Lovely lounge areas to sit in and a great breakfast
Steps getting up into the hotel with our luggage
Lovely historic property. Exceptional service. Beds and linen were clean, plush and comfortable.
The hill could cause a hardship for some patrons.
The lounge and the fabulous garden and terrace
we found the bar meals a little to expensive for us
Fair location, good views.Public spaces good and comfortable.
Shower in room 205 only had scalding hot water in shower - dangerous.Room 205 so so.
The hotel was very clean, in a great location. Rooms were also lovely and clean. The staff were brilliant, and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were extremely helpful.
Our rooms were not ready when we arrived, but the staff were very apologetic and had the rooms sorted within 10mins.
The staff were friendly & helpful. Breakfast was great & evening meals were fresh & tasty. A great place to stay. A short walk to the main town. The hotel building is old but the rooms are clean & comfortable.
Very friendly staff. Food was amazing especially the breakfast. What a great choice of dishes. Loved the terraced garden with all its little nooks and crannies. Good location and easy to walk into town.
The walk back up the hill from town
breakfast was fantastic with plenty of selections. We ate at the Sun Restaurant once and in the bar restaurant twice and all the food was wonderful. Walking around the gardens was lovely.
Nothing to dislike
The staff were exceptional . They were attentive and polite at all times. The food at the hotel was delicious with plenty of different options
Wifi wasn't as good as I would have liked
Lovely hotel, beautiful garden, fabulous breakfasts, kind and thoughtful staff. Very spacious single room with cupboard, wardrobe & 7 drawers! 3,000 steps from the ferry terminal or about 18 minute walk. Up a hill but not as bad as I expected from the other descriptions. Bus tickets are £1.60 all over the island and you can hop on and off, just tap your debit card. There’s a co-op too just down the hill, handy for lunches and the bus terminal is a handy place to start for trips ( unless of course you’re driving!) out. Jersey is about £29 return for the day on the ferry and takes an hour. You can book online. Great stay!
Everything was lovely. But I would rebrand the chicken & vegetable madras as something different. I was expecting it to be mega hot, when it was medium ( which was good) other people might come to the same conclusion.
Staff are very good, the garden & public rooms are very comfortable & it’s right beside Victoria Hugo’s house. There’s a bit of a climb up from port area but good for exercise!
Clean comfortable excellent value and outstanding staff
Breakfast was excellent, as were other meals we had at the hotel. The staff were always polite and responsive to requests. The location of the Hotel is close to the centre of St Peter Port, ( but unfortunately if you struggle walking it is up quite an incline ), but the view from the well kept gardens is very nice. The Hotel is very well situated for the Bus terminus, and this makes for great access to all the visitor locations around the island, and the fares are very reasonable too.
The original room we were allocated was a good size, but due to a problem we had to be moved, and the room we ended up in also had a problem, which we then needed to be moved from again. The final room was adequate but much smaller than the original room we were given :( it would have been nice to be offered some kind of compensation for having to move twice in two days). I think the hotel is carrying out some internal upgrading so it is reasonable to expect one or two hitches.
Nice vibes. Public areas fresh and modern.
Slightly dated rooms. Rotten sash windows.
The restaurant was lovely, the staff was very attentive (especially Ando), the meal was especially unique - the combinations of nature ingredients was surprising and delicious!!
Comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. Lovely clean towels changed daily.Location in centre of town was ideal.Great staff service. All were pleasant to deal with and highly professional.Superb dinners in both restaurants.Good standard of cleaning.
Small room and very small TV.Breakfast a bit underwhelming. An old building that is a bit of a rabbit warren but charming for all that.
Comfortable stay and friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Perfect location.
Facilities in the room were adequate but very dated - namely the bathroom and shower. Could do with a refresh.
