Hotel Samasa Fundao

I will stay here again. I loved the included breakfast from 7AM-11AM!

My room number was on my room key. I was asked for my room number outloud in front of others everyday at breakfast. (Violation of "Hotel Security 101.")

Location.

The temperature of rooms was extremely uncomfortable. Spent most of the night heating and cooling the room. Extremely frustrating and uncomfortable.

A very comfortable great value stay in this old style hotel with friendly reception. Our room was spacious and clean with everything we needed including crisp white bed linen. Excellent breakfast served from 7am. Eateries are nearby on the lovely wide tree-lined street below. Excellent value for money stay. On our route walking the Camino Nascente.

For what I had to do, the location was fine. Overall, however, the stay was a disaster.

Mouldy, worn curtains, dirt and mould on the walls, mould in the shower and indefinable slime marks on the bathroom wall. Look the photos. Room 109. The staff fetch coffee in row in the breakfast room, but nobody thinks of wiping away the spilt coffee in the cup slot. Friendliness doesn´t seem to fit to the staff. I wouldn't stay there again even if I would get paid for. I can´t believe that this "hotel" received the "clean and safe" label from the Ministry of Tourism as promoted. What a mess.

It is an older hotel. Parking is on the street right outside the hotel. There were a few restaurants open which were okay. There was nothing alarmingly bad about the hotel. We were only there for one night.

Not a lot. It was somewhere to sleep. Fairly comfortable bed.

No tea and coffee facilities in the room. Tired décor. Pretty dismal place. On-street parking.

Perfectly located in the middle of Fundao.Staff very welcoming and friendly.Quite and good size rooms with good wifi and TV channel offer. Good bathroom size.Breakfast offer good.

the bar is not active there is no posibility to get drinks or coffee or something to eat besides breakfast

Breakfast included in the price was nice.

Mould on some of the walls in the room, the shower leaked and caused the bathroom floor to be wet. Room smelt a bit musty.

Breakfast was very good, fresh. room was clean. bed had a mattress protector, that's important from a cleanliness aspect. nott all accommodations have them and they should. Hotel is very close to the town centre and the train station. Staff were very helpful and although the receptionist said her English was not good it actually was very good. Far better than my attempt at Portuguese.

Not a complaint but a suggestion. the website mentioned bicycle hire but couldn't find more info. It's not very British to ask ( our fault I know it's just a British thing) a leaflet in the room or at the desk would have been useful. Secondly everything except the fresh fruit is covered in the dining room at breakfast time. Unfortunately we observed a guest, a workman, sneeze right over the fruit. a cover would have been helpful. we never tried the fruit after that. Hope these comments help in making the hotel even more popular.

There was a long very balcony ,??????? No table or chairs out side to enjoy it.

I LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THE HOTEL, GREAT STAFF, GREAT LOCATION, GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY, SUPER QUIET HOTEL. I WILL RETURN WITH MY FAMILY SOMETIME. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE VISITING FUNDAO, THE LOCATION IS SIMPLY THE BEST, YOU HAVE GREAT RESTAURANTS, CAFES AND MANY PLACES TO GO ALL AT YOUR DOOR STEP.

Luis and the front desk staff were terrific about meeting some extra requests, and offering their own insights to help us enjoy our stay in Fundao even more.

Very nice staff. The receptionist was very helpful. Hot water was not working in my room. He got it fixed instantly. Decent breakfast. Great location & good value for your money. Highly recommended

I liked the decoration of the space. I loved the breakfast and the view from my bedroom. I could see some buildings, it's true, but also the landscape and mountains in the distance.The bedroom was very clean and the beds were comfortable. I was there in the winter and did not feel cold. The bedroom is well equipped and it's cozy.

Liked the bed , would have prefered a walk in shower. Very spacious.

No mini bar in the bedroom and no bar in the hotel.

The room was good clean the bed was good breakfast was excellent..

The fridge needs upgrading and the bathtub is too deep, my wife had a lot of trouble getting into it other then that it's a good place to stay, thank you..peace

Breakfast was ok, although the eggs were not always available at 7am, location was excellent as were the staff. Did have issues with wi if reception and the tv in the room did not receive a signal for at least 2 days.

Very enjoyable stay. Staff were very helpful and the facilities good.Breakfast was good as well.Definitely be back.
