    Pros +

    • Clean, excellent location, big window that opened up to the street across from the Templar Castle.
    • This is a charming place, the rooms are nice and there is an excellent restaurant downstairs. The castle is right across the street and the sunsets are absolutely beautiful! Make sure to visit Las Medulas when you go.
    • This was a sneaky surprise. Incredible location with views overlooking the Templar castle, jacuzzi bath tub, in the middle of the city, and overall just very cool stay. I stayed here on National Spain Day and thought it would be super loud, but the thick walls prevented too much noise. The day was a hard hike on the Camino, so it was very nice to come into Pontferrada to this surprise.

    Cons -

    • Plumbing is older. I think to be expected
    • The shower and sink plumbing were broken which made using them tricky. The room was small - about 1' around the bed which I guess is all you really need?
    • Room was cute and charming, but so small that I did not have any room to fully open my suitcase. Also had to wait a while for hot water, but it eventually worked. I had to put my suitcase on the bed to open it and then later at night right next to the door.

The location was excellent right across from historic castle. The bath towels were large and comfortable. All the food from breakfast to dinner was homemade and excellent. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

Great location. Has a pub restaurant. Cool interior. People running this place really hellped my friend out when she needed to go home immediately. Much appreciated.

The private room had so much character and was so comfortable. The bathroom had a tub which was amazing. There was breakfast early in the morning and it was made to order. Right on the Camino.

Great location and convenient bar/restaurant. The staff were nice but a little overworked. Loved how dark the room got. Comfortable bed. Cool balcony

Rooms were comfortable and clean. Nice cafe/bar. Steps away from the Camino, Plaza Mayor and the Castle.

Location was excellent. Had a nice view of the castle from the room.

Room was cute and charming, but so small that I did not have any room to fully open my suitcase. Also had to wait a while for hot water, but it eventually worked. I had to put my suitcase on the bed to open it and then later at night right next to the door.

Perfect stopover after a long day of walking. Staff were very accommodating and made us breakfast before we commenced our Camino Invierno very early in the morning.

The property is beautiful and has a lovely restaurant. My room was charmingly rustic (stone walls) and modern (AC!) at the same time. The staff was very nice. The room was pretty clean and comfortable, and the best part was I could not hear the neighbors or the noise from the festival below.

Did not allow early check in.

Very convenient location. Nice staff. The restaurant on the premises was great about giving glasses of ice for beverages I bought at the supermarket and hot water for tea.

    The purple walls.?

Clean,’nice dinner, very cool room on a hot day

You can see the castle out the window. The location is in the center of town with easily accessible amenities. The bed was very comfortable.

There was only 1 minute of hot water. There was only a bath tub in our room on the third floor. However, you could not even get the bottom of the tub full before the water would go cold. We waited a few hours and then tried just spraying off with the faucet but the water would go cold after only 1 minute. The staff did not communicate about checking out procedures. When we tried to leave in the morning, we were locked inside the restaurant. When a staff member emerged from downstairs, they acted like we were trying to leave without paying. In general, the staff seemed annoyed that we were there.

    Great location. Nice staff.

Air conditioning did not work and it was a hot day with the sun shining in on the room making it very hot. Room needs updating - windows have some broken hinges.

The location is fantastic!!! The staff is very nice and helped me with my bag and made sure it would be picked up and sent to my next hotel , the staff was fantastic ?????? But As soon as I got in my room I checked the bed and the sheets were dirty and the mattress was very bad. I went downstairs and told the front desk who offered to change the sheets but at that point I was really disappointed with this room so the staff offered me a different room right away and the bed was sooooo nice and comfy and the whole room seemed much cleaner and nicer. Thank you to the staff for being very accommodating. I tried to take a bath since I had a bathtub, a super mini bathtub but still a bathtub, but there was not enough hot water to even take a shower so forget about that!!!

The first room I booked for a single person was not clean and the mattress very bad. The next room they gave me was very nice and the mattress very comfortable

It was charming. Great location in old Ponferrada right next to the castle. Breakfast was wonderful!

THis is a wonderful, quaint, historic pension immediatley adjacent to the Templar Castle and the Cathedral in Ponferrada's old city. We enjoyed our stay, including the food at the restaurant. It was a quiet and comfortable stay just steps from nearby attractions. There is a grocery store about 5 minute walk away as well.

    no issues
