- great location. beautiful hotel. great staff. nothing more could be expected.
- Excellent location. Modern sophisticated interior. Cozy rooms. Very kid friendly.
- Clean, comfortable accommodations. Excellent location. Big bonus for wonderful restaurant and bar onsite. Convenient parking.
Cons -
- It was an issue with the shower and they didn’t arrange it
- The combination of old with new. Staff very polite and helpful.
- We had a horrible dining experience. There was a soccer game that evening and all of the restaurants/dinners were preoccupied with watching the game so we decided to go back to the hotel restaurant. There was a very large event in the restaurant so the noise level was crazy loud. We decided to go to the terrace to eat. We had to wait over 30 minutes for a salad and a sandwich. The sandwich order was completely wrong.

Everything, the restaurant is amazing, the beds are great as well, and the personnel are very friendly and helpful. I will go back anytime.
The hotel is a renovated old palace built against the original city walls near a main vehicular entrance gate to the historic walled city. Our large room on the top floor was loaded with character and nicely appointed. The location is good for seeing the main tourist sites, including access to the exceptionally preserved city defensive walls and the cathedral. The on site restaurant and cafe are good, and an exceptional breakfast was provided. Pre-arranged parking is provided on site for a fee.

I am an architect. This building combining old materials with new ones is excellent. Shows a very good taste. Seeing the very old wood on the ceilings made me rate this hotel as exceptional

Location and property with reserved parking.

The room was well maintained and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and high-quality ingredients were used. There was a menu that one can place orders. The restaurant chefs prepared well-presented and delicious dishes for our lunch. It was well worth a try.
The property was amazing. Great central location. Staff was kind and very helpful - Olivia went above and beyond for us! The room was clean and elegant. Bed was super comfortable. We had dinner at the restaurant - our meal was exquisite! Our stay in Ávila was awesome! Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
The Sofraga Palace in Avila was the best of the 7 hotels I visited in Spain this year, including the excellent paradors. SP is an expertly restored former convent located right on Avila's famous medieval walls, just one block from the cathedral and two blocks from St. Vincent's wonderful 13 century basilica, and in the liveliest part of town. Service and facilities were impeccable. The hotel tavern serves great Spanish food and wine. Our room had a nice view of the impressive Gothic cathedral.
Checking in was a little difficult because there is only a small place to park the car momentarily.
We enjoyed our one night stay - the hotel is beautiful, and our room was clean, quite, spacious and comfortable. Fantastic location just inside the city walls.
As others have mentioned, dragging our suitcases over cobblestones from the parking area to the hotel was inconvenient. There was no cart/trolley available and the cobblestones would have made it unmanageable anyway. Recommend a better short-term unloading location for luggage. It was also unclear where to pull-in and park when we first arrived. My husband stayed in the car, while I ran into the hotel to see if they would lift the gate for him. Recommend better instructions prior to arrival.
What a lovely hotel, ideally situted in the heart of the old town. The restaurant and bar/cafe were excellent. The city wall forms part of the hotel and also part of our room. It is only 10 years since the building was renovated and converted to a hotel, to a very high standard, but it retains its sense of history. Our room was perfect and very quiet, with a very large and comfortable bed. We were there during the Spain wide power outage, and the staff could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was good, with items freshly prepared to order.
Nothing. We loved it.
The location is wonderful, just inside the walls of the historic old town . The private parking is a real bonus given the hotels location. Our room was large, clean and tastefully decorated. The terrace bar/café is a great place to chill out and is amazing value for snacks and drinks ( many of which come with free tapas !). This hotel combines modern luxury with a wonderful historic vibe. Its a long time since I've stayed in a hotel as good as this.
Excellent position so close to everything we wanted to see. Lovely room and really helpful staff.
Nothing not to like.
An unexpected jewel of a hotel inside the charming walled city of Ávila. Elegant and spacious. The hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful.
The understated luxury and ambience of this small hotel far exceeds any hotel I have stayed in ....... anywhere. This relatively new hotel punches way above it`s weight in the category it is classed.I`m sure it will gather many more deserved accolades to support it`s growing reputation.
A very minor personal annoyance after the previous `likes` section would seem petty so I won`t mention it.I didn`t like leaving ...
Location; service; room; breakfast. Really, everything! They gave parking reserved for us. Great place next to the wall.
You are staying in a Palace. The staff are Brill. Facilities top notch . Food superb.
Tastefully decorated and furnished. Felt spacious. Pleasant seating areas. Great location.
