Pros +
- Absolutely beautiful place. I was in the middle of a 3000km drive and picked a place to rest for the night just because it was close to the highway. And what a find! The restaurant deserves 5 stars on its own. The room was big. The bathroom was amazing. The bed was warm and comfortable.

- Everything was perfect. I don't think there's anything that needs improvement. In fact, I want to return there with my wife for a weekend getaway.
- I liked it all. I wasn’t really expecting local attractions, so if you are looking for that, this might not be the town :-)
- Very limited English speaking staff, Rooms don't have individual AC, only central climatizer, meaning that on a hot day in late April when they still have it set to heat, your only choice is to turn off the heating. Our room reached 26 degrees with AC off, and only option would be to move to another room. Also note that in late April, most trees in the region are naked, so not so much green around.

Staff was excellent. Place was very comfortable and well furnished. Food was also exceptional. We enjoyed our stay very much.
We booked this hotel last minute because we were in the area. It was December and very cold. The inside of the hotel was surprising with comfy lounges mountain style and very comfortable. It has a welcoming and relaxing feeling. Good place to be with friends, chat, play games and have a drink by the fireplace (if there was a bar in this area, which unfortunately there isn't).
To contrast with the lounges (renovated old building) the restaurant/bar was very cold looking and not very appealing. We had the intention to get a drink after dinner but the room was so cold looking that we decided not to. Maybe is more welcoming in the summer when it's hot outside but with cold winter weather the restaurant/bar is very plain, all white, very cold looking and in huge contrast with the rest of the resting areas. We even decided not to get breakfast in the Hotel because it's didn't look cosy and it seemed expensive. The room we stayed in was ok and the bathroom was warm, which was nice, but it needs some remodeling to get a more modern feel.
as expected from previous stays in paradors. the hotel is excellent with free parking. I can't comment on dining as we didn't eat there.
the parador is on the outskirts of the town, so you have to drive in.
Great reception, front desk and all restaurant staff excellent.Great location
A minor comment:Room temperature very uncomfortably hot at night, and not possible to adjust control. For a one stay only option was to keep the balcony window open which allowed some night noise.
Staff excellent and very helpful. Location was great near all the sites. Parking very good. Very clean and good beds.
Breakfast was lacking a little on choice of cereals like museli . Also the food was a bit expensive to eat there.
Clean spacious room with lovely bathroom, nice view to the old town.10-15 walk to town. Free parking on site.
Lacking in character for a Parador, modern building.Luke warm reception from staff when we arrived.
The hotel itself was wonderfully clean and styled, with a range of facilities we weren't able to try because of time constraints. The bar and restaurant staff were great and both evening meal and breakfast were excellent
The reception on check in was not very welcoming, no smiles just a bit robotic.
One of our rooms had a great view to the village and castle. Rooms were super spacious and well equipped. All the comfort expected from Paradores, although the building itself is not an old castle or monastery as with other Paradores. Lots of free parking (even with shadow). Short walking distance from the old village. Great staff and service. An easy sort drive to the Lake.
We weren't offered any hot dishes at breakfast, unlike with other Paradores.
Great location .. perfect walking distance from Pueblo Sanabria town.. which is lovely.
It was a little tired especially the bathroom and the rooms a bit like staying in a cheap travel lodge .. not overly impressed with the building to be honest..!
Excellent Parador in one of Spain's most beautiful villages. Nicely situated a short walk from the centre of the village.
Very handy as a stop off between getting off the ferry in Santander and driving to our house in Lisbon.
Modern & so immaculately clean.
Stunning views to old town from our room, good buffet breakfast, pool was cold but got a decent swim in!
The old town was lovely and the pool was very much appreciated
The food in the restaurant was not very good we had to send our main course back as it was cold
Great view out our bedroom window of the castle, wonderful deep bath, pool - a bit chilly but fun!
After a very long, cold and wet bicycle ride on the Camino Via de Plata, we were warmly greeted by Paloma. In all our years of cycling we have never been so cold and wet and near hypothermia. Paloma was amazing she was so thoughtful and kind. She quickly identified how distressed we were and suggested that we went immediately to our room and had a hot bath/shower and change out of our soaking wet clothes, then she would be able to complete the necessary formalities. We were in no state to do much else. That was such a relief. As we were very late arriving and too late for lunch the lovely gentleman in the bar was able to prepare a simple hot meal for us…a really tasty, imaginative burger. The lady at breakfast the next morning was equally helpful and friendly. She very kindly gave me a chocolate brownie with a candle on the top (when she found out it was my birthday!). During our stay our bikes were stored in a secure place, that was really helpful. The room was extremely comfortable and toasty warm so we were easily able to dry out our soaking wet clothes and shoes etc.
We don’t like writing negative comments but the breakfast was a huge disappointment for a Parador. First of al the lady on the 2nd morning was surly, unhelpful and seemed to have an attitude., she avoided contact with the guests. This was the complete opposite form the previous morning. We made sure that our communications were in Spanish too. The offer appeared tired, on day 2 Strawberries were rotten and no fresh ones to replace them. Some of the tiny sandwiches were curled up at the edges and the bread was not fresh. We were not confident that the buffet had been freshly prepared that morning or left over from the previous day /days. Also the range of food on offer was poor quality and restricted. This is not the standard you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The hotel itself was beautifully designed and presented but apart from certain members of staff it was not a happy place to be and it had no ‘soul. We put that down to bad or lack of Management. Please ensure your staff are well looked after, they are doing their best and some going over and above expectations.
We had such a wonderful welcome when we arrived soaked to the skin after a bitterly cold and wet journey of 35+ miles on The Via de Plata. The wonderful lady on reception could see the terrible state we were in and was so kind and compasionate to us she allowed us to go to the room and get a hot shower and change our clothes before we offically checked in. We were too late for lunch but the lovely gentleman in the bar served us a delicous Burger!! Our bikes were stored in a great place. So much of this Parador was good. On our first morning the breakfast team were delightful. On my birthday the lady brought me a chocolate brownie with a candle on top, that was very kind.
The breakfast offer was a huge disappointment. On one morning the strawberries were rotten. There were tiny sandwiches which were curled up at the edges. Everything seemed tired and such a limited offer for a Parador. On the 2nd morning it was dificult to know if plates had been refreshed. The woman on the breakfast the 2nd morning was really negative and lacking any social skills. The whole place seemed to lack any character and the staff team seemed quite low in morale. Very sad considering the beautiful location. Maybe this is down to the Management or rather lack of good Management.
Loved the hotel and room. All the staff were really nice and helpful.
Pillows were too hard and we couldn't lower the room temperature enough. The pool area needs a revamp as a lot is looking rundown and the giant conifers block the sun.
