Pros +
- The main hotel staff were helpful.
- A very fine establishment. The hotel has remarkably attractive public sitting rooms on the ground floor and a truly lovely indoor pool. The reception staff were outstandingly helpful and flexible, making a huge difference to check-in and checkout arrangements. And the attached restaurant/bar is very good.
- Lovely place. Location up the hill and just out of town but we like it that way. 15 minute walk into town. Nice and quiet. Extremely enjoyable. Hotel was great. Staff very helpful. They even provided a little bottle of bubbles on ice with some strawberries as the trip was for my wife's 60th. They have a nice indoor pool and health suite. Also, the restaurant attached to the property (Copenhagen) had a nice atmosphere. Good for a drink and/or dinner/bar meal.
Cons -
- The fridge ,and the heating were noisy. Some staff in the restaurant were rude, until I explained I was a resident . The room was not the best ,although it was a king room.
- Our room was more average than the beautiful public facilities suggest. Bear in mind it’s a fifteen minute quite steep uphill walk from the center of St Peter Port.
- Nothing really. My only disappointment was that the hotel normally provides a free 3 hour mini-bus tour of the island on a Tuesday and Thursday. It was one of the reasons that I booked. However, just my luck, on the Thursday that we were there, the tour didn't run as I think the vehicle was being serviced. We did book another tour externally of the island for £50 which was very good. It did not detract from the overall experience of our 3 days on the island and in the hotel which was basically great.

The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was delicious and the location was convenient. In room facilities were good.
It’s just a bit tired around the edges. The bathrooms had some mould and the carpet was stained. The courtyard could do with a jet wash.
Breakfast was first class, good service and nice choice. Dinner was excellent - all 3 of my selections were "specials" and all rated 10/10.
No dislikes or improvements required.
The room was comfortable with a large bed and good bathroom facilities. TV reception was good and tea and coffee making facilities were excellent. The on site restaurant and standard of the food was superb as were all staff. Swimming and jacuzzi were excellent. Beautiful courtyard with a fish pond.
It was perhaps unfortunate that we were staying while some renovation work to the old house that forms the main part of the hotel was going on. This meant a long diversion to the room up and down stairs.
Excellent choice although we didn’t have cooked breakfasts. Great friendly staff and beautiful views
Good location, very helpful staff. Spacious rooms, too many stairs to room 23 in the attic ! Shame all the lounge facilities were out of use.as being renovated. Copenhagen bar very nice.
day 1 i ordered crumpets with bacon and cheese, but received waffles with bacon and maple syrup .day 2 i just had toast and coffee
its not what i ordered plus i was charged the price for a full breakfast price of £12.00 each day
Very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast excellent, cooked to order. Lovely to have the spa facilities that were kept very clean.
I stayed in a single room that was comfortable and well equipped but air conditioning was noisy so turned this off
Good food, friendly staff, good service overall
Restaurant and food were excellent. Rooms were very clean and presentable. Location is ideal for local attractions.
Although it is a wonderful hotel, it is a bit outdated and in need of modernisation.
Everything was fantastic, clean and tidy. And staff were very polite and attentive. Pool facilities were such a bonus
Nothing to dislike
Breakfast very good, all staff pleasant and very good. Although painting was being done externally the trades people were polite and not in the way at all.
Lights outside the window was not blacked out by curtains. The light was also coming in around the main door of the room.
Lovely hotel, great restaurants and view. Car parking
I tried to book a weekend again on booking.com and it was lots more expensive. I wanted to stay again but the price was too high. Probably a booking.com issue rather than the hotel. The hotel is fantastic.
The room was clean with great lighting and a good size. The bed was very comfortable and there was a reasonable sized fridge. The bath towels were a good size and of quality. The adjacent restaurant was excellent and accessed by a connecting tunnel as well. The pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were very welcome after a long journey or a busy day.
The access road is narrow and on a hill but it is manageable. Would be good to know in advance about the top end of the road being closed. However, as far as the hotel is concerned all was good.
Absolutely love this Hotel and Restaurants.
Only let down this time by the fact that the TV just wasn’t working, despite the immediate attention of the staff as soon as we reported it. They tried their best but didn’t get it fixed during our stay.
LOVELY HOTEL WITH GOOD FACILITIES, STAFF ARE GOOD AND VERY ATTENTIVE TOO. RESTAURANT IS VERY GOOD AS WERE THE POOL AND SPA FACILITIES. LOOKED AT THE HOTEL ALONG WITH ABOUT 5 OTHERS ON MY LAST VISIT TO THE ISLAND WHILST WORKING IN ABOUT OCTOBER AND EARMARKED THIS ONE TO STAY IN AND SEE HOW IT RUNS. I DO ENTERTAINMENT EVENTS AND HAVE BEEN POTENTIALLY LOOKING FOR A HOTEL THAT CAN PROVIDE A PLATFORM FOR OUR SHOW AND THIS ONE WAS THE MOST ATTRACTIVE TO ME. I DELIBERATELY BOOKED INTO THIS HOTEL WHILST ON A DANCE ENTERTAINMENT I WAS AT THIS WEEKEND.COULD WELL BE IN TOUCH WITH YOU GUYS IN THE NEAR FUTURE, THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING A REALLY NICE PLACE TO STAY FOR MYSELF AND MY FRIEND WHO MET ME OVER THERE.
GREAT STAY, NOTHING NEGATIVE TO REPORT
The use of the pool and spa. Food was lovely.
Couldn’t get my heating to come on in the night as I was cold.
It was quaint and so well maintained. The restaurant on site was just amazing. All the staff were ultra helpful and friendly
