    Pros +

    • The hotel is perched on a hilltop with a stunning view of the river — absolutely beautiful and peaceful.I really enjoyed the spa area; it was relaxing and well-maintained.Dinner at the restaurant was exceptional — the food, service, and atmosphere exceeded my expectations.
    • Wonderful room and breakfast and facilities.
    • Without a doubt, this hotel stood out as the highlight of our two-week Portugal adventure. We were captivated by the unbeatable views, and the amenities like the indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam bath, and reading room were truly spectacular. Everything was exceptionally clean and well-maintained.

    Cons -

    • Our check-in experience was a bit disappointing. The process took quite a while, and we felt the reception staff could have been more welcoming and friendly.
    • Everything was great the rest is just preference is esthetic. Around the hot tub next to the pool (indoor) wish the rock and the trees were either more natural looking or removed all together. The outside and landscaping is amazing.
    • Nothing to say, I really enjoyed everything.

I was really impressed by the beautiful design of a hotel and it’s design integrated in nature, beautifully combination of taste, elegance and natural ambience. Total attention to details, everything clean, organized with care, amazing spa and tasty dinner with a reasonable price. Seriously I highly recommend

The spa area was amazing with beautiful views. In summertime there’s also a great outside pool. The views all in all from every location in the property were amazing. The restaurant was superb in both breakfast and dinner. Don’t miss the little sign in the breakfast that allows you to order special meals. The rooms are huge and you’re able to cook easily if you wish. There are many good hiking trails around and it’s not so far from the national park.

The shower isn’t so good, the water pressure quite low.The spa hours (especially indoor pool hours) should be a bit longer. The jacuzzi - sounds funny but very hard to maintain and not warm enough.

Great location with amazing view. The staff are friendly and the indoor pool is awesome.

Awesome breakfast, very nice staff (all super friendly), great indoor pool (the outdoor one is also very good but was very cold)

The sofa and outdoor furniture aren't very confortable

I loved everything. The swimming pool, spa, play room for kids, breakfast. The house had all we needed. The nature around was amazing.

The view is stunning, the spa is amazing, and the pool is beautiful. Very polite staff. That's all.

This property is under construction. A new hotel is being built next to the accommodations, so the noise was annoying every day during my stay (and I was looking for a quiet place). Workers were yelling at each other, plus the machine noises and people around the house several times. The construction is just beginning, so probably until next year, the guests looking for a quiet place will get annoyed just like I did.I also didn't like my accommodation (the Casa Sudro), even though it's very well-equipped, it's not comfortable at all, the bed was bad, and the light inside the house was extremely bright. Again, I was looking for a quiet place with a stunning view to rest my mind for a few days, and I found a very noisy place during the day and a very bright light during the night with no chance to dim it (I had two options: the spotlight mode, or the total darkness mode), no lampshade. The breakfast was a shame. I had the same option all week, and it wasn't good—not tasty, for sure. The same bad croissant and the same bad cake just pretending to be something new, but surprise, surprise... it was the same cake every day. So poor. I was disappointed. (and surprise, surprise again... the construction workers on the upper floor with loud, noisy machines and yelling... when you're just waking up and looking for a coffee... that was nonsense, clueless).I purchased a promise of a peaceful place, on top of the mountain, quiet, but I received a noisy and annoying experience for five days.

A perfect stay - 2BR house in a small village set in a spectacular location. Top notch spa, excllent restaurant with the best coffee and omelettes we had in Portugal. The people who run the place are extremely nice and hardworking

    Everything was perfect

Most of the staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast was really good and the staff made themselves available to prepare some dishes. They left coffee capsules, tea and wood for the fireplace for free. The view from the listing was from another world, very well located. We were able to rent caps to use in the indoor pool and jacuzzi. The robes and towels were available in the house.

We were not able to use the sauna after as the setup was not working correctly. We asked 3x to staff members to turn it on. The decoration inside the house did not match the whole vibe of the listing. Lighting was poor in the bathroom mirror which make it hard to use it.

People are very nice and helpful. We arrived in the middle of the night (around 03:45) due to flight trouble and they left us instructions for pick-up of keys. We really appreciated the offered solutions. Thanks Ernani. Our luggage arrived 2 days later and they received them on our absence. Perfect! There are around 10 or 12 small bungalows, arranged internally like apartments, with terraces and outrageous views over the valley. There are modern kitchen equipment, with induction hearth, stove, dish washer and also some pans. If you are a cook you will miss some pans and additional equipment like mixers, but for usual cooking it is sufficient. There is a heated internal pool, very nice as we stayed 5 days in autumn and had a lot of rain, wind and low temperatures.Head caps are required and can be bought on reception for 4 € each. We had our breakfast included. During the days where there were enough guests, rich and varied options were available. As people got reduced, they asked us at night before to choose food from a menu. No desperdice. Perfect! We didn't eat at restaurant, but it smelled very well during the initial days and they offer some nice combinations at a relatively high price level (this seems to be inherent to the region), but we are not really enabled to evaluate this point.Rooms were clean on arrival. In bathroom there is a heating device which allows hanging and drying of bath towels. Very nice as this small detail is often neglected at hotels. As the bungalows are placed on a steep hill, it is adequate more for a bit sporty people.Access by road is also steep but asphalted and reachable by standard vehicles. We are planning to return to Peneda-Gerês (under better weather conditions) and would certainly consider to stay at Pousadela again.

Some details could be better:- Shower handle support was partially broken, leaking and not repaired even asked twice.- There was a thin lateral water jet coming out of the nozzle of the tap, wetting the sink support, if you open the tap too much. It was a bit annoying and not repaired even after notice at reception.- The shower cabin has no door, which is comfortable for the entry, but wetted the bath room a bit, especially the floor towel. Disagreeable for the second bathing person.- The door of the bathroom was difficult to close and had to be slammed or pulled with additional effort, so much that the handle came off to our hands. This was repaired quickly during our absence on the day of the claim.- We had to guess some functions of the electronic and electrical devices. Copies of instructions manuals could help.

It's such a fabulous location in Geres. The views couldn't get much better! The staff at the restaurant were super lovely and breakfast delicious. They provide. Great food delivery service to the property for those wishing to stay in. Even if the facilities weren't the most impressive, the spa service was really good too.

Front of house staff really unresponsive and deflecting most questions. We were quite disappointed to find out there was significant construction going on at the location, loud noises throughout the day and we were never informed that was going to be the case. Rubbish wasn't collected during our four-day stay.

The spa, the internal pool, the restaurant in the hotel the nice staff

    10BethPosted on: 10-9-2023

Stunning hillside location, the infinity pool looking out over the mountains and the lake at sunset was just amazing, view from the outdoor terrace tables was the same. Room was a full self catered apartment with kitchen/dining area/sofa then bedroom/bathroom and balcony. Plenty of parking space. Really wonderful staff, friendly, helpful and accommodating. 10/10 would recommend and would visit again.

Be careful which room you book as some are on a separate site to the restaurant and the turn off the main road/drive up to the hotel is a little challenging
