Pros +
- Nice views
- Excellent breakfast and dinner., Friendly staff. View on the stream.
- The building was beautiful and location nice. Our view from the sun porch was beautiful looking up the waterway. The breakfast buffet was top notch. I was happy they had a place to store our bicycles.
Cons -
- Rooms are a bit dates. The bathroom needs to be refreshed
- We had dinner in the bar due to rainy weather (didn't want to go out). The burger was way undercooked and the waiter didn't ask for preference ahead of time.
- Very dated hotel, even the TV didn't work - probably because it was about 15 yrs old.

We have stayed at a few Paradors and this is a really nice Parador - we only stayed one night. Our view (enclosed balcony) overlooking the water and the city of Castropol was really good and I would definitely opt for to pay for this view again. Overlooking the cargo ship loading area far below was actually intriguing. Breakfast was very good and worth the value. We had dinner in town since there are a lot of choices. Having hotel parking provided is a plus and right across the street.
Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff. Terrific location!
Beautiful room with a superb view. Very quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious dinner and an excellent buffet breakfast. Had expected to pay extra for secure parking but it was included.
We had a wonderful room overlooking the water. It was beautiful and large and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. It was in a wonderful location for walking into town and down by the water. Lovely experience.
The room was clean, and the view (when you look over the concrete logistics hub below the hotel) was good.
Very dated hotel, even the TV didn't work - probably because it was about 15 yrs old.
Just a short stay but everything was very good. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.
Nothing really, all good. Tea/coffee in the room would be nice.
Good breakfast.
Having to cross road to get to car park. Limited menu for dinner, no menus in bar area for snacks and light meal options - only realised they were available when someone else ordered food.
Room position. Breakfast and dinner. Easy parking.
Room was spacious with a good view from terrace which had limited value due to flies. Public areas were nicely decorated and furnished.
SERVICE ! Appalling at both check in and out. Did not cater to international clients eg meal times and bar and snack service was advertised as being open all day but in fact was only open for food options at the same times as the restaurant. Very slow wifi. Range of breakfast cereals and yoghurts was very poor and eggs and bacon were inedible
The views from this hotel are stunning. We had a spacious superior room with its own little enclosed verandah where you could sit and watch all the boating action in the estuary. The room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable and quiet. The restaurant, with this same river view, served very good food - breakfast had lots of choice. The receptionist was very helpful. Safe parking just opposite the hotel was a bonus.

Loved the staff especially Victoria/Valerie on reception She was so helpful. Our room was fabulous. The view, the comfort. Breakfast lovely. Would return
Breakfast pretty basic. The receptionist was having an argument with another client when we arrived, so not a good start. In comparison to other Paradores we've stayed in, I wouldn't go back or recommend it. It needs a good update. Very basic and disappointing.
The view from the front terrace is stunning and the service from the bar staff was excellent. Parking good and the breakfast was excellent
For a tariff of £195 we received a room on a lower floor which was not well lit enough for my partially sighted wife. The corridors were of the same standard and worked from a PIR that did not stay on long enough. Everything in the room creaked and needed some oil. Our room overlooked an internal featureless patio area that was starved of light. The bathroom is in dire need of an update and the whole experience lacked the quality expected from a Parador
It was all ok. Staff were nice, polite and helpful. Parking was good. Drinks in the bar were good too
Woken in the night by loud music playing somewhere in or near the hotel.
Gated secure parking across the road but at additional cost. Location was good, close to everything
The room didn't have the best view and was overlooked by the restaurant so had to keep the shutters closed
Lovely setting overlooking estuary, room and bathroom very large with great views. Restaurant Food and service good. Breakfast choice very good.
No tea and coffee in room Long corridors! Some Staff could have been friendlier
