    Pros +

    • The hotel was in a convenient location.
    • I was delighted that the hotel accommodated my request for a double room for my friends and the 2 rooms were really spacious. The breakfast was also fantastic with the scenic view over the river.
    • The river view, great buffet breakfast, loved the coffee here.

    Cons -

    • The room was a bit old and bedding needed updating.
    • My only comment is the pools was a little dirty. Other than that, we had a very enjoyable stay.
    • No kettle to make tea at night, a little far from town centre, tho lots of cafes and restaurants. We ate at the hotel restaurant, I had the confit duck, which was actually quite dry for duck. I was a little disappointed in the meal for the price. The restaurant was nice, with good views

Excelent location (as advertised!), near the river dock and the train station, with a fantastic view over the river itself. The breakfast had great variety and quality.

The hotel is a bit old fashioned and could use some renovations. For god's sake, remove the carpet from the rooms!

Excellent location with close access to the Duoro Valley. Clean rooms, excellent breakfast and good restaurant for an evening meal. We had a river room with a nice balcony view of the Duoro River.

    Parking on site

Everything was bad, starting from air conditioning that wasn't working uncomfortable beds and very old stablish room.

Great location, excellent rooms, quality service, very reasonable prices

Easy to find location with good parking off road. Nice view of the Douro.

The hotel feels a little tired and could do with some upgrading. But it is comfortable enough for the money.

Loved the mid century vibe, the beautiful view of the Douro, the easy parking, and the great breakfast served in a lovely room. My husband said the shower was the best he’d had in any hotel, ever.

Beds were a tiny bit hard for my taste.

It is a very old hotel. The whole property either gets warm air or cold air. Unfortunately, the hotel staff decided they were chilly and the entire hotel was set to heat. The hotel has AC but the entire hotel either gets AC or heat. If you are either hot or cold and not in the populous, prepare to be uncomfortable.

    Easy booking.

Good size room with excellent view of the river. Staff were polite.

3 abysmal nights sleep due to the room being too warm. The in-room air conditioning controls have been disconnected, so don't waste your time fiddling with them as I did at 01.30 am one night. The building's temperature is set centrally - at cool in summer and warm in winter. Trouble is mid November wasn't cold and people's requirements will differ. The staff helped as much as possible providing a fan but with only limited success. Restaurant - the poorest lamb chops I've ever had. All chop and no lamb!

Our room on the 2nd Floor gave us a splendid view southwards over the River Duoro. The room itself, like the whole hotel, was a bit dated in its design, but perfectly comfortable, beds especially. The spread for breakfast was good and the one meal that we had in the restaurant was delicious and nicely presented. Regua is not a large town and this hotel is to the eastern end, near the bridges, but it is well situated to access the Railway Station (250 m), bus station (250m - but no timetables), car hire at Drivalia (450 m), river boat quays (500m) and the trendy tapas/wine bars and restaurants beyond the station (300m). Also not to be missed is Casa Mirim (Coffee and a Pastel de Nata for 2 euros), along the front!! Go on, have another!!

Nothing. Could possibly have held more information for tourists such as car hire, area map, restaurants, etc.

    Location and parking

Poor breakfast choice extremely noisy room I wish that when you were booking they were upfront about the noisey rooms which back onto the main road as I would have booked a room which overlooks the river although more expensive would have been better for a decent nights sleep

The view is outstanding, the room was quite large, hotel was open & spacious.

    8ElizabethPosted on: 7-25-2024

This hotel has a most lovely view if you have a river view room. The location is near to the train station, taxi rank and bus stop. The breakfast has a good choice and you can also get an evening meal here. The pool area is lovely and clean and there is a bar nearby. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is also a snack bar attached to hotel which serves lovely food. We have used this hotel before and we will hopefully be back.

There were some new younger staff which were unsure what they were doing. One was manning the bar who seemed to dissappear when you were waiting to be served at the bar. Another young one at the downstairs bar near pool did not seem to know what drinks we were requesting and was not helpful.

On the river, large room & bathroom. very friendly front desk staff.

we needed air conditioning at night, the rooms were very warm. When we asked, we learned that the AC had already been shut off for the season. Loud noises (moving furniture & tools) at night. Staff suggested we stay on the first floor next time.

    9ElizabethPosted on: 7-2-2024

The view from the room. The breakfast. The bed. The location. The helpful staff at reception.

First night lights did not work well. Trying to order drinks from bar very slow.

It is an older hotel but comfortable, nicely located by river with a good buffet breakfast and off street parking.

No tea and coffee in room.
