Montebelo Palácio dos Melos Viseu Historic Hotel

Excellent location, great staff, comfortable room!

Even though it says it had restaurant and bar- it does not…

The Montebelo Palace was fantastic! It is right in the heart of the historic center. Viseu is a beautiful town, and the Montebelo is perfectly located. It was a perfect stay. It was also very convenient to have secure parking.

The breakfast was perfect, lovely staff and great location at the historical centre.. The room was spotless and cosy.

Bar closed, couldn't enjoy the evening, view and good weather at bar's balcony( was the main reason for choosing the hotel ), no kettle in bedroom to enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee at least, either

Approaches to the hotel not good while driving here. Parking is also difficult

Very well located, close to all the historical center. The hotel is in an grand old mansion and the gentleman at the reception was really nice.

There is a bare feeling to the place, furniture in the room is very plain although well equipped, maybe that's because I stayed in a standard room.

the best most magnificent hotel in Viseu. Very central, very quiet, private parking spaces right in front of the door. Super nice hotel staff.Hotel elevator. Great inclusive rich breakfast. super clean everything top 10. at any time. very gladly. again

We liked the charm of the place a lot. Room was clean and had everything needed for a short stay. Perfect location to visit the city center.

It was historic,it was clean,amenities were good,staff was very helpful

The only thing I personally didn’t like was the hard beds,but that’s pretty typical in Portugal

No sleep for any of us after a four hour journey, accomodated in a room directly across from a noisy club. Once the thumping music stopped, revellers gathered outside in the street in the early hours of the morning.Cannot undertstand why on earth you would place guests in a room on the side of the building where you know they will not get any sleep, especially when you have availability on the quiter side.Utterly dissapointing experience, arrived for a rest, left exhausted

An unusual place in that there are very well done sitting rooms sprinkled throughout. The renovation was excellent of everything is freshly painted.Viseu was an unexpected delight and there was a roof top bar (something we always look for) right across the street!

This is an exceptional address for lovers of culture and originality. This former monastery has been perfectly renovated and the setting is magnificent. The furniture is antique and splendid.

Nice hotel with secure parking for 6 motorbikes in the historic centre of Viseu. would highly recommend

Go9d breakfast, lots to choose from.Location was very good, right in the centre, but we were lucky to get a space in the car park as it is only small.

staff when we arrived was very friendly. able to park the car on their parking although it took some serious maneuvering to get in.

not a dislike but rather a comment: when a lot of comments mention f.eg. no bacon at the breakfast or not functioning wifi in the rooms and the hotel answers they will fix it,... please do so otherwise you are not taken seriously and it is better not to respond. so yes also in my case no wifi in the room (which is find a manco) and no bacon at breakfast (which i care less about). else, where is the staff to man the bar?
