Room space, design, location, breakfast

The renovation of the building is very well done. Our room was fantastic (corner room with 2 balconies). The staff are so helpful with maps, restaurant ideas, winery recommendations.

Street parking, not a deal breaker but something to consider.

Wish there was a safe in the room.

The breakfast and common areas on the first floor were very nice and beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a very central location to explore the Douro Valley.

The elevator was painfully slow and the area outside around the hotel was just okay. The room did not have enough furniture to organize stuff.

Beautifully renovated old home retaining many of the original features. Alice and staff were so friendly and accommodating of our needs. Breakfast buffet was elegant and delicious. Highly recommend staying here as a base for touring the Douro valley vineyards!

Nothing except perhaps a slightly bigger bathroom would be more comfortable

The staff was superb!!! They helped us with transportation, dining reservations, tasting reservation and basically made the trip what it was! The location was terrific and the room was lovely.

The only 2 recommendations I have would be coffee makers in the room OR coffee set up in the lobby starting very early, as it was not available until 8 am. Also a larger waste basket in the room. These are not complaints but recommendations.

The architectural renovation was beautifully done and had inspired touches of preserving the integrity of the original structure while making it modern and elegant. The stay was helpful and friendly. The breakfast was amazing! Delicious homemade everything was a treat! The room was clean and comfortable. The location in Douro Vally is perfect.

My third visit, the usual warm welcome from the wonderful staff. Beautiful building inside, comfortable rooms and superb breakfast.

Front desk and breakfast staff were excellent. Lenore offered recommendations where to go for wine tasting and lunch. We had help with the parking meter from another young lady and excellent breakfast each morning. We enjoyed the area and the restaurants near by.

This hotel has an excellent location in the city centre, just by the river and within walking distance of numerous restaurants and shops. The building itself is beautifully renovated, blending modern comforts with historic charm. Everything was spotlessly clean, and our room was very comfortable. We stayed on the third floor, so we weren’t disturbed by any train noise, which could be an issue for lower-floor rooms closer to the tracks. The air conditioning was a great feature, especially since the room tended to get quite warm.Breakfast was generally good, with a nice selection of fresh and homemade items. The pumpkin bread and homemade cakes were absolutely delicious! However, we felt that there could be a bit more variety—especially more scrambled eggs, bacon, and white toast bread. These additions would make the breakfast even better.Overall, this is a fantastic hotel in a prime location, with clean and comfortable rooms and a lovely atmosphere. A slightly expanded breakfast selection would make the experience even better, but we would definitely stay here again!Ps. The elevator is slow but just take the stairs if you can. It's much more healthy and sustainable.

Great location - so convenient to the river yet quiet and calm. The staff was wonderful. The room was on the smaller side but very tastefully done with efficient use of space. Breakfast was outstanding.
