    Pros +

    • Location is excellent
    • Paolo and lady partner (owners/managers) were very friendly. Restaurant on the ground floor was very convenient and served very tasty food and generous breakfast. Location was great for sightseeing. Both the room and bathroom seemed very clean. Hair dryer worked well. Very low cost.
    • location, friendly staff, clean room

    Cons -

    • Not able to park at the hotel. Restricted access for cars. Difficult finding parking. The shower is very small
    • My friends (married, elderly couple) and I didn't realize the hotel rooms required walking up many stairs from the street level. No elevator! One of my friends had poor mobility, required a cane, that made going up to their second floor and down very difficult. My room was on the third floor. Lighting in the halls was sometimes off: switches didn't work or automatic/sensor lighting wasn't on, allowing very dark conditions at night. The room required a key to lock the door for privacy in the room. This was a clear SAFETY HAZARD in case of emergency: the need to use a key in a SMALL KEYHOLE, difficult to see, to unlock the door and exit the facilities. I was surprised that Stresa City Health Department and Fire Department would allow such a potential tragedy. A DEAD BOLT LOCK on the inside of the door, as in most hotels, would provide security and easy exit in case of emergency. The hot water was not hot when I checked in. Paolo, the owner/manager adjusted the temperature to comfortably hot. The tiny shower (1) was a challenge for me, banging my elbows against the glass and metal sides of the shower and (2) the shower curtain frequently stuck to my body; the warm water created a draft upwards that forced the shower curtain towards me. The 2 windows should have SCREENS to allow air flow since there wasn't any air conditioning, and we were told to keep the windows mostly closed to prevent birds entering the rooms. I was surprised that the "king size" bed was actually two twin beds. Most disappointing was the lack of iron and ironing board that I requested before booking and was GUARANTEED would be in the room. After unfortunate (and should have been unnecessary) discussion with Paolo and lady partner, an antique iron and (new?) ironing board were provided. The bathroom would benefit with additional lighting over the sink and at least one towel bar near/under the sink (as in many hotels).
    • no AC, only fan while the weather was so hot.

It's a simple accomodation, very clean & comfortable for busy travelers.I particularly appreciated the friendly check in & breakfast host...and generous breakfast.

Paolo was such an excellent host. The location is fantastic. There is a restaurant in the hotel but it wasnt open the 2 nights I was there, the menu looked really nice but unfortunately I didnt get to eat there.

The only thing I found was the mattress on the big bed was a bit hard and lumpy but there was a single bed in the room as well so I just slept on that and it was fine.

Lovely staff, so friendly and welcoming!Great location, just across the road from ferry stop to Isola Bella, ideal. Also in centre of town for shops and restaurants.Nice size room and bathroom, again echoed by others, shower unit is tight, and the hot water was alittle intermittent, so not the best shower, but breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

Shower, too tight! But bathroom a good size.

    Friendly staff and great location.

No air conditioning in one room , in the other it barely worked. This made it very uncomfortably hot.Paid public parking nearby, but this should not be stated as hotel parking on the description. Breakfast was disappointing. Lots of stairs!

    5MaudPosted on: 8-2-2024

    Passable

No Air Conditioner It is said « Parking in the Hotel » however this is no private parking but the public parking in town so beware…

    6BrianPosted on: 7-26-2024

Great location but difficult parking on arrival Hotel in pedestrian area

No aircon and pretty uncomfortable for sleeping due to that

    7NataliePosted on: 7-7-2024

Very close to the shopping lanes and restaurants (even above one).

Tiny shower, no gluten free alternatives for breakfast.

    8PaulinePosted on: 6-2-2024

Really nice welcome and the lady who welcomed us was very nice and helpful, She accommodated our needs exceptionally . Breakfast was good .

Needs a bit of attention to detail could do with an update. No tea or coffee facilities.

    8KatrinaPosted on: 5-29-2024

Lovely staff and excellent location so central to restaurants and shops

    Shower was very small

    7HannahPosted on: 5-8-2024

Location was fantastic, staff were friendly and welcoming, breakfast was delicious. Room was fairly basic but comfortable and clean.

Teeny shower had a very interesting concertina style curtain - nice hot water but really could do with an update. We had friends staying close by paying 10 euros more for a better hotel so although I was happy with a fairly basic room, it was a little steep for the price.
