    • This is the third time I stay at Infantes… the best place I’ve been in all Cantabria.
    • Lots of personality to decor, perfect location, the check staff (Diego) was very friendly and his advice helped us have an enjoyable night out in town and gave us local tips that saved our next day travel plans. Thank you! … breakfast was excellent and good price at 13 euro. You won’t leave hungry.
    • Beautiful historic building. Great location. Front desk employee, Miguel, was exceptionally attentive and went beyond the usual effort to make the stay one of the best on the Camino. Even got my laundry done. Awesome breakfast buffet.

    Cons -

    • Can’t think of anything
    • We wish we could have stayed longer!
    • Nothing! It was the best value we’ve had on the Camino.

The staff were excellent - super friendly, helpful, and conversational. My friend had a bad back problem and couldn't walk well, and the staff brought her dinner up to the room, asked about her and offered to help in any way. They were all wonderful! The large beds were such a treat too! Clean, nice view, quiet, with nice amenities (plenty of hangers, wardrobe, hair dryer).

We wish we could have stayed longer!

First and foremost the friendly welcome from our host Fernando (Fer) What an exceptional place, it is a jewel that embraces the tired pilgrim and entices the guests to feel at home. The location is perfect to access the iconic places of this enclave call Santillana del Mar. Its excellent cuisine served in a quiet subtle dining room with its warm fireplace in the middle entices the diner to imbibe with a glass of wine while enjoying a seared Bonito, as "Fer would order it". All in all an experience as unique as the history of this establishment, built and decorated by the present owners' grandparents, most of the material was brought to its present site, piece by piece from a different area and re-erected in situs with careful and precise attention to detail.

Fernando and Mario at the front desk were excellent! They made us feel welcome and helped orient us to the town. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. Great stay!

Nothing! It was the best value we’ve had on the Camino.

This is a beautiful hotel, with an old-school charm. Very well located in santilliana. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room very clean and comfortable. There’s a big breakfast provided but if you only want coffee it’s also possible. There’s a very pleasant sitting area in the lobby.

    Breakfast and courtesy of staff

    The plumbing is very noisy.

    7DolphPosted on: 10-14-2024

Good location. Good bathroom. Good bed.

Interior decor was drab, it was advertised as quirky, but jaded would be more appropriate.

Central location but on the main road. Had a room at the rear of the property, so not an issue for us. Only stayed one night and didn't take breakfast there, so can't comment on that.

It's an old building, full of character, but this means the soundproofing isn't great.

    Historic township.

We received a parking ticket and do not not know how to pay it. Have received no reply from their Municipal Office.

    9AjfittonPosted on: 9-20-2024

Close to centre of the town, so easy for walking to bars shops and restaurants. Parking for the 1 day stay only 4 euro (municipal car park next to tourist centre) and 100 ydsNice breakfast Really old building but accommodation 1st rate

Don't go into the town for a restaurant until at least 8.00 pm or later. Expect them closed until c.8.15 or so!

We love this hotel. The sitting room is especially pfull of antiques. More character than the parador and half the price.

    No lift

    10GeoffPosted on: 9-17-2024

The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The bus stopped right outside, and we entered the hotel to find it packed with antique furnishings and artwork- a museum indeed! The room and the bed were comfortable. and there was a library and living room on our floor, with lovely old furnishings. The bar downstairs had a good beer selection, and there were tables and umbrellas to enjoy a drink outside. Everything was in close walking distance, and the town absolutely charming!

No elevator but as we were on the first floor no big problem- might be for those on the second floor.
