Pros +
- The staff were great. We got in late after walking 25+ miles on the camino del norte. We were hungry and tired and the restaurant next door was about to close. The staff at the Miramar were extremely helpful in getting us some food and drinks. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable
- The view of Laredo was about the only thing this hotel had going for it. My room did have a dehumidifier.
- It gives you a good view of the city
Cons -
- This 3-Star hotel should in fact have 0 stars. The booking.com pictures do not reflect the current condition of the property and show a property during its glory days which are long passed. Bookers beware. The outlets in my room were disconnected from the wall. There was an extension cord running from the outside of the hotel underneath my balcony door and plugged into my wall. Definitely didn’t feel safe. There was no AC in this hotel and even on a mild evening the room had very little ventilation, so I slept hot. A fan would have been nice. There were ants in the dining area and also ants crawling on the buffet table food at breakfast time. There was also a little black millipede crawling on the dining room floor.
- There is no reception at night and until 8 am. There is a phone number you are supposed to use 24 hours but they did not answer. Be also aware that there is nothing around. The city is actually 1.5 km away. Finally: if you book with breakfast, this is served at 8:30 am. Not before that.
- Cold,no breakfast, small room,, balcony door rattling all night with the wind ,no WiFi so and on

Cold,no breakfast, small room,, balcony door rattling all night with the wind ,no WiFi so and on
good location, great views
building was tired and dated , grounds overgrown, pool area and furniture old and not usable. No staff most of the time, no restaurant or bar worth mentioning. Very overpriced.
Very poor
Not well maintained. No food available. Felt creepy and dirty.
The property was dated. The hotel appeared to be 30 years old old and it shows its age
Wifi connection did not reach the room. The safe did not work. The balcony could not be locked. Old blankets. Not even a glass or paper cups to drink water. The rooms had to be opened with an actual key and the lock was flimsy. The windows were opaque from the weather and probably dirty. The curtains were ancient. The only chair in the room was filthy. The TV had 3 channels and a whole bunch of of radio stations.
Friendly staff close to motorway walking distance to the town
Poor breakfast
Beautiful view
Hotel very run down . Grass not cut. Rooms average
The young lady at the front desk was welcoming and efficient. Everything was spotlessly clean.
Very pretty Art Deco property with wonderful views of Laredo town and beach
Tired.
Good breakfast. Great parking.
Bit dated,
Nothing- photos do not reflect experience. I’d say those photos were taken 30 years ago & no upkeep has been done since then. It’s a really run down hotel. Shower didn’t work in one of the rooms. I’m sure there was bed bugs in my bed. View is the only decent thing about it. You couldn’t use the pool or even sit outside the hotel. It’s far too expensive for what you get!
Everything
Beautiful view from our room. The room was very comfortable, clean and room.
It’s a little ways from the town.
Friendly staff
Lack of restaurant, a big minus due to location. Breakfast quite poor. Building looks tired. I do not like eating breakfast next to a pile of mattresses
Convenient location near motorway. Dog friendly
Very basic room. One towel provided. Unfriendly staff.
Very close to the motor way exit (which we wanted) rooms clean and bed comfortable. Coffee in the morning was very good.
Due to location there is some motorway noise. No restaurant and breakfast limited but good coffee. Staff could be more welcoming
It was a good location with views over the bay and town.
Disappointed that there was no food available.
Location. Views. Service
This is like an abandoned hotel. We booked the continental breakfast based on the website advertising that it would be unforgettable with the view. But there is one staff member who seems to work night and day. The hotel is practically abandoned. Breakfast was pre packaged everything . Fruit was old.
Its an abandoned hotel
