Location, price and friendly staff

It's a very comfortable stay, the rooms are airy and spacious, the staff are friendly. It's not a fancy or chain hotel and has a bit old hotel charm to it, which I really liked. It is also probably family run and therefore feels more personal. There is a small breakfast buffet in the mornings which is very good.

We chosen this hotel mainly considering breakfast and location. Both are good. The breakfast has a variety of options, in particular yogurt, fresh fruit, warm croissant and three kinds of hams and cheese. It is walkable from Stresa train station to the hotel, about 500 m. The owner is friendly and helpful. The towel provided in the room is quite white.NOTE for the Stresa travelers: the cable car has been not running quite a while so we just hiked 45 mins. In Italy, the breakfast does not provide hot food, eg, bacon, like that in Spain or Portugal

Our room is in the first and corner floor, we feel a bit humid.The coffee in the breakfast is average

The staff were welcoming, pleasant and had great suggestions for local activities. They went out of their way to make our family of 6 comfortable. Very clean, great location and great price! Highly recommended by us all.

The value provided for the price paid was immense! What I was most pleased with were the hospitality and friendliness of the host, Daniel. He was very welcoming and always willing to help me with restaurant recommendations, providing a charging adapter, and just generally accommodating any reasonable request. Also, it's important to note that the hotel and the room itself were spotlessly clean! I would definitely visit La Locanda again if I'm ever in Lago Maggiore in the future.

There wasn't anything I didn't like, it was just perfect! But if there's something to point out it would be that the hotel itself is quite dated (I personally liked this as it gave a unique and somewhat traditional vibe but I understand it might not be for everyone). For example, the walls are quite thin and can be irritating if you have noisy neighbours.

I loved the value. I loved stresa, I loved the staff at hotel la locando. The room was spacious and clean.

The location of hotel was quite far from the hub of stresa. And the road from the station has no footpath. Would love a fridge in room but for price

5 minutes from the lake and only 10 minutes from Lido. 10 minutes from the Railway Station, a fantastic location for my Friend's apartment. Staff friendly. Breakfast continental with great coffee for a machine-supplied. I left my Kindle in the room, and I got a WhatsApp with a photo within 12 minutes informing me we had left it behind.. Hotel was in a fantastic location and walking distance to nice swimming spots, the ferry terminal and the town. Staff were really friendly and room was very clean and comfortable!

Very clean and well kept. Good location for walking to the town. Breakfast was worth the €8. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Shower was tiny. Could have done with a kettle in the room and some tea/coffee. Parking is charged as an extra.

Excellent choice of breakfast items, plenty to eat with fresh croissants every morning. Rooms cleaned and beds made everyday with easy access to the lake side and beaches. Very pleasant and helpful staff.

Very clean, centrally located. Staff very helpful and friendly. Comfortable beds. Made up every day and towels changed daily. Good breakfast . Although no air conditioning we had a fan which kept us cool.

Everything, great location, lovely staff and great value for money

Cozy and quiet little hotel, with a very friendly staff. Only 5 minutes walking to one of the ferry stations to explore the Borromee Islands.

The bathroom and especially the shower was quite small. Breakfast options were ok if you have no dietary restrictions, but a bit more variety in bread could have been nice.

We had wonderful 6 nights at La Locanda and loved everything about it. Where shall I start? The staff that will go an extra mile to help you out, the location in a quiet, green, shady street yet close to the port, the station and the lake promenade, the best (and cheapest) coffee in town, a large terrace with a view of the mountains, 3 nice local restaurants in the neighbourhood... The rooms were cleaned every day. The Alpine-style breakfast and reception area were really charming. The breakfast was good in quality and quantity, though I missed eggs for a week. :-)

Sadly the shower was rather small and the pillows were as hard as stone.

Attentive and friendly staff, the freshest croissants at breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms, lovely balconies, open bar and a short walk to the station.

Only thing missing is a mini fridge.

Very homely small hotel. For a single room there was plenty of space and a decent sized bathroom. I enjoyed having a balcony with seating. The staff were very helpful and approachable. Breakfast had a good choice. Well situated for the ferry stop and local bus stop.

The hotel is very close to the station and in less than 10 minutes you can walk to the centre and ferry terminals. The room is exceptionally large and very comfortable, the bathroom is modern and very clean. The Italian breakfast was generous, very pleasant staff
