About
Palacio Carvajal Girón is located next to Plasencia's main square and just a few minutes' walk from the city's main monuments. The establishment has a restaurant, a cafeteria located in the atrium of the palace and parking area in an outdoor courtyard of the building (spaces are limited and reservations are required with the hotel to confirm availability). Palacio Carvajal Girón occupies a 17th-century listed building and is beautifully decorated with original stone pillars. The air-conditioned rooms feature flat-screen cable TV and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have the bathroom area integrated into the sleeping space. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, which can also be enjoyed on the garden terrace by reservation. Breakfast at Palacio Carvajal Girón is served buffet style, with the option of ordering hot dishes prepared on the spot. The hotel accepts pets in the rooms (dogs and cats) with a supplement of 30.00€ (VAT included) per night. The number of pets per day is limited, so it is necessary to consult with the hotel reception prior to making the reservation. Pets are allowed in the garden area and the gastrobar upon request, but not in the restaurant area. Please check other conditions with the hotel before booking. The hotel is in the old Jewish quarter of Plasencia, a 5-minute walk from the old city walls. The train station is just over 0.6 mi away and the bus station is 1.2 mi away.

- It is a beautiful palace and in a great location in Plasencia. The staff was lovely. The room was quite comfortable.
- Excellent restoration of a historic building, very well achieved given the available space; The rooms are spacious and very comfortable; The staff are super friendly; The spa is very well integrated and has a mystical touch; Breakfast is reasonable, but having dinner at the hotel’s restaurant was definitely an excellent surprise—recommended on its own.
- The palace structure, decoration and overall feel was wonderful. The beds, pillows were comfortable; bathroom was huge with a great shower and shower pressure; plenty of storage of clothing with two armoire, very nice accessories, the balconies were nice for town views, private parking was perfect and on-site (we had a Cupra rental car (short version); breakfast was great, all the staff were professional and courteous. I highly recommend this hotel during your stay in Plasencia, Estremadura.
Cons -
- It’s a pity that there are so few parking spaces in the back courtyard (don’t forget to reserve one to avoid having to leave your car far away; In ou case we could park only one of our two cars - not critical); You can definitely feel the lack of a space to sit and socialize (the so-called ‘salon’ is not welcoming at all).

- Cars driving past the hotel go over a loose manhole cover— bump, bump every time. City junta should fix it!

Room 109, Paula in reception was a star, charming., great welcome, she made the hotel stand out. Cava on arrival, charming receptionist, brilliant.

