Pros +
- Convenient
- Spacious and comfortable room. Superb breakfast with plenty of choice. Optional evening meals were good value for money. I would certainly stay here again.
- Nothing from side.
Cons -
- Dated, dark hallway, it's sad and needs a revamp. Such a huge place and obviously no money going into fixing it up.
- View from room was overlooking courtyard onto which other rooms looked.
- As a 4 star hotel, really i didn’t like it.Staf was not friendly. I asked them about parking and there was huge parking infront of the hotel. But they show me a different location. I tried to find parking there. Due to heavy raining i couldn’t locate the parking place. And my car tyres marked in their field. Thats why they charged me 50 euros. I asked them to give me invoice for that. And they took atleast 30-45 minutes to provide it. I used so many hotels. Never faced this kind of problems.

We could hear what was going on next door room. Very bad sound proof…Our wall was shaking ?
We had 3 breakfasts and one lunch while there. The breakfasts were included free and lunch was of good quality. Staff were great and many were multilingual. There is a walkable distance small market, clothing store, bakery, small bar and bit further walk away a few full restaurant options.
Only slight disappointment was that access to the Palace spa's pool was a bit pricey IMO for the time allowed (max 45 minutes) even with the $1 euro Palace hotel guest discount over the spa's normal low season rate of $14.5 euros (i.e. entry cost was $13.5 euros each for 45 minutes). I guess we are just used to the North American model where the attached pool and hot-tubs are included in one's hotel accommodation fee. Still the all staff were friendly & helpful. We did not purchase the other Palace Spa massage services.
The breakfast was good; however, the dining room had little or no appeal with a decor very antiquated. By contrast, the spa has excellent facilities.
The carpets of the halls outside the room require an appropriate cleaning. Also the bar by the reception needs a good upgrade.
Very good location. Well able to adapt to our necessities and let us check in early since we had a wedding. Termas are amazing to relax and improve the breathing and skin.
I loved the hotel, the rooms are very cozy, the pool is also very nice and the food is amazing.
There's nothing to do during the night.
The rooms were large and with good beds.
No swimming except the special SPA treatments
Nothing in special
For a 4 star hotel, there is not at least reasonable conditions in the room, shower and breakfast area. Corredora without lights.
Breakfast with enough variety and options.
Unfortunately this ia not a 4 star anymore, it may have been in the past, but at the time of my stay the whole structure seemed decadent. Lights off or very dimmed in the bar and breakfast hall. Booking description of the room not accurate. Had spider webs outside my window. Broken fridge that in the lowest settings was unable to be under the room temperature and stinked as banana and yogurt. AirCo had it's flaps and fan control broken and was constantly sending air directly to the desk. Bathtub drain didn't close properly, and it may had been cleaned but it still looked dirty. There was no safe in the room. ALL SPA access is payed separately, although it's not clear in the service description. It's 13,50eur for 45min access the spa, which at this time had only the pool working. No sauna, no turkish bath.... and again mostly of the lights off. Staff was polite but not friendly. Also, the parking lot is not big, if the hotel is full, definitely won't fit everyone. The whole atmosphere wasn't cozy, didn't invite you to relax. There are much better spa hotels in portugal at this price range.
Staff were excellent. Friendly and wanted to help.
Hotel isn't ready yet. Rooms had lovely potential but need updating and maintenance.Hotel couldn't accept non-Portuguese credit or debit cards, so we couldn't even buy drinks or dinner, so we only stayed one night and cancelled the next nights stay. Also, the bed was like a board!Didn't see the spa facilities, so can't comment on that.Really nice staff though!
Piscina massagens simpatia do staff
not much but the swimming pool
outdated and dirty, worst reception contact.
The place is very quite. The room was clean, the staff were helpful. We missed the breakfast, but got it anyway.
The room is old. The pillows are bad quality. The bathroom is very old. Bottle with shower gel was empty. Free wifi didnt get to the room on 2 floor and even mobile internet worked only with 3G.
wonderful location, Great place to stay if you're looking for a couple of relaxing days. The rooms are very spacious and quiet. The bed is quite comfortable and the cleanliness of the room is up to expectations. The restaurant of the hotel has a great menu with local dishes prepared for you. The staff is very nice and always available to help. I have to highlight the spa, great pool and fantastic massages. Highly recommended!
I must admit I have been here a couple of times now, and wasn't hugely impressed. The spa piscina is very good and extremely well priced. Be aware the different Jacuzzis and various other jets are on a timer system but you soon get used to it.Today I went and it was the best visit I have had. The staff were all extremely helpful, kind and went over and above to accommodate my Fibromyalgia symptoms (considering its an invisible disease) the facilities are very clean, disability friendly and they have extremely good Covid measures in place to keep everyone safe. So to recap good price, excellent therapy pool. I will provide pictures soon. Thank you to all the staff on site today you all helped me more than you'll ever know ???
Thia is a proper old style thermas- which I like- the thermal pool is good for this kind of small town thermal bath, lots of jets and a really high suplhur content- but was overun with kids on first day , so noisy, and can get very busy. Turkish and Suana were out of order. Treatments are expensive- massage £40 plus had to pay for use of pool on top-£20 but the Vichy massage was very good indeed. The rooms are a bit stuffy and drab. Staff not often to be seen.... worth it if you are a thermas freak, like me-it; worth a day visit, but if you are after top notch spa and hotel, not for you.
check in- big queue of group of about 30 folk ahead of me....and only one person on desk. Wi fi was really bad.
This is very old property with broken furniture, cheaped restroom and vannities. Breakfest dissapears after 20 mins and
The rooms were clean. The staff tried.
Just outside the doors of the hotel reception are some Roman ruins of the bathhouse found there. The same spring waters are now being used for the current health spa. The hotel is not as old as these springs, it just looks it. The lifts are slow and creaky, the steps to the basement (where the spa is) are crumbling under your feet. There is nowhere to iron any clothes. The staff do not know how to operate their own tills, or their espresso machine.Breakfast is a terrifying thing with croissants that may have once been served to the ancient romans and thinly sliced soft spam. Service from Uber or Bolt is non existent, expect a local taxi to cost about 30% more. On the bright side, the showers are great. This hotel is a cultural phenomenon - the staff were friendly - when you could find them - but they were the icing on a somewhat stale cake.
