La Grotta

The hotel was perfectly located within the island with a beautiful oceanfront view. The service was impeccable. The kind staff were willing to help with everything you may need. Hotel offered a homemade breakfast which was delicious and well served. Honestly, La Grotta is one of the most amazing hotel ever !!!!

The location of the hotel is very good, just in front of the sea. They offer a free boat tour and the breakfast is fantastic. The staff is very helpful and positive.

The Staff is very nice, specially Alexandra. The rooms are clean and cleaned every day and change your towels.Room was OK size and it had a nice balcony overlooking the bay area. The location is a bit far, but it was perfect for us. And the complimentary boat trip was great!

The breakfast was a bit limited but it was ok.

Nice location in the port. Good restaurant at the hotel and nearby with sea view. Parking available. Boat trip to Navagio offered by the hotel ( unfortunately it was windy and we couldn’t go).

From the last floor balcony we cannot enjoy the full view because of the roof

It’s more than we hoped for . The checked in went easy and fast . Very very friendly woman at the reception . She always asked how our day was every time we passed . The free boat trip offered by hotel was exceptional. The room, the breakfast , the location are all perfect . Highly recommended. THankyou!

Excellent location near two nice small swimming beaches, many cafes & restaurants close by, and a mini mart too. The views of the harbour are lovely, and we enjoyed a wonderful sit down breakfast each morning on the restaurant balcony watching the boats & view. We loved the free boat trip to Navagio Beach & beautiful blue water swim spot…..that was a highlight. We would definitely stay here again if we return.

Such friendly staff, helpful and welcoming. Great, modern clean rooms with beautiful view to wake to, fab value for money and boat trip was a lovely extra.

Location is amazing with a small beach right outside the hotel & free sun loungers. Breakfast was nice with a selection of omelette, croissant, juice & coffee & the waiter serving us always greeted us with a smile

The room seemed clean at first glance but after a quick look around it was quite dirty. The fridge looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for a while. There were a pair of old socks & crusty bread on the balcony. The top over head shower didn’t work & looked filthy & the towel I was given looked like it had been pulled apart by a dog… The tour that is offered seems like a great deal since it’s free however the fumes from the boat made 10+ people vomit within 20 minutes! The only reason I wasn’t sick was because I managed to get to the front of the boat where the fumes didn’t get to me. I’m not sure what other paid tours would have been like but it ruined the experience. Finally, there was a storm on the island which shut down our ac. We arrived back at the hotel & there was no one to talk to at around 9pm… The next morning we checked out early to go to a different hotel.

Breakfast was good.

They gave me a room that was smelling really bad - like a sewage smell - it was so bad that it was difficult to sleep. The shower drain was not working - the bathroom and the room get floated with water... They should be ashamed of giving a so bad smelling room.They changed the room in the other day that was ok.

The property was really nice. The room looked very good, and we had view to the sea. The stuff was really friendly with us and very careful. We had also breakfast included, that was great. They have free sunbeds on the beach and also borrow us an umbrella for the sun.

I have just finished my week-long stay at this fantastic hotel in Zakynthos! The hotel is located in a charming neighborhood, close to a supermarket.The location is absolutely perfect—right on the beachfront with stunning views of the crystal-clear sea. My room was newly renovated and had a gorgeous view of the sea. The receptionist was kind and always ready to help with any requests. A special mention goes to Adriano, who served us breakfast every morning with a smile ;) One of the highlights was the excursion to the famous Shipwreck Beach, which was simply amazing.To top it off, the hotel surprised us with a small gift during our stay, which made the experience feel even more special. I can't recommend this place enough; it's the perfect hotel for a relaxing and memorable vacation in Zakynthos! Ilenia and Giulia ??

Lovely location with view to the sea and a small beach in front of the hotel. The restaurant close to the port is delicious. Various tour agencies for a boat trip to the Navaglio beach in the area.

The boat trip experience they offer is definitively not worthy. It's one of the big boat (different from the sail boat posted as a picture at the time of booking) smelling gasoline all time, crowded of people making the queue for a few minute bath. Appreciate the fact that is included in the price, but still is not a good practice to promote the environmental value of the area, definitively not in line with sustainable measures such beautiful places should take to survive, but rather aligned to the emerging overtourism practices that locals should be afraid of.

The Room is better than in the photos. The free tour to navaggio and blue caves is a must.They arrange me the contact of a Rentalcar to pick up in the port and drop off at the airport for a very good priceFor the price paid I think that no one can claim about the free breakfast

There is no elevator

Perfect location. Great room (301) with lovely view and balcony overlooking the main street and towards the sea. Super value. Very clean. The team at La Grotta were lovely, so friendly and made me feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. The coffee at breakfast was superb which surprised me as hotel coffee is usually mediocre.

Would have been nice to have a menu at breakfast. Balcony seats were uncomfortable.

Very welcoming staff, very friendly. Bedrooms very clean.

You couldn’t open the bathroom door fully without it banging on the toilet.

A great accommodation that should have 3 stars! Big room with a sea view with great staff, who gifted us an amazing boat ride! Breakfast was delicious at a table with a sea view. The receptionist even looked after our suitcase while we went swimming. They also have a parking lot. An amazing stay, will come again!

We arrived by ferry from Kefalonia with the hotel 5 minutes from the port. The bathroom was newly renovated and the room had a balcony with views over the water. A free boattrip and breakfast were included. The breakfast is a choice of omelette or bacon and eggs, toast, coffee and juice. Overall we found the hotel to be great value and fitted our needs.

The room had an overwhelming unpleasant smell which we think was from cleaning products. We didn't ask for a room change as we could smell it on all that level. We had also thought we could keep the doors open but there were lots of mosquitos and bugs and there was no flyscreen. We just kept the doors shut and the airconditioner running.