Excellent Location for exploring the old town and the local area. Rooms were exceptionally clean and spacious.Huge bathroom in the junior suite with a double shower and a huge bath that could accommodate at least 6 people. We enjoyed the restaurant too. Helpful and amusing waiter coupled with fine food was really an experience. Breakfast was fine and you could get freshly cooked eggs to order with bacon if desired.Refreshments were on offer in reception which was nice.Free water was provided in the mini bar every day.
If you end up driving though the old town by mistake, to drop off bags or to park at the hotel it’s important to remember to give them your registration number so you don’t get a fine. I parked in their recommended secure public carpark after a bit of a struggle navigating the old and very tight streets.
Beautiful building
Restaurant couldn’t accommodate a meal for us as valentine menu only
This charming hotel has a spacious room facing a square (not noisy). The hotel is close to all the sights and restaurants. The staff was very nice.
You need to reserve space for the car park, and it is a bit challenging to get there on a narrow road and entrance. No kettle in the room; it was cold (December). Sometimes, the café at the hotel can get crowded, and there are no available seats if you miss the right time.
Location, bathroom very nice, the property it self is Amaizing
Should advise to reserve parking, no way to get a coffee in the morning before breakfast open, to slow check in, we order a Cod fish in the restaurant and came freeze inside, very little staff on the bar
A beautiful building in the centre of the town.
Parking needs to be reserved which meant we had to find a car park with 2.1 m height clearance. We managed but it was a very close call.
Great location in an interesting building. Beds were comfortable. No double beds. Great location near all sights and shops. Lovely staff. Good secure onsite parking. Breakfast was adequate.
No double beds.
This is a tricky review as there was much to like and equally as much to really dislike. We checked in at 7.00pm. We paid €16 for parking, €30 for a small dog, which is ridiculous, and €14 each for breakfast. The hotel is a beautiful small palace right in the centre of the walled city. The building is beautiful, and the beds just about the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The bathroom echoed the charm of the hotel. Fernando, who checked us in, was lovely. The one star feature was a dark coloured flannel for women to use after removing makeup. I always carry dark flannels with me for this purpose as you'll always get marks on a white towel. I couldn't believe they offered this. Your flannels tend to get a bit stinky on a long trip.
Now for the rest. The room was so unbelievably dull and dreary. Absolutely nothing to showcase the building it was in. Not a single picture or decoration. The water pressure was stupidly high, with no warning. I turned on the shower only for it to shoot out of its wall holder and totally drench the bathroom. It took 2 bath towels to mop up the water. At some point, the bathroom had a stunning stone bath. They've removed part of the wall so it can't be used. Presumably to save water.€30 for a small dog is a really high supplement compared to every other place in Spain and France we stayed. We paid €28 for a distinctly average breakfast. The bacon and eggs were good. The rest was just standard basic hotel fair. Very poor for 4*.Now comes the really annoying stuff. I loved the glass tumblers in the room so I asked at reception if I could buy one. I was told it was impossible. Lots of things in life are 'impossible'. Selling someone a glass isn't. I should have just told them I'd broken it.The swimming pool was closed and the jacuzzi didn't open till 12.00. What time is checkout? Yes 12.00. Who wants soaking swimwear when you're packed and out of your room? Now the really really annoying thing. As I said checkout is 12.00. Check in is 4pm. We paid €16 to park our car. Now there is no parking inside the walled city and the weather wasn't good, so parking outside the city, we don't know at all would be really difficult. We assumed we could leave the car at the hotel for a couple of hours while we toured the town, like every other hotel we've ever stayed in. No chance. The car had to be out by 12.00. I tried to argue the point and they reluctantly said they would stretch it to 12.30. Whoop.Honestly for a 4* hotel to treat its clients like this is appalling. As it was drizzling we had no option other to leave without having a look at Placencia at all.
Beautiful historic building in the centre of the city, well repurposed to maintain rustic traditional features in a very comfortable, user friendly style. The spa was in a lovely setting in an original cellar area.
Couldn’t work out how to activate the air con, or perhaps deactivate the heating. The room was a bit too hot.
Location and charm—-WONDERFUL renovation of a very old structure. Fabulous staff
There was a large noisy party/function on the Saturday afternoon in the lobby—but the staff managed it correctly.
location is superb. beautiful building . however , staff were excellent - 10/10 for receptionists, helped us move rooms with no hassle and a superb recommendation for a great restaurant- Succo .11/10 for our breakfast waitress- so helpful and friendly. Thank you ?
no atmosphere in hotel restaurant and small , expensive and uninspiring menu. Background music around the hotel is great - but does not fit the environment or clientele. Bathrooms are a terrible design - do not fit environment, water wasteful and need to be 7 foot tall to use the shower ( 104). certainly don't like the bathroo. in the bedroom !
Lovely location within walls of the city. Lovely room with outside patio. Very dog friendly.
Car park only takes 5 cars, very very narrow streets and entry to car park, you have to prebook car park.
Beautiful old building, with lovely cafe and outside pool area just around the corner from the centre of town. Very large rooms, super comfy!Great breakfast
What a unique property. Beautifully restored building- restored to leave as much of the original building in place vs maximizing the # of rooms. Big rooms and high ceilings. Room was blacked out and silent once you turned the lights out. Huge comfy 4 poster bed. Great night’s sleep and special feeling of being in historic building.
The facility and location. The service was very nice.
The hotel room was a little warm at night. I think the sun was facing directly during the day.
Architecture. Piscine. Decorating. Location
Open shower looks great but water everywhere!
Beautiful setting and comfortable rooms
Unable to get food for lunch as they had a large party on
