The hotel was very pleasant. The breakfast was very good. The staff were excellent.
The bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable.
We liked pretty much everything, especially the delightful, kind, friendly, helpful and hard working staff. We liked the library itself. We thought that our room (no 12) with its little balcony, was great. We liked the hotel's distinctive individual character. We liked the location at the heart of the village of Kalavasos.
There was nothing we did not like. We would have preferred hotter coffee, but when we asked, that was provided.
I liked the setting, the room, the food and the staff were great. The main room near the lobby, the library itself, was a great place to relax.
There is nothing I disliked about this property.
Bad experience
Very bad experience. Completely unprepared to accomodate visitors. They run out of all the room amenities. The room was not clean enough. The matress was bad causing discomfort and making it very difficult to fal asleep. Not prepared to feed their visitors either. Not professional approach at all.
All meals were very good.Location lovely. Staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful.
Had slight issues with heating the room. Was dealt with satisfactorily. February not the best time to visit.
This is a charming hotel with great potential. Food was nice and the ambience is superb.
So much is in need of repair, the jacuzzi in the room, shower heads, light bulbs, showers in the spa, and loose taps.
Clean and spacious rooms. There was a fireplace at the library areaFree parking space near the hotelThe receptionist was very friendly and professional
Booked a suite with a private jacuzzi. However the main jacuzzi control panel was not working and only the small jets were turning on by a secondary single button. So, the jacuzzi light, the big jets and the heater were not working. Also the water was getting cold very fast and we could not get the jacuzzi filled with warm water. The owner said that the main controls (that were not working) were only for the radio which I believe was a lie as there are multiple different buttons as shown in the pictures. About the water, she said to try later when less people are using the hot water which seemed a little bit unprofessional. Basically, the jacuzzi was unusable and upgrading to a suite felt like a waste of money
Trash, Never again
So firstly we didnt had hot water for more than 2 minutes, the staf when they showed us the room they didnt told us anything about the jacuzzi nor the elevator also on our last day they ironically asked us if we had hot water that was very rude of the staff. They also didnt have enough towels and also we tried calling the desk from the room phone but didnt work this is unacceptable.
Staff were very welcoming; loved how tastefully upgraded the beautiful old building was; loved the village location; breakfast was just right (no evening meal taken); very relaxing.
Not a fan of bath robes so would have preferred better quality towels - and somewhere to dry them. Cypriot accommodation seems to be a bit short of radiators ?. On same theme, would have welcomed the fire being lit (it was December). We experienced noise issues with the air conditioning units trying to heat the place.
Beautiful property in a gorgeous village. The room was beautiful with lots of character, the bed was huge and so comfy!
There were no spa facilities offered or available it seems so maybe best to remove the Wellness from the name. Breakfast was average.
Very nice quiet room, we had a nice chat with the girl at reception on arrival, Bfast is good
Pool dirty due to pigeons constantly bathing in it, maid cleaned several times but birds kept on coming, lady at the bfast room was not friendly at all, let alone not knowing how to do a simple espresso Macchiato.
Everything
Wi think, we forgot the hat ,I called to the reception, and they told that they will call me, and today they didn't call
The Library Hotel is conveniently situated in a village between Larnaca and Limassol, offering a nice balance between accessibility and a peaceful rural setting. This location allows guests to explore both major cities while enjoying a more authentic Cypriot village experience. While the room decor was somewhat dated, it was well-maintained and impeccably clean. This demonstrates the hotel's commitment to guest comfort despite the need for modernization. The highlight of the stay was undoubtedly the staff. Their kindness and attentiveness greatly enhanced the overall experience. The warm hospitality provided by the hotel employees made guests feel welcome and valued. The Library Hotel offers a pleasant stay for those looking for a quiet retreat in Cyprus. While it may not boast the most modern amenities, its strengths lie in its unique location, cleanliness, and exceptional staff. It's a good choice for travelers who appreciate personal touches and don't mind slightly older accommodations.
Really nice hotel with great ambiance in great setting. Ideal for a mini Get away.Rooms very nice. Iits a little Gem far enough away from busy resorts for some peace & quiet but close enough should you want to spend time in Limasol. Enjoyed dinner at a lovely restarant in the village
The hotel was very clean and traditional
The receptionist was rude and miserable she made us feel like we were inconveniencing her . We did not eat at the hotel as she threw a menu at us
Nice hotel. I loved the bathroom with the Jacuzzi . Great breakfast
The bed was not comfortable. There are no signs so it was hard to find the reception/
I was traveling back home to Israel with two young adult children. We were on a long journey and I wanted to choose somewhere other than Larnaca. It popped up on booking while I was looking for properties near governors beach, which I discovered to be a ten minute drive by car but too far by foot. I loved the staff who welcomed us extremely early with hot coffee in the library. It has a warm cozy feeling like a home away from home. The breakfast was simple. If you love books like I do a why not choose a library hotel.
We traveled at the end of August in extremely hot weather and only came to Cyprus because it was our only option to get back to Israel. We had the last room available on booking.com and the air conditioner broke. I complained to the staff. I was hot and exhausted. I would have happily taken a fan or two in the room. They told me they had no table fans or any movable fans. I think they should have some fans on the property in an emergency situation. After hearing enough of me they decided to put the three of us in a smaller room with an air conditioner and a ceiling fan. Maybe someone left later in the day. We received the smaller room near nightfall. In the end they came through for us and we had a good night sleep. They have a great staff. We left at five am. They connected us with a reliable taxi service that came on time. The phone for a taxi is +357 99 619423, Kyriacos. I would stay here again. It's not a fancy five star venue but rather a unique experience with heart and soul. I thank the entire staff. They really went above and beyond.
The staff was very friendly and the room was absolutely impeccable. It was very clean and quite, and the jacuzzi in the bathroom was a very nice plus! Overall, great value for money and we had a wonderful experience, would definitely recommend this to anyone and we will return for sure!
