Pros +
- Stylish, boutique minimal styling, beautiful position, serene, welcoming hosts, amazing pool and spa.
- amazing location and room, nice pool
- We had a stunning room with a great terrace overlooking the lake. The spa is lovely though the sauna was out of order during our visit, however we were gifted with one free access to the spa once I had raised this point upon checking out, which we appreciated. The decoration in the hotel is also lovely, and the food in the restaurant was really tasty.
Cons -
- The front desk guy who checked us in might be the most arrogant and rude person I have ever experienced at a hotel front desk. The thing he seemed to care about most was telling us breakfast was not included because we used Booking.com instead of booking direct.
- I don't mind per se, but to improve business I would point out that:1) when I called to book the restaurant and spa the man at reception was rather blunt (no welcoming skills), though he was more pleasant when we checked in - so this could put people off. 2) also, the lady at reception upon checking out was also very blunt and did not give any smile, nor did she ask us how we enjoyed our stay, nor did she ask how we enjoyed the restaurant or anything, even when I informed that we had stayed with them previously etc.. So although the hotel is really lovely the hospitality/people skills could do with being better to match the lovely decorations and setting. (except the waitress for the evening meal who did have a smile for us and was friendly)
- Not a 4-star room : Small, uncomfortable bed (no mattress topper which is pretty standard these days), mini-fridge did not work and no water, tea or coffee facilities in the room.Dangerous handrail into spa pool.Understaffed : Masseuse was also the receptionist and also the breakfast server hence Reception door was locked at arrival because she was giving a treatment in the spa! We had to phone and wait nearly 15 minutes outside.Noise / false advertising: I was informed the restaurant was being refurbished when I tried to book it prior to our stay, but was offered their restaurant “Au Cheval Blanc” 5 minutes away being informed it would open exceptionally on the date I requested seeing as the hotel restaurant was not available. On arrival we were told that both restaurants were closed, as though my prior conversation could not have taken place. Also, the restaurant on the premises was not being refurbished but - just below our room - was being completely rebuilt so there was constant noise and workmen appearing on the roof next to the bedroom window so had to close the curtain meaning no lake view!

best hotel bed I have ever slept in, spa facilites excellent as well as wellness treatments, food was excellent as well
Lovely spa and super massages thanks to a great masseuse. Generous-sized breakfast.

Awful
It is ridiculess to sell a poor room like this on wellness-level for 260 €. We even didn‘ t spend the night so disappointing it was. Also we asked for partial money back. No reaction.Awful, really….
Very nice spa and services, high quality produce used for breakfast, and spacious modern rooms with very comfortable beds. The spicy pic over the bed was a nice touch.
The see-through door in the bathroom limits privacy.
The spa, great massages! The personal was very kind, the restaurant very good.
Very close to The street
Location was good. Spa seems very nice though we did not go in.The main areas and the dinning (not open unfortunatelydue to COVID) were lovely
The rooms desperately need redoing! The bathrooms are very old, the curtains are too small to stop the sun coming in in the morning.I think a part of the hotel has been very nicely done up- we ended up sleeping in a room that was not done up at all leaving a poor customer experience due to the price we paid for that room.
Spa was very nice: swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam bath, sauna and rest area. However, due to Covid had to be reserved at a specific time, but as a positive you had it all for yourself!Rooms are very clean and functional.Breakfast was served in your room due to covid, but sufficient and good.
Designs of the rooms is a bit outdated for this price.
The room was spacious and the spa was great, especially having it to ourselves with COVID restrictions.
The food was really good, however I found it a little over priced for the amount you get especially the breakfast option.
The private spa
The camping in front of the hotel that unfortunately damages the environment which would be more fascinating. The road is very close (bridge) but we don’t mind as we like cars.
Good service, nice location, creative kitchen and great list of champagne and wine.
The place is overpriced, quality of coffee is quite poor.
Booked a junior suite which, given current COVID restrictions, is almost indispensable if you want to avoid eating on your bed. The room, with sofa and dining table, was correctly appointed. Nothing to be blown away by, but all in all we had the impression of getting decent value for money. The dining experience was very pleasant, quality of the dishes was outstanding, compliments to the chef in these difficult times. The honesty-bar is a very creative way to deal with the restrictions and was highly appreciated. The spa-sauna-hammam session was equally wonderful, pure bliss. The fact that we booked a suite led to a pretty hefty price tag for a single night stay, but we nevertheless spent a wonderful time here and I would have no hesitation coming back.
The hotel is built alongside the main road in the area, which leads to noise and distracts somewhat from the remote Ardennes feeling we were hoping for. The breakfast is expensive and was served in a chaotic style, something clearly went wrong there.
Bed was comfortable and spa was enjoyable
Unfortunately the rest of the experience was not at the level of a 4-star hotel, but most dissapointing were "pictures vs reality" - you expect to be in the woods / nature, but instead are overloooking a road, which no picture shows! Overall the hotel is very outdated, rooms & bathroom have not been renovated since at least 15 years, there are cracks in the walls. Food portions were small, coffee received in a broken cup - lots of elements that were not at the level of expectations for a 4-star property and quite a high price it goes with
No dinner. No breakfast
The breakfast/ dinner was very good
We struggled a little with the language so had to have the correct person to speak with
Offers some excellent and rare wines
