- Excellent restaurant. Gourmet food and great service. Management addressed our concerns
- Great staff, location and facilities. Thewine tour was led by a master who really knew his subject.
- Beautiful, friendly staff.
Cons -
- Modern wing rooms not 5 stars, more 3 star. Old wing rooms better. Very busy hotel, lots of tour buses.
- Booking.com couldn't get us in the wine barrel rooms as we originally booked. When called, they told us there was no such room, despite the web listing presenting them and despite us contacting the resort directly and being told they were available. Won't ever use this website again. Will book directly with the resort.
- It was very cold in the room. Water was cold in the shower after one person used it.

Upgrade to wine barrel room!
View of city (would prefer view of vineyards and river!
We had access to walk to grounds of the vineyards each day. Stunning views and visits from the resident dogs and peacock!
Property was gorgeous. The food was amazing. Port outstanding. The staff was friendly. You must take the electric bikes out. So fun!!!
Lovely setting in vineyards, pretty buildings, excellent staff and friendly service. Pool area gorgeous. A vineyard walk and tasting with Katya, who was delightful. Food was excellent. Wine at tasting not great. Aneto &Table restaurant (in Regua) good for dinner and excellent wine.
Bedrooms (right next to dining room) were rather dark, no reading lights, our bed was twins pushed together (fine) but one person didn’t get a bedside table or lamp, and the twin bedsteads were left attached to the wall, which looked messy. Late-night noise from wooden floors upstairs. A bit of building work going on, not noisy but not very pretty. All felt a bit commercial (tour buses) once we’d stayed at other places nearer to Pinhão.
The staff is so very friendly. We got excellent service from everyone. A special note of thanks to Sara, our wine tour, guide. We especially liked the cooking workshop. Joao and Patricia made the experience special and delicious. The breakfast was delicious too. Thank you.
The vineyard is beautifully situated close to the Douro rive and the hotel is well designed
The reception hall was a bit odd with little room to sit
This was our second time staying here and we stayed in the bungalow again. It's always such a lovely experience. However, we were here last year and I feel like it's not as nicely maintained as it was las year. Doors / locks are really beaten up and don't have that nice appeal to them since they look so ruined. Bathrooms and mirrors weren't the cleanest. So, that was a bit sad to see. The views are spectacular and we spent a half a day at the pool which was great. They now have electric bikes that we were told we could use any time, but when we went to use them, they were locked and I was then told that you had to go to reception to fill out a disclaimer.... to ride a bike.... that's crazy and waste of time.
The onsite restaurant is so nice with a beautiful view, but it is extremely overpriced for the little bit of food that you get. I highly recommend going offsite for lunch / dinner. While I paid over $750 per night for 2 bungalows, 3 months in advance, the evening I was there, they were $400 and they didn't even give us any type of credit or refund. A bit disappointing as a repeat customer.

Kids during the degustation session. It is not a place to have kids.
Absolutely gorgeous property, so beautiful to look at it with so many areas of shade where we could sit. The restaurant was exquisite. We chose the wine barrels with a private pool, while the kids got a regular room. While there is more space in the regular room, the wine barrel is super fun and private to share some wine and take a dip in the pool at night.
Nothing, it was amazing.
Very nice facilities, amazing views and gardens.
A little overpriced.
Staying in a wine barrel was a really fun experience. Also the breakfast they served us in the wine barrel was great. Also loved the wine tour.
The airco didn’t work in our wine barrel and it was impossible to sleep. The temperature the day we stayed there was over 100F.
Property is beautiful and close to city so it was fairly easy to get a taxi and get off property to go to dinner. The peacocks were beautiful and the service was great.
We stayed in wine barrel room. For me, it was just too small and really hard to maneuver around each other. I kinda felt like I was “glamoing”. For a younger couple or honeymooners it’s probably a fun option. Or maybe e if you’re only going to stay a night.
The staff is very accommodating. The facilities are excellent. The water circuit in the spa was relaxing.
There is construction occurring that was not mentioned prior to arrival and was a minor distraction.
The place is beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and clean. The bar has nice options and attentive staff.
I liked everything. As a suggestion, they should have a small gift shop where they could sell swimming suits and other necessities that are forgotten by customers.
lovely lodging, clean and comfy rooms, pool and Spa, very friendly staff.Loved the peacocks...
Outside seating for beakfast would be lovely.
This wonderful property is on the rise. The staff do their best to please the customer at every interaction and that really felt five star. We arrived early and checked our bags with the porter so we could take a wine tour and tasting on the property. Then we had reserved an hour in the water circuit part of the spa during the “kids hour” so our young ones could enjoy that. We had dinner in the restaurant which was also a top notch experience. The rooms are new and modern, and the view from our balcony was fantastic. This was really a special experience and one that we highly recommend.
We slept in one of the barrels, it's a bit small but offered a unique experience. The complimentary wine tasting was very nice. Great breakfast. We also had a very good dinner at the hotel restaurant.
