About
Less than 328 ft from the Asturian coast, this boutique hotel blends the classic, the luxurious and the rustic in its interior design. It features free Wi-Fi access. La Casona de Pio is the beautiful result of the renovation of a fish-salting factory, 328 feet from Cudillero Port. The property’s original stone walls look fantastic against classic furnishings, elegant woodwork and decor like that of a rural home. Bedrooms feature flat-screen TVs. Interiors are decorated further with carefully selected paintings on the walls and antique items. Casona de Pío serves a fresh, home-made breakfast in the dining room. Homegrown eggs or bacon are available to order.

- La Casona de Pio is absolutely charming. The Staff was very welcoming when we arrived. Our room was very clean. This hotel is walking distance from the ocean and many of the restaurants, or you can wonder up the hillside to the light house.

Cons -
- cant htink of anything
- This isn't really a "didn't like" in any way, but difficult parking is basically a given in Cudillero. We ended up parking in a lot down by the port and using just our backpacks instead of full suitcases. This would be the same at any other hotel in town.
- The town is sad. It is no longer a fishing village but has become a tourist town with B&Bs and restaurants.

Extraordinarily friendly and helpful staff. My wife accidentally left a travel journal behind when we checked out, and they went out of their way to scan and send the pages to us once we contacted them. Exceptional breakfast as well.

Breakfast was amazing! Classic food items were offered that I hope to imitate once we get home. The owner was lovely, welcoming, and charming. It was a lovely day and evening.

Nothing. We couldn’t even stay. The access was a three story set of steep stairs coming up from an alley. My husband is 77 years old and I am 67 and we had to drag our luggage all the way up just to get to the reception. The parking was mandatory by the city 15-20 minutes away! Then you still had to pay and go back every 24 hrs to pay more. It was raining heavily.
In addition to my comment upstairs the receptionist was rude, I told her we could not possibly stay under these conditions -climbing up and down stairs and walking of to the parking and running to pay for the parking every certain hours like that. She refused to give our money back when I told her we could not stay there! Awful experience. Awful.
location was great. Staff were helpful and sweet. Room was nice - clean and comfortable. Breakfast was yummy. Building was interesting and beautiful - they did a great job converting it to a hotel.
Nice hotel right in the center of Cudillero. It was quiet and the view was good.
At first it was hard to find it based on the Google Maps location.
Comfortable beds. Very good breakfast. Excellent location.
Quaint, beautiful, off the beaten path. Wonderful little fishing village on the north coast of Spain. Room was very comfortable. Nice home cooked breakfast with more food than you can eat.
WiFi didn’t really work in the bedroom areas (we were told this on check in), but worked well in a little sitting/common area. 5G also worked in the rooms.
Great location, helpful staff.
The room was a bit dated.
Loved Cudillero. Very beautiful little town on the scenic coast. Hotel was very centrally located, and was very nice. Good breakfast as well.
I love this little “off the path” hotel. Been here a couple of times. Great little town for for a two night stay. The staff are the nicest around. Can’t say enough about the fabulous breakfast.
Absolutely no complaints.
Very nice property , clean and with pretty flowers outside, very typical.
Well located, clean and comfortable!Staff was very nice!
This is a charming hotel with great staff in a wonderful town. Our room was a good size with a nice shower, balcony and patio. The bed was adequate. No air conditioning but we had a nice cross breeze with the windows open. The staff, Maria and Diana, were very friendly and helpful and spoke English. The breakfast was huge with a lot of breads and pastries and delicious omelets made to order. The town is so charming, we walked all the pathways up many stairs and enjoyed spectacular sunsets.
There is no parking near the hotel. You can load and unload your baggage near the hotel then park at the marina a half mile away. You must go to the marina and pay for the parking each day. This is true for any hotel or apartment you stay in within the town. As others have noted, it’s a little difficult to find the hotel and there is no elevator. Not a problem for us but may be for others. There was some noise outside the room at night due to the restaurants nearby, but it ended by midnight.
A comfortable traditional style hotel. The wooden balcony was delightful. Situated in the heart of Cudillero. The staff at reception were lovely, we arrived dripping wet on our bicycles. Our bicycles were securely stored in a storage space at ground level. We enjoyed a few hours in a sitting area and the staff kindly made tea and coffee for us. A big breakfast cooked on site (additional cost) which was great. Comfortable beds and efficient radiator heaters.
Breakfast was wonderful - so much food, all delicious, and the dining room had a lovely atmosphere.
Beautiful old building which is well looked after and clean. Room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was great (if very large) but they let us take away what we didn’t finish.
WiFi wasn’t great and couldn’t do work in the room. No tea and coffee facilities in room.
Nice staff and a great location in Cudillero.
We stayed in room 101 (right next to the office and front door) and it was pretty loud, especially if you’re a light sleeper. The wifi had a poor connection and we couldn’t use any of the apps on the smart TV.
The property was great but the welcome was poor. We were driving and did not appreciate the difficulty brining a car to CUDILLERO. The person at reception was not very helpful. While I understand we don’t speak English, everywhere we have been people have been very helpful. Not at La Casino de Pio. to make things worse there were very few restaurants open for dinner because we were early in the season. There was no information given to us. So instead of the wonderful seafood I was expecting - as we were staying at a fishing village, we had the worst meal we have had in our whole trip- at twice the price. a little help from the reception would have gone a long way. The biggest disappointment was that I booked two single beds but when we arrived we were told we could only have a double bed - despite Booking.com showing they still had twin rooms available. Nor were we told they had a restaurant for dinner and breakfast. All in all, very poor service.
