Pros +
- Comfortable, clean, updated room. Great staff. Beautiful grounds.
- It was amazing on all counts.
- Very nice garden. Breakfast was awesome. Room is very clean. Nice design.
Cons -
- No cream or sugar for coffee in room 47. Locked out of building (rm 47) because key card inoperable. Was told key card cant be removed from card slot used for lighting. Being locked out of building would have been VERY inconvenient later in the evening
- Nothing within walking distance but it’s not a big issue.
- Bed mattress was a bit too hard for us.

We liked the breakfast and the dinner we had at the restaurant. The steak was one of the top best 3 we ever had.
Bed mattress was a bit too hard for us.
Beautiful location. Wonderful town. Restaurants at hotel and in town.
Breakfast buffet is probably very good, but not for a quick bite with coffee..
Location quiet easy patking
Beautiful location and setting. The grounds were well kept and everything was quite modern. Food was very tasty, but breakfast needed more options.
Poor sound-insulation in the rooms, could easily hear others walking around. Some dust issues under the beds. The service was very slow and food took a long time to arrive. Restaurant staff need extra training.
bad breakfast every day same breakfast no more choice.. also the waiter one girl she has lack of professionalism skills
the view and place
The location was great, one of my favorite places in the whole Europe. The staff was friendly, and on a few occasions went an extra mile to accommodate small asks. The grounds are beautiful and pleasant. Plenty of room to walk around, and for our 5 year old to run and play. The room was nice, we loved that we could open a window for fresh air. Having a small fridge was a plus. Located in between Utrecht and Amsterdam, we had good day trips to both places with ease.
The only thing for me personally was not having A/C. Since the room is a setup of 2 floors, and the comfortable bed is on the second floor where it is much hotter, I slept on a less comfortable couch downstairs because it was cooler. Small things, not enough to change the 10rating.
The location and grounds were peaceful and right on the water. The children enjoyed watching the robot lawnmowers. The breakfast room is wonderful and the quality of the breakfast items excellent, although we would have appreciated a slightly broader selection (and labels for allergies).
Beautiful location and lovely gardens.
It somehow lacked 'warmth', or impersonal. Unloading luggage over grass and gravel areas
I have reduced mobility and had requested a room near the restaurant and no stairs or steps as I find them very difficult to manage On arrival there was one person on reception, he was on the phone, then serving at the bar and answering questions from other guests. Eventually, having mentioned my request for a ground floor room he explained that we were to stay in a new block a walk away from the restaurant and with several steps (8 or so) to the restaurant which I would need to manage at least twice a day (breakfast and dinner each day). Not a great start. Having also requested a quiet room with a good view, we were put in a room facing the very busy car park with cars parked right outside our window. (they seemed to have a conference or something going on. Garden and surroundings very pleasant if we could have seen them. We did tell them that it would have been better if they had said they could not accommodate my needs when we were booking and we could have found a more suitable hotel for our needs. Food was good.
See above, more transparency when we booked
The Garten is soo beautiful, it's happy to sit in the terrace having breakfast.Don't miss a Walking around after dinner or before breakfast.
The breakfast is a bit simple
It’s perfectly located, and the interiors are very well designed not to mentions that the room smelled fresh and was spotless clean. I would definitely come back here.
Location is lovely . Rooms are really nice and clean.
Staff not so helpful. Overpriced but no amenities or even no add ons in room.
The location is stunning, staff are very accommodating and the bed was very comfortable. This really is perfect getaway, especially if you are used to city life. We were lucky with the weather, which made it even more picturesque. We rented a sloop for the afternoon and travelled through Breukelen and Maarssen, we didn't want to go back yet, so we phoned the hotel and asked for an extension on the rental, which they kindly allowed. Also we were given a late check out at a very reasonable rate. In this place, if you ask for something, they do their best to make it happen. Couldn't ask for more. Food recommendation: The steak tartaar and foie royal were incredible - I could eat them all day!
My only main criticism is on the catering side of things. Dinner service could have used an extra staff member on Saturday night, as the full restaurant seemed a lot of them to deal with at once. It was quite a while before we got menus and some bread, but the food was indeed delicious when it came.Breakfast could offer a little more options, with the hot food only being offered in small portions and fresh orange juice only available from the waiting staff instead of self serve like everything else. One last note, the lights in the room could use a dimmer switch, the LED reading lights are bright enough to scorch the earth. Would be nice to have something in between! These are only minor criticisms, we really loved it here!
excellent again, front office staff super friendly, thanks for the upgrade the suite was perfect and definitely what I will book next time.
Lovely location and easy to reach. Options to rent boats and bicycles were great! Reception staff were super friendly and helpful.
Gravel from the parking to the rooms made it very difficult to roll luggage but staff offered to help. Towels were below par and really small, hard.Sadly had a poor experience at the restaurant Bloei
Quiet location, yet central to Amsterdam, Utrecht, Haarlem. It is nice to come home to a village and get away from the busyness of a city. The pictures are accurate, it truly is that lovely. Cody, checked us in and was all charm, helpful and most hospitable.
Beautiful location, we have direct view of the river. The room was very spacious with nice high ceiling. Great bed and good show.
