    Pros +

    • Authentic place to stay. Great staff. Everything is very clean and beautiful. Amazing breakfast and great location. I never thought that staying on a boat could give so many great emotions.☀️
    • This was a very unique experience staying on the boat. The staff was great and gave us some umbrellas that someone had left as the day we were there was raining. We also checked out the free bikes they had and went for a bike ride the next morning which was fun. The breakfast was good as well as the deck it was on which looked over the water.
    • The breakfast was nice and clean! The restaurant place is very quiet and wonderful to see the views and enjoy the breakfast in a peaceful way. The beds are comfortable.

    Cons -

    • The rooms are super small and the walls are super thin. We basically had a couple next us doing the deed at 2:00 in the morning and we could hear everything! I mean everything! This was of no fault of the actual hotel but it really made for a horrible nights sleep for us.
    • The ventilation in the room is not optimal, but I understand the place is very old and special. The prices of the cafeteria are extremely high for some products.
    • The cleanliness needs to be addressed. We had a third person so there was need for the pullout couch bed to be made up. There was old pieces of food from prior guests under that bed. And the pullout bed was extremely uncomfortable. The sheets on the actual bed had stains, and that thing they lay at the foot of the bed needs to go because it was disgusting.

Breakfast had a good variety & plenty of space in the restaurant.

Bar & dinner options were limited (we chose to have dinner in town). Staff was too overwhelmed with a few tables and we were unable to get even a glass of wine from the bar after dinner.

We absolutely loved this stay, the location is great, the boat is enchanting and the rooms were very well equiped! Everything was amazing right down to the amazing view of the Aveiro's Ria at night and in the morning. The staff was very accommodating, nice and knowledgeable of the boats history and the breakfast provided is absolutely delicious (and with a really good variety and quality). It was a different experience, sleeping on a docked boat is not an everyday thing, and it was certainly very fun to see how they renovated and maintain a 100years old passenger boat.

Overall we have no complaints, the room was detail oriented and very user friendly, the bathroom was small but very well designed, and the amenities and breakfast were great. My only suggestion would be to share a bit of the boat's history, either on the website or the inside of the boat. I asked the front desk which told me they don't have alot of documented history but know a little bit of it. And the little I heard was already very interesting! History oriented guests might be drawn to staying here if those details are shared.

Bikes, paddle boards and a kayak are available for check out. Lounge areas have some board games. Breakfast was nice and varied. We were on the main floor. There was no ship noise at night. Good bed. It was right across from the restaurants, shops and market of Costa Nova. There are bike paths. You can easily walk to the beach and along the boardwalks.

Its a ship cabin so expect a tight bathroom.

What a unique experience. We stayed in the suite with a river view and with the big window in the living room, it feels almost like you could touch the water. The sunrise in the morning was beautiful. The location is good and it’s easy to explore Costa Nova with several restaurants within walking distance. Although it was quite windy the day we arrived, we enjoyed a drink on the top deck. Breakfast was good and they had a nice variety of items. The staff was helpful when we had an issue with our car (happened on the drive up, not related at all to the hotel). The woman at reception called the mechanic shop for us (we don’t speak Portuguese very well) and we got our car fixed quickly and cheaply!

They were a bit understaffed in the bar in the evening.

Quaint little comfortable room and a lovely experience.Very snug but lovely.Only stayed 1 night so it suited us.Breakfast was a great buffet. We were there during an unexpected heat wave and the room was rather hot.A staff member was very accommodating and gave us a fan that helped a bit.Enjoyed our stay.

Restaurant wasn't available in the evening.

Cool experience, great host, comfortable room - and a perfect view ?

    8MartinovićPosted on: 3-31-2025

The hotel/boat itself is very well kept and nice looking. The inside is well arranged and new.We loved the breakfast which had a lot of variety. The location of the hotel is perfect for relaxation and enjoying the beach in the summer or just long and calm walks in the off-season.

The small cabin rooms on the -1 floor have a very bad air conditioning system. In the winter season, the built-in AC can only heat-up the room and in summer season can only cool it down. Since the cabin is small and located in the -1 floor it is naturally lacking air circulation and when you are unable to control the AC to your needs it gets in a very bad situation where you are essentialy sleeping without oxygen. It is something to keep in mind for people wanting to reserve this type of cabin.

The location. It was fun to do something different. The staff were all very kind and helpful.

    The pillows were paper thin

The location is superb - alongside a bright and cheerful seaside town - on a cruise ship moored in a tidal estuary. We had an estuary facing cabin - actually below the waterline - with a high set window giving marvellous views across the water to the mainland nearby.Breakfast was excellent - served in the ship's restaurant on the top deck. The staff were extremely helpful and all in all we had a very memorable stay.

An interesting and novel change from regular hotel accommodation. Breakfast was good. Very clean overall. Not really suitable for tall people as ceilings and furnishings are low and beds short.

    8ViktoriiaPosted on: 2-17-2025

The location is perfect, close to the sea, have many good restaurants around, Aveiro is very close. The hotel has available bicycles for free.

Rooms are very very small and the bathroom is as well.

    Best breakfast of the trip.

    Small room, smallest bathroom.

The stay in this boat was incredibly pleasant. We were staying in the middle of winter but despite that our room was warm, cozy and very comfortable.

    8CarolinaPosted on: 1-20-2025

The experience of spending the night in a boat, very nice staff at reception and breakfast!

The boat needs some maintenance and updates, soundproofing windows would be great as the waves hit the windows all night and it's not the best for the light sleepers.
