Pros +
- The hotel was centrally located, right at the town square. Staff was friendly and check in was easy. The room was nice, with a comfortable bed, electric kettle and coffee/tea. There was a terrace overlooking the town square. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.
- The first night we were put in a room with twin beds and the room was airless. I did not like this room at all and would have never stayed here but luckily the second night they moved us to a room where the windows could be opened, the bathroom was much better, the space was more spacious and then we were able to enjoy being at the hotel. The two women at reception were wonderful and that also helped make the stay more enjoyable.
- We have stayed in Hotel Burrhus 3 times in the last year. Every stay has been very good . The staff are very polite and helpful. We were worried on the 1st visit when our flight was delayed and we missed the check in time, but on arrival staff were still there to meet us.
Cons -
- Had to keep the curtain drawn at all times, as the room was on the same level as an interior courtyard, sometimes used by guests, and they could otherwise look right into the room. The bathroom had no shower curtain or door to the shower, only a half wall, resulting in the bathroom floor getting very wet.

Charming old hotel in central location. Pleasant staff and good breakfast.
Easier to find parking.
Hotel is above a row of restaurants so dinner is just steps away.
The breakfast room is loud and a combat zone with other guest fighting for food. We were also charged for our bicycles to be put in the garage. I felt the owner took advantage of us with no recourse.
Central, staff very helpful, secure bike storage
Shame that bike storage is €5 per bike.
Excellent staff. Can't thank them enough, all were so friendly and helpful. Great location.
When the town is very busy car parking can be difficult to find. I've visited the Burrhus a number of times and have always taken a cycle. In the past any cycle repairs could be carried out within the garage, now this is not possible.
Location, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. My room was also well decorated and the bed, extremely comfortable. Very charming hotel in all.
Room is big, good view out of the window, 3 beds, right next to the main square/market.
Parking during market days, room is very bare, some of the stuff is falling apart. A confusing maze of hallways to get to a room.
The staff were really friendly, the hotel is in a great location right on the main square and the air conditioning was good.
My room was really dark, only bedside lamps in the main part of the bedroom.
It’s the best location in town.
I didn’t like being charged e5 per bike per night to put them in the garage, especially because the second night the bikes were moved into a dusty cellar.
Good value for money and centrally located hotel. Easily arranged a late / self check-in.
Many many stairs which was difficult to manoeuvre with lots of luggage. The bathroom did not feel completely clean, but adequate. In small towns like this, if you have a car, you need to go park it in a parking lot quite far away from the hotel.
It is lovingly restored and the location is superb!
The rooms are very small and it’s has no elevator.
The location was perfect and the breakfast was excellent. Staff were very attentive to our needs and answered all our questions without hesitation. The common areas were comfortable and very relaxing to visit in.Centrally located to walk to all the marvelous history that is found in Vaison-la-Romaine .
No elevator. None of us in our group were below the age of 60. We were on the 3rd floor and the curved staircase to get there was not easy to maneuver through at all...especially with luggage. If we were 30 years younger, we would have LOVED the Hotel Burrhus.
Breakfast was nice, color scheme was interesting, it was close to the Roman ruins, right on a main square, yet quiet.
Very well located in the heart of town. Great staff. Nice clean room. Comfortable bed and super terrace for breakfast overlooking the square.
Stairs up to reception and rooms. Not a problem if you’re fit.
The staff and location was excellent. The continental breakfast was nice.
We didn't like the mattress and pillows. The shower had no pressure or hot water.
The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was on the older side, but was perfectly adequate for our three-night stay. The bed was firm, which we really appreciated. The hotel was located on Vaison's central downtown square, which was about as convenient as it could be to restaurants, the tourist office, and the bus station. An excellent buffet breakfast was available for purchase. We especially enjoyed eating breakfast on the large, tree-shaded deck that overlooked the square.
Really, nothing.
- Responsive and very friendly staff, always listening and helpful, they were the best!- Great location in the heart of Vaison-la-Romaine, in walking distance to all sights, shops and restaurants- A nice terrasse where you can eat your store-bought food- Air conditioning in rooms very welcome when hot outside
- The hotel needs overall renovation, starting from loose plugs, to sound isolation (hotel room doors)- The tiles and paint in the rooms are oldfashioned, not to say ugly- The room equipment is more than basic and reminds of a youth hostel. Bathroom: no hair dryer, no shower curtain for the bath tub, no shower head holder. Bedroom: no headboards, very basic chairs and table, only one plug by the nightstand (you need to choose either to charge your phone or use the night table lamp), no mirror, no safe in closet.- The overall decoration in the hotel is artsy, however, it lacks some charm and personality (which could be achieved by placing nicer furniture, area rugs and plants) - photos online look better than reality- Very basic breakfast!
This was an unusual property and met my expectations. Nice Clean Room. Breakfast was really nice! wished I could have stayed longer. lots of places to eat and shop. the staff was phenomenal. there is no elevator but the staff is helpful should you need it. I needed a taxi back to the train station and everyone at the desk ensured and confirmed the taxi would be available the next morning and would take a credit card. I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and very kind staff.
