Pros +

  • The location
  • The location is perfect! There are awesome views around. It is an ideal match if you want to rest a bit from the city. Also, it was really warm there despite the cold weather outside (we stayed in January).
  • Amazing location. Very smiley staff. Good food.

Cons -

  • Confusion over the degustation dinner (the reason we booked) which did not really seem on offer (and which in the end we did not have). Meal service was at best indifferent and uninterested; other services were good to excellent.
  • The rooms are kinda outdated and should be renovated a bit
  • Nothing really

Lovely garden and pool

uncomfortable bed, not soundproof, there was a very noisy group partying late at night

Stunning surrounds and a great hike with beautiful views. Friendly staff, good dinner menu.

The breakfast was very basic, it would be great to have a bit more variety and freshly baked items. But this is minor considering the stunning location.

Best views from hotel and bedroom ever. Could see 50 miles.Silent, isolated, relaxed, excellent food, pleasant and efficient staff.

Location, peace, views. A great hotel in a fabulous position with incredable mountain views. Our room was rustic, spacious and very comfortable.

Maybe get the shutters and doors to fit better. We experienced high winds so it sounded like Halloween! Can't say that was normal as I doubt you would get those winds often.

Beautiful location in the heart of the Sierra de las Nieves. Spacious, clean, and very comfortable. We stayed in the family room with 5 beds and a lovely terrace (including a jacuzzi!).

We liked a lot. It was very pleasant and private, comfortable. The view to the mountains was stunning. We liked that we can relax in silent and peace :)

Although quite a challenging drive the hotel is in a beautiful area. We stayed here 20+ years ago when it was very traditional prior to buying a property locally. Having now moved on we revisited the area to see old friends and booked the hotel again. It is better! The same traditional setting but with all mod cons. Great rooms with fantastic views, exceptional restaurant food at both breakfast and dinner plus helpful attentive staff. Recommend.

Because of the relaxing ambiance and on site spa and nearby medicinal waters it does attract “retreat” groups (mainly women) that can dominate the facilities and access to buffet breakfast

The location in the mountains was exceptional! We didn't realize it when booking, and we were on a hiking trip so this was perfect. (Only that we had hiked in the mountains 25 km before arriving in the village and understanding that there was one more big climbing in front of us... :) Nevertheless, the view was stunning. The facilities were very comfortable, and there was even a pool! Finally decided to stay two nights instead of one that we had booked.

The restaurant was a bit expensive for the quality of meals.

Incredible views, excellent dining options, lovely atmosphere

Restaurant food was great, nice breakfast.

Room was a bit noisy when shower was used next door.

Location. Hotel full of character. Nice restaurant and good breakfast selection

Thin walls. Fortunately the hotel wasn't busy during our stay but not good to hear snoring and more from nextdoor bedroom on the one night it was occupied.

Fabulous location for hiking and amazing view from the hotel down into the valley. The restaurant served delicious food and a pleasant buffet for breakfast.

Staff could have been a bit more attentive.

Very nice location with beautiful views. Very nice garden to relax as well. Good location to start hikes from, e.g. make sure to do the PR-A 282 Sendero Las Cascadas, it is beautiful! At request we could dine earlier at 20:00.

The place could easily be a 10, however I rate this much lower due the amount of noise caused by the water system and pipes causing trouble sleeping, and some details requiring improvement. The first room we got had pipes making a terrible loud howling noise. The room (11) also didn't look like the room in the pictures as advertised. When complaining about the noise the staff seemed surprised, but we got a room change. This room (13) looked much better and had much better views. However when flushing the toilet, it kept running (unless you put the button to flush in a certain position which required trial and error) and the water pipe kept making a lot of noise, keeping you awake. Dinner at the restaurant was a mixed experience, price and quality of the food didn't match for the vegetarian dishes. Food was served on cold plates. No explanation was given when checking in on the activities that could be undertaken (e.g. on hikes or on Tolox)

The house, the room, the food but most of all hiking trails around!

The bed was too heavy for me.
