Echo Residence All Suite Hotel

We really liked the beautiful view of Lake Balaton and the helpful hotel staff. The presence of the spa and the hotel's proximity to the historic Tihany Old Town, which made it easy to explore the historical area, were also positive.

However, several aspects left something to be desired. The internet connection was poor, and the breakfast was very minimalist. The accommodation itself seemed to need renovation, especially the spa area. Additionally, the TV picture quality was bad, and a microwave in the room would have increased comfort.

We were extremely disappointed in our visit this time. The heating was not put on prior to our arrival and the apartment was freezing! There was also 2 light bulbs not working, one in the main bathroom. And the ashtray on the terrace was still full from the previous guests. We had to ask for extra blankets as the apt was so cold. Unfortunately the apts are now dated and need to be properly refurbished and cleaned properly. The only saving grace was the dinner in the evenings which were delicious each night and the server was very polite. I complained via email before leaving this review and waited nearly two weeks before receiving a not very satisfactory response. Not good enough!

Room was dirty, staff very unfriendly, building had spider web everywhere, food was very salty, staff's attitude was so obvious when we ask for something as if they hated Americans staying there. Will not stay the again nor will my friends and family.

1. the rooms was not ckean .Towels were not changed, the room was not cleaned AT ALL, the service was not good. Cobwebs on the edges of the doors. I have stayed in a lot of hotels, suites, throughout Europe and this was the worst experience I have ever had, the hospitality, the poor breakfast and the lack of response from the people in charge do not justify the price at all.Unfortunately, due to the condition of the unmaintained, unclean rooms, and the lack of basic service in the place, I do not recommend anyone to stay there

It's nice complex on the end of the dead end street on a hill so from each room you can see the lake Balaton. Our room was quite big with comfy beds and the morning lights coming in, which was nice (there are blankets if you want to sleep till noon:-) Women in the reception was very nice and helpful. We rented a bike and went around, to the center of Tihany it is 10min max, lake Belso 5min. (There are plenty of small funny animals groundhog and huge cows) Breakfast was normal, nothing special, chees, ham, bread, yougurt...normal. There is indoor pool with the outside area for sitting.

Maybe we were there too early and the season hasnt started properly yet so the hotel hasnt been cleaned properly. Every where were spiderwebs, some tiles missing by the pool doors, broken flower pods not the dirty things just untidy I would say, or maybe better house keeper. And we didnt like girl by the pool, she didnt speak any language except Hungarian, which I understand, some people just dont speak english or german or whatever but she was rude, she just ignored us even thou I was trying to comunicated somehow.

The rooms were amazing, the food was super super good!

The pool was super cold, and it was 1,80mts I went with my son because we wanted to swim and have pool, but it wasn’t kids friendly because it was cold, and because it was very very deep. Also there are many different buildings so you need to go out and walk in the cold to get to the wellness (and after being in sauna or pool, again walk outside in the cold to come back to the room) And the view of the lake is not the same in all the rooms, we were in last building so the view was very little

Excellent location, a very good hotel, in a huge, wonderful, quiet park. Excellent service and an exquisite restaurant. Very good indoor pool, sauna, also our apartment had it’s own sauna.

The room was over priced for the advertised type of room. The room was supposed to have a view but the bushes were unkept and the view was minimal to the water. I paid more to look at bushes

The room was big and great for family.Also the sauna and big balcony with great lake view in the room were a big bonus

The room needs renovation

Location is great. Room size is better than average. Big balcony with nice view. Great restaurant on the terrace with ala carte menu. We were lucky enough to have excellent live music.

Room facilities below average. Weak internet with many drop outs. Breakfast is very average. Wellness facilities are used and below average.

Friendly stuff, marvellous view, good food

Room Cleaning, for hotel guest (with halfboard) the dinner has only beeing indoor and not on the beautiful terrasse.

I have celiac disease, which I mentioned when applying. They kindly advised me about food at all meals and prepared diet meals. Kudos to the entire staff.

The view is very nice.

The room seemed to be a bit dirty. Few towels or soap were provided despite requests. The air conditioning did not work despite two attempts to fix it by the technician. The light in the bathroom did not work. Most importantly, the management seemed un-interested in finding solutions or compensating us. The fact that the air conditioning did not work was a major problem. The fact that our room could not be changed and the management basically told us they could do nothing, and refrained from offering a discount or some type of compensation, was simply unacceptable.

The 2 bedroom suite located on second floor of building A was really comfortable and had amazing view. 4 course supper was a plus. Staff were very friendly and helpful all the way, well done!

Food was ok but it could do with an improvement. Poor selection in fresh vegetables or fruit. Vegetarian won’t have much to choose from. Swimming pool area was not very clean and many amenities were out of order. Overall buildings could do with cleaning as spider webs and bugs were present everywhere. Kitchen had fridge and electric kettle, nothing else, not suitable for simple things such as reheating food. Air con worked however it seemed that it needed some attention (debris, fungi etc…)

Has potential; just needs someone to take a little time to make some simple changes that would make all the difference in the overall experience had by guests. I noticed the ratings weren't very strong for this lodging, but assumed they were including both breakfast and dinner in their rate because they had made some improvements and it was a way to draw guests in to update their reviews. After arriving, I realized this was completely my assumption as the complaints made by other reviewers were still present. My observations on what could be improved:1) Partial View - Booking states you'll get a lakeview room and while technically I had that, I would call it a partial view. This could be resolved by simply pruning the overgrown shrubs that block the lake view (which could be breathtaking otherwise).2) Damaged Furnishings - There were details in the room that made it feel a bit neglected, such as torn curtains, a broken A/C grid, a makeshift TV console, and a few other details.3) Poor Quality Food - The breakfast was fine, but the dinner tasted like microwaved frozen meals. Due to this, we informed staff we wouldn't be attending dinner for our remaining night and decided to eat out instead.4) No Housekeeping - I didn't see this mentioned on the listing when I booked, but we were there for 3 nights and never had as much as a towel change or a basic room tidying.5) Wellness Area Hours - May not be a negative point for others, but their pool area opens at 9am and closes at 7pm, which meant we personally couldn't use the facility as we were exploring the lake area during the day and having breakfast/dinner at the hours it opens/closes. Opening from 8am - 9pm would make all the difference.6) Painful Showerhead - The large bathtub was our favorite part of the room, partially because we could not take a shower as the water jetted out everywhere with a painful level of pressure that was nonadjustable.
