Pros +
- Lovely room and common areas, very friendly and helpful staff, great location -- will return!
- Beautiful landscaped and rustic. Loved the wood and stone rooms and the gardens. Stepped out by the road and could see the Temple of Aphaia. If my knee wasn’t messed up, I would have walked to see it in person. Photo is one that I took from the road by the hotel. The hostess was amazing and gave great recommendations. We ate dinner there and it was delicious. We left too early for breakfast, but definitely would have gotten it. If we come back, we would definitely stay here again!!
- The hotel is beautiful. We were very comfortable in our room and on the front “porch-like” area. Noti and Daphne were incredibly inviting, warm, and friendly. The rest of the staff were the same. Other guests were also very nice. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner there. The area is amazing and relaxing.
Cons -
- The only complaint was that my husband said a bed spring was stabbing him in the rib all night. My side was perfect though!
- The sheets were fairly low quality, and the bed wasn't the most comfortable in the world. Breakfast was pricey for the selection, and the dinner menu was sparce. Additionally, I accidentally left behind a pair of diamond earrings on my last day. When I emailed to let the staff know, I was told they only found one of them. I'm fairly positive the pair was together when I left, and I find it strange only one was found. Nothing against the staff, and I'm not saying they stole anything, but not being able to find the missing earring in a relatively small room is bizarre. Otherwise, a great stay in paradise!
- there was no hot water in the room. additionally the place advartises as a hotel and restaurant but the food they have there is not enough to be called a restaurant.

Such a beautiful property! The gardens were in full bloom, and there were so many little nooks you could tuck yourself into to read, eat, etc. Notis and the staff were very friendly, and always took the time to help with whatever you needed.

Beautiful and quiet location! The facilities are clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and can help you out with anything you ask for. Breakfast is very nice with several things to choose from.
A Couple’s Romantic GetawayMy partner and I stayed at Vagia Traditional Hotel for a romantic getaway, and it was absolutely magical. The atmosphere is so charming and intimate, with a traditional Greek vibe that made us feel like we were in a fairytale. Notis and his team were incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed while still giving us plenty of privacy. The breakfast was a highlight—fresh, homemade, and served in the most picturesque garden setting. We loved the cozy room, which was spotless and beautifully decorated. The hotel’s location is perfect for couples, with a quiet beach just a short walk away and stunning views of the island. It truly felt like a paradise, and we left feeling more connected than ever. We can’t wait to return!
As a single girl traveling alone, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience at Vagia Traditional Hotel. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely safe and welcomed. Notis, the host, was incredibly kind and made sure I had everything I needed. The atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing—perfect for some much-needed "me time." The breakfast was delicious, with fresh, local ingredients, and I loved enjoying it in the beautiful garden. The staff treated me like family, and I even made friends with some of the other guests. The location is ideal, close enough to explore the island but far enough to feel like a true escape. I left feeling refreshed and already planning my next visit. Highly recommend this gem for solo travelers!
great location and staff. short stroll away from a lovely beach bar with lounge chairs on the beach and really nice food. highly recommend going up to the temple!
overall close to the beach so okay, just should be more honest.

Pretty
No hot water available. Breakfast was old and dry, the other guests commented that the same stale pastries were served for 5 days in a row
Super welcoming and friendly staff / owner. Beautiful location.
Lights didn't work, the water for the shower was a bit tricky. Breakfast baskets were expensive for using items from the breakfast buffet.
Beautiful accommodation. So well presented and gorgeous grounds. Friendly host. Near to a lovely beech
Supermarket a little distance if don't have own transport
the place was very clean and the bed was very big and comfy. the little balcony added a great touch and in general the place felt cozy and ideal to unwind and relax. linen and towels are frequently replaced with clean ones which was also very nice.
the small window of the bathroom needs some kind of netting for sure so as that no mosquitoes or flies can get inside, also the pressure of the water when taking a shower is a bit difficult to adjust.
Short and sweet Great place for reflection
Tasteful music and interior. Simplicity and charm combined. The small pats around are peaceful The beach is near and people seem to appreciate tourists and meet them
Passable
The cleaner was cleaning outside the steps with a towel that was used before from a costumer.I am sure the host will say she probably will bin it after,or he will say it wasn’t a towel that the costumers use. But I know what I am saying and what I was seeing.! The towel was placed after with the rest of them randomly any answer from you will be rejected.
Well decorated place, very cosy, the rooms and building give a "traditional" feeling, there are trees and plants around them. Quiet location. They clean well. Unusual interesting breakfast with traditional pastries.
When it is cheap the time you book it in fact it's not, the air conditioners either are not sized properly or restricted or both. They save money with this which unfortunately brings down the rating of the place to fair. Any room can be properly air conditioned in any weather if it works properly. In the 21st century they must have power sockets near the bed, I don't want to hear that it is holidays and we should not play with phones, everybody uses phones nowadays. Then when the breakfast costs 12e they ask extra money for coffee other than the filter coffee (eg espresso), I never understood this practice, it is a little sneaky.
The host was amazing and super helpful. The room was clean and had that old but well-preserved vibe. We did not have the chance to eat breakfast, but one night we dined at the place and really enjoyed the food and wine.
this is apparently the only hotel in town and it is very charming to look at. The owner has done a good job of creating a traditional, attractive property that makes you feel like you are stepping back in time. not too far to the beach and there are some reasonable restaurants within walking distance. I would say that the meals offered at the onsite restaurant are considerably more expensive than others. No shops here though and the bus is infrequent. The standard offering is one pillow each but to be fair when i asked for a second it was provided no question so i think the owner is quite responsive to requests.the beach here is good some days not so good other days but the prices for a sunbed and umbrella are half what they are in the busier more popular areas so all in all this suited us pretty well.
The shower has a curtain that sticks horribly to you, made worse by the positioning of the shower head that means you can't point it down enough to avoid the curtain. There is a fridge but no kettle to make your own cup of tea/coffee in the room. The breakfast is fine but really not how the pictures show it.
Charming truly traditional and very nice rooms, friendly owner and staff, quiet location.
The room was spacious and very pretty! I had a cat who came to visit me at my balcony every day. The hosts were super kind and friendly, always happy to help.
Taxi is the only way to get to the hotel if you’re arriving at the Agia Marina port. Other than the journey to the hotel, everything was great!
