Pros +
- Location and restaurant
- I liked having a full kitchen in my unit, the bed was very comfortable. I have allergies and alerted staff in advance. They had to change out the fry pan in the room and rusty peeler and replaced it so I could avoid cross contamination. I got the pan and peeler the 2nd day of my 6-night stay. The unit had a good heater and Zippy in the office was very helpful and a woman who replaced the kitchen items. The location is great to transit center 10 mins, coffee shops and restaurants.
- Very clean and friendly staff. Good food.
Cons -
- VERY SMALL room. Shower was smaller than cruise ship cabin showers. VERY small sink too. Water in sink and shower did not drain fast enough.
- I couldn’t work out how to use the oven nor could multiple staff who tried. I requested instructions so the oven was at 160 degrees and you had to bake your item longer if it needs a higher temp. The unit I requested was advertised as ground level but was given had steps up to living space and the toilet was in downstairs next to the bedroom that was another set of steps. I can walk the steps but was surprised. Carpets to both stairways were very dirty. I emailed the manager with photos and my experience, but never heard back. I couldn’t get anyone to tell me what they could provide for a gluten free and dairy free breakfast I paid for, included in the price.
- I liked everything about The Duke of Normandie!

Very clean and friendly staff. Good food.
A very well run & maintained hotel with very friendly staff!
I liked everything about The Duke of Normandie!
Great location. Excellent choices for breakfast. Short distance from ferry port
Although good lunch and dinner menu. As a resident if you just wanted a light snack in the eveni g, this was not available.
Fabulous location for walking in to St Peter's Port. Lovely breakfast. Our suite had a kitchen that was really useful, with kettle, Nespresso coffee maker, toaster, microwave and fridge. There was also a hob and oven. The room was kept super clean and thankfully came straight off the road so only one step to get to the pavement in to town. Parking was available which was so handy as parking is at a premium in the town.
Because the hotel is in the heart of the town, there is normal noise if being in a town centre.
Comfortable and spacious room. Good shower. Excellent location right in the heart of St Peter Port, within easy walking distance of shops, pubs and restaurants.
The room view (over the courtyard) was not ideal in terms of the view and didn't feel as private as others.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent. The beer (cask ale) was wonderful and the best I experienced in a short stay on the island. The room was very comfortable and the hotel conveniently placed for access to the rest of town and a short walk to the bus terminal or boat departures.
Location, Lovely Hotel
The room is supposed to be a budget room, which is what I needed, but being right at the top, it was so hot, even the fan couldn't alter that, so a high price for such a room. it also overlooked a flat roof that was piled with old mattresses. Maybe a stay in the winter in this room would be best.I would still stay here but a different room.
Excellent location, lovely helpful staff service
The bed was very uncomfortable. There wasn't a large bed, only two single beds put together with a very uncomfortable gap in the middle. The room was small and felt crowded.
Really great location for the hotel in the heart of St Peters Port. Staff are always friendly and polite whether this is reception staff, bar / restaurant staff / Breakfast etc etc. Room was a nice size and clean, a perfect base for our adventures.
The only thing we wasn't too keen on, is the increased size of the decking area in the car park area. This made parking a little bit more tricky. We were lucky on a couple of occasions to get the last parking places.
Could not fault the excellent service, incredibly helpful staff, extremely comfortable room and the food was just fabulous. Excellent location.
Nothing!
Friendly. Great bar and restaurant (pickled pig). Excellent breakfast selection. Good shower.
The room.was small when travelling with a couple of suitcases and hand luggage. WiFi dropped out regularly but soon reconnected.
The staff were exceptional. Very friendly and professional. Nothing was too much for them. The first room we were in was too small for our 6 night stay and we easily got an upgrade once a room become available and at a very modest cost. The staff were so helpful and friendly - reception, room and restaurant. Could not fault them.
All wonderful.
All good ,food choice good.
Due to one way streets, made it difficultTo find, leaving was so simple. Maybe give map from round- a- bout at marina,In your accepting greetings.Did not need piece of furniture with fridge, in, at bottom of bed, as it made it difficult to get to toilet at night time.
The hotel is lovely. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and lots of choice.
Perfectly located for ferries and for visiting local attractions. Hotel was clean and comfortable, staff were exceedingly warm and welcoming and food and drink were excellent. Highly recommended.
Lovely warm welcome from all of the staff, rooms were spacious well equipped & very clean. Bar, breakfast and dinner had a great choice & the outdoor terrace was perfect for afternoon drinks. This was our first time in Guernsey. The hotel location was ideal for exploring Town and bus tours of the wider island. We will definitely return to this hotel.
I haven't stayed in anywhere with a more comfortable bed. It was superb. The room was described as a compact double but was as large as most I stayed in, so I think it is underselling itself there. The staff were so friendly in a genuine way. The location is perfect as it is so quiet but being one step removed from the main street you really have the best of both worlds. I visit St Peter Port every year and this is my favourite by far!
Convenient to town and water.
Room was dark, no sun.
