Hotel de Ilhavo Plaza & Spa

Very good hotel for the money we payed. Comfortable mattresses. Clean bed linen and towels. Great breakfast with a good choice of food and good coffee (included). 1 hour in their spa was also included: sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and an indoor swimming pool - not great, lots of chlorine in the water, but not bad.We parked outside the hotel, it was free, but they have a garage as well.

Aircon/ventilation system is a bit outdated and noisy; it gets a bit stuffy if you turn it off.There was a terribly strong smell of chemical aroma that was giving me a headache. I couldn't figure out the source of it first, but then found it - wooden sticks (5 or 6 of them) in a perfume bottle in the bathroom. I don't know why it had to be so strong. May be they were trying to cover some bad smells in the bathroom - no idea. But only after I took it outside of the room and opened the balcony, I managed to fall asleep.Wi-fi didn't work in our room, only near Reception desk. We had mobile internet, but if you count on hotel's wi-fi, you might look for another place.

The location was excellent! The staff was very accommodating, facilities were beautiful and breakfast we more than met our expectations.The only drawback was we didn't have more time there!

The outdoor pool's water was freezing, which was normal for this time of year. However, it would be a good idea to heat the water a bit.

We stayed for three nights to attend a wedding in Ilhavo so the location was perfect for us. The room was spacious with a balcony and the bed was very comfortable. A good size ensuite with a bath and shower.The staff were very friendly and helpful and kindly allowed us a late check out as our flight from Porto was in the evening.The breakfast was excellent catering for all tastes.

The bar was a little dull without much character but adequate for its purpose.Some building work was taking place but we were not disturbed. A consequence was that the outdoor pool had layer of dust floating on the surface so not very inviting! In fairness, it was early in the season and it looked like the staff were starting to clean the pool and there is a very nice indoor pool as an alternative.

Very nice Hotel. Indoor pool is not very big, but nice warm water. Very friendly staff.

My room was thin-walled.

Secure parking for our motorcycles provided in the basement. Room size was above average. Staff were pleasant

Smell of sewerage in the room from the waste pipes possibly. built up over time. Reported but told is was due to local tides or something. No corrective actions taken or offer to move rooms. Pity as the room itself was a decent size. I used the pool area but it was in bad need of a refit. In general I think some money needs to be spent updating the hotel, although the lobby area was fine. Its was quite a way from Aviero which was what we came to see. Required a taxi in and out and getting a taxi back was a struggle. Probably wouldn't stay here again unless it was updated.

Already used several times for business trips, but considering the location it can also be good for holidays near the sea. Good hotel, good restaurant and friendly staff.

Like all of Portugal, restaurant and hotel prices have risen beyond the acceptable limit!

Nice room with balcony

Hair dryer was very weak. Mattress was sinking in the middle.

Overall good, nice and quiet location, not near the urban space

Indoor pool not proper

The rooms were very comfortable and clean.The shared spaces were well kept including the pool area.The staff were very attentive and had a good sense of customer service.Breakfast had a good variety.

The room was nice and pool area, it was very quiet when we stayed in JulyReception staff were friendly.

The waiting staff were not very friendly.A little bit far from Aveiro, which we didn't realise.

Very big room with a huge and comfortable bed.

They was renovating the pool and build new part of hotel without letting us know in advance. The spa was also smaller than it looks on pictures and open for people outside the hotel.

Loved the breakfast, the indoor pool was a bit small but it was lovely, and the outdoor was still closed at the time.The room was big enough with a great bathroom!The breakfast having lactose free options was a great deal for us!

Extremely friendly staff, very helpful who helped us both with parking the car and sightseeing around, Spa and indoor pool open till 11pm which is great. Great food in the restaurant.

The place has a parking place free of charge, however it's very humid there because if the pool and the water is coming over some cars and around the place. The room is very basic and the hotel is old.The breakfast is basic/ normal.

There's is a terrible smell of air fresheners all around the place - in the room and in the corridors.There is not even kettle and basic cups and glasses I the room.Seeing the cleanliness of all around me I wouldn't dare to try their SPA.
