- The hotel per se is nice, most of the staff too and breakfast is good but we have been assaulted by 2 violent thieves armed with knives in the very street of the hotel, 100m away from it on a Sunday at 9pm (they were waiting at the corner of the street). We were violently thrown on the floor and ripped off. Never walk there at night even if it seems ok and the neighborhood has good reputation. There is no other shop/hotel in that street. Big thanks to the hotel receptionist who came out when he heard us scream, I think his name is Juan Camilo/Carlos. Staff of the hotel helped us to a certain extent but not a lot of proactivity. We were not offered water/food or assistance proactivel despite appearing wounds and state of shock and the police was very unhelpful. The hotel claims that we were warned to always take taxis after sundown, it is not true. I am fluent in Spanish and would have understood. We are cautious travelers. El Poblado is not safe after sundown. Be careful if you book this hotel.
