A8 Hotel im Darchinger Hof Bed & Breakfast - Zwischen Holzkirchen und Weyarn - Zwischen München Salzburg und Innsbruck - Kurz vor dem Irschenberg

The host was great and respectful and after my previous hotel was cancelled due to a overbooking in another hotel, he was there and make my stay great.

We chose this hotel for an one night stay in our drive across Bavaria. The hotels in the nearby lakes were too expensive for a simple overnight. Breakfast was available, we did not have it. Rooms were OK, nothing special. Easy parking. The hotel is located in a small agri village. We went to the nearby town of Holzkirchen for dinner. Many interesting dining options and a great ice cream parlor.

There was no elevator.

We came during the night, but hotel sent me all instructions how to access our room upfront. Everything is locked with electronic lockers so you only have to have the code. Room was clean, tidy and spacious. Bathroom basic, but clean, hairdryer and small shower gels included. We booked it due to proximity to highway, location is great.

There were a lot of mosquitos in our room (also previous guests had same issue, because there were many smashed mosquitos on the walls). Breakfast was expensive - we didn’t booked it but went to next village to bakery instead.

Nice small hotel close to the autobahn. Clean rooms with everything you need. Nice restaurant and bar downstairs. The hotel also offers breakfasts. For those who travel by car and want to relax - just what you need.

I reserved a room that was only suitable for 2 people instead of four. When the hotel let me know this, I wanted to reserve a bigger room, but was not available. I told them to cancel my reservation but instead they charged me for the room, whic I could not stay in because it did not suit for all of us. Yes, it was last minute (I actually have not seen their response - it was sandwiched between messages and I thought 2 adults + 2 children are not a problem as I know from previoius experience they have that kind of room. Anyway, it was a last minute cancellation, which I understand but they were not able to offer the room I needed so I could not take their service. Instead we were driving with 2 small children 12+ hours. We stayed here a few times already in the past and many more times in the restaurant when we were in the area but never again. I do not think it is fair (since they did not loose money on ny reservation as there were several same type of rooms available. I could book another room for another 2 people, true but this is not we wanted. We wanted to stay together as a family in one room.) and their communication is poor. For us, we will be avoiding both the hotel and the restaurant in the future.

For us a convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff, but, sadly, the restaurant was not operating.

Staff disregardless, hard and incomprehensive. Did not feel welcomed at all.

The accommodation has a very convenient location as it is situated very close to the highway. The breakfast was very good, and the room was clean and comfortable.

Location

Too little value for money. No more restaurant. No reception. Access to hotel and rooms via code. Code to room was difficult to operate so we could not lock the door if we left the room.

The owners were charming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The owner helped us park our long 4x4 plus trailer.

It was perfect

Handy for the main road. Alas restaurant closed, but there’s plenty nearby. Breakfast was plentiful and staff welcoming and helpful ( in English too).

All a bit tired and needs a lift. Suffering from a shift in consumer habits.

We booked this hotel for one night to take a rest from our journey. It fully served the purpose. Comfortable and tidy room, charming hosts, good food, idyllic countryside location.

family room does not have 2 but 1 double bed in it. the bunk beds make a lot of noise so the squealing kept us awake.

Excellent hotel on the road to Italy. It's nice that it also has a good restaurant so no need to go outside for something to eat. Staff is very friendly and helpfull including providing us with the best route's to travel to move around traffic Jams etc.
