Pros +
- Too cold for the pool in mid-October but a lovely property with views of mountains and distant sea. Our room had an amazing sunroom perfect for sitting, admiring the view, allowing in fresh air and yoga. And, the breakfast was excellent ... plenty of proteins including meats and tortilla, fruits, plain yogurt, toast, etc.
- Obviously it’s a professional team to running this hotel, really nice taste of decoration!! Highly recommend to booking the suite,it’s worth to stay, enjoy the quiet atmosphere of countryside, would like to back one day
- Looks nice
Cons -
- Would have liked a dinner option onsite as walking to the nearest bar after Camino walking felt far (10 minutes or so). The mattress was firm which I typically like but for some reason the bed/bedding felt somewhat austere.
- Nothing, everything is good!!
- Bad sewer smell in room 11. Lots of plumbing noise from other rooms. Also noise from the highway which is busy despite looking countrified. The shutter on the window didn’t work.

Excellent service. Spectacular view.
The hotel worked hard to provide meal options for those travelling without a car. The location looking up the coast is great, however it is removed from having restaurants nearby.
Stunning views and property
The pool was listed as open during our stay, however, it was closed in reality
Really spectacular place, historic, gorgeous, seems like a former castle! My room was perfect, clean, comfortable. Staff very kind and thoughtful.
Can’t think of anything I didn’t like!
Beautiful interior. Spacious and comfortable rooms. Old world charm. Beautiful sea and Mountain View’s.
Not close to restaurants. Would be nice if they had snacks for purchase in the evening.
The breakfast was good, and the rooms were very nicely styled. There are different classes of hotels, and you can feel that this one is really at the top.
If I had any complaints, it was that the mattress was a little stiff, but it wasn't too much of a problem.
It's rustic interior, including a burning open fire during the winter afternoons on the days we visited, it's rural & quiet environtment, the kind, friendly and helpful staff, with a special thanks to Silvia who made us feel very much at home and provided us with good advise. This combined made it a wonderful stay for us, and thus comes highly recommended!
The hotel was gorgeous, the common areas decoration was very unique. The views from the terrace to the mountains and the Espasa beach priceless. The staff were super friendly. We will definitely come back!!!
It is a very luxurious hotel! Almost a Parador! It is certainly the nicest hotel I stayed in on my Camino route. Clean, quiet, comfortable! And the grand Common Room is spectacular! The staff is great, and very helpful!
Lovely accomodation, with 2 spacious lounges and terrace outdoor seating.Rooms comfortable and the view towards the sea was stunning
Breakfast was fine but not as good as other breakfasts we have had
The most friendly atmosphere and receptionists, very caring and supporive. The ambience is very classy and the swimming pool great. From some ofvthe rooms you can see the sea :)
It was simply a delight. I felt transported to a better time. We had a separate sitting room as well as a TV room. The communal spaces are exceptional. The staff was extremely competent and helpful. Only because of them we knew we need to stock up for our next leg of the Camino. I would love to stay there again just to experience it with more time.

Sylvia is an absolute gem, she was so nice and friendly Hotel on lovely groundsOn the Camino Great common areas, wine and drinks available, you fill in what you had to drink and pay before you leave
We didn't know there was a poolNo food served on site, there is a small hotel about 1km before the hotel, eat there before you check in
It is a transformed estate with the best common areas on the Camino so far. Staff are exceptionally accommodating.
Good location very clean , great view , happy guest, the coffee for breakfast should be better but this was addressed, so all good
Julia was outstanding! So kind and helpful in every way. The hotel, which used to be a private home, has retained its warm ambiance while being elegant at the same time. The rooms were modern and very comfortable. The pillows were delightful as there were different types and thicknesses!?The views of the sea were breathtaking.
Los Caspios is an old quirky hotel situated outside La Isla. It's appeal is for certain type of clientele with transport options to get them there and access local restaurants etc.We paid extra for a room with a sitting area with views to the sea and mountains. It was a nice place to sit and relax. The kind staff provided us with food because we were pilgrims and there is no restaurant in the hotel or nearby. This was much appreciated.
I would have preferred to have more facilities I.e. a restaurant and a bar. There is however an honesty bar.
Friendly staff, good quality rooms and very clean hotel. Great location in the town.
