    Pros +

    • Goood value for price, location is great if you wish to have quick access to visit the small islands around the lake...1 minute walk to the boats.Isola Bella is a must see and the price for museum and gardens totally worth it. Train station and city center are quite far...15-20 min walk..same for supermarkets, stores, retaurants. There is also a bar downstairs that serves drinks and some foods. If you have spare time..you can walk the pedestrian alley around the lake..it takes you close to city center and has a lot of nice views and places to make photos. The room was nice and quite confortable , there is also a small swimming pool downstairs in the hotel. We also had breakfast here and it was nice.
    • Excellent breakfast, convenient location, and very helpful, welcoming staff.
    • Lovely & helpful staff…truly good people from the front desk, to the breakfast service to the housekeeping! A included breakfast buffet that well-exceeded my expectations, with plenty of lactose- & gluten-free options & again, excellent service! The decor inside the rooms is very comfy & the balcony is wonderful, with full shutters to block out light at night & in the morning. Truly the very best modern & cold A/C on my whole trip! Free use of an outdoor pool closer to town (big plus since the indoor one onsite is a bit stuffy & over-chlorinated). Special breakfast was offered for an early morning departure.

    Cons -

    • A small fridge in the room would be a good addition.
    • The internet in the room was the weakest I’ve experienced since the 90s. Basic internet searches had to be done in the common area downstairs. The location is a bit far ~25min walk from town, quite a feat in the heat (but also tranquil & gorgeous if you don’t want to go all the way into town, which can be rather touristy anyhow). Although the sound from the lido outside was blocked due to excellent modern balcony doors, it was very poor within the hotel: neighbors on the left, right, up & down: talking, clearing throats, music from the lobby, people coming up the stairs, couples making love, etc. When neighbors are showering, it actually sounds like there may be a leak in your bathroom. Some rooms lack a mini-fridge. To be able to give a higher rating, the room rate would have to be significantly lowered to reflect the value & sense of lack of privacy.
    • Wifi is horrible, breakfast quality is quite bad

    Good location and friendly personnel

Wifi is horrible, breakfast quality is quite bad

Our room was bright with an excellent water view of Lago Maggiore and we enjoyed sitting out on the large balcony. The breakfast offerings were plentiful and the wait staff were very accommodating. The hotel is in a great location to walk the panoramic path to the town center but also to get the boats to the Borromean Islands.

The bed was quite hard and we had to use the extra blanket for cushioning.

In fact, the hotel is located in a beautiful place, very close to the Lago Maggiore, near a boat station, to discover the Islands and the lake. The room was big enough, the breakfast is rich, with tasteful foods, sweets, fruits. We enjoyed the terrace, the quiet location, the peace.Parking is easy, the hotel has own parking place.

The pillows - it seems that this is characteristic in Italy- were rigid.AC is weak.

Big room, clean, close to ferry

Front desk did not have enough information about the area. Facilities old, noisy plumbing, unknowable front desk staff; lack of variety of cakes at breakfast

    10TeodorPosted on: 5-7-2025

Great location - meters away from the pier ,where boats to Isolla Bella depart. 15 minutes very nice walk to the centre of Stresa. Room with balcony was great view to the lake. Breakfast was with good variety.

Next to the port where you take the boats to the Borromee Islands. Free parking. Cleanliness. Some staff were nice and polite.

The hotel was a nightmare. Old mattresses with iron springs, the double beds are two small mattresses joined together to form a double bed, which prevented us from sleeping. Outdated, no soundproofing. We heard all kinds of noises, when guests upstairs or next door took a shower, went to the bathroom and flushed the toilet, when they talked or walked, and every time they raised or lowered the balcony blind. You could hear cars passing by on the street. Wi-Fi didn't work. One of the women at the front desk was extremely unpleasant and unfriendly.

Everything went very well, it’s in front of the public boats for the islands Borromée, the personal is so nice and helpful !

it’s very clean and well located for picking up a rental car and walking to town.

Didn’t realize it was not adult only.

Lido la Perla Nera is perfectly positioned to enjoy Stresa and Lake Maggiore. Close to the island tour boats. A great restaurant bedside the motel and a beautiful easy walk into Stresa. The motel is beautifully kept and our deck was perfect.

    9KatePosted on: 9-26-2024

The breakfast is superb with welcoming, friendly staff. The rooms are kept beautifully clean and tidy each day. The location is in a great spot - a short and beautiful walk from town, the ferry is a few steps away and parking is on site.

The wifi is poor, beds are not the most comfortable. I could hear the guests in the room next door.

Great location for ferry. Very pretty walk along promenade to Stresa.Staff were exceptional and very friendly and helpful. Both breakfast staff and reception staff.Very accomodating in rearranging my dates when travel plans changed.Good choice for breakfastAnd thank you for the late nite cuppa.Great restaurant nearby by the lake. Rio????

Nothing really. A second pillow would be good.

    8AnnaPosted on: 9-17-2024

Perfect location near the lake, boats to the islands and promenade to the city center. The view to the islands is amazing.Breakfast was very good. Parking was a big bonus. The room had a good size and bed was comfortable. Wi-fi signal was strong. We had a patio overlooking the yard.

The soundproofing is poor. Also pillows and blanket are not comfortable.

Nice, spacious and clean room. The hotel is nice and well kept. Good location, close to the little ferries for the islands, nice walk along the lakeside into town for an evening meal.

Breakfast was disappointing and low quality. Breakfast didn't meet the expectation for the price of the hotel.

    7JaanaPosted on: 8-27-2024

Lovely old-fashioned hotel, specially the bathroom! Free parking well appreciated.

Unfortunately also the air-conditioning was old-fashioned: not very efficient...

    10DavidPosted on: 8-27-2024

Don’t be put off by the uninspiring outside appearance of this hotel, it is really nice inside, very clean and well cared for, nice buffet breakfast, nice warm pool to relax in, almost on the waterfront where the boats go back and forth to the Borromean islands, and a relaxing walk into town along the gardens hugging the lake. Really pleasant and helpful staff throughout the hotel.

    Nothing not to like

    9MariaPosted on: 8-2-2024

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The AC worked perfectly. Breakfast was okay but not to the Nordics standard. Very easy to walk by the lake to the city centre and near port that you could go visit Isola Bella and other islands.

The bed was not that comfortable, neither the pillows.
