Pros +
- Great location, very interesting building, staff were nice. Historic building, common areas were very cool looking - medieval kind of place, in keeping with the town itself.
- So well located (specially for Camino del Norte pilgrims). Reception ladies (sorry gentlemen, no men on duties the two days I was there) were absolutely gorgeous with helping out with recommendation and all. I thoroughly enjoyed.
- Great staff, large breakfast options, beautiful building and rooms, super clean, quiet, great neighborhood to explore, felt safe.
Cons -
- The room itself was a bit average, it's a historic building so be aware that it's not a modern hotel. The front door to the hotel was broken and wouldn't close - found that strange.

You are sleeping in a 16th century palace! Beautifully decorated and friendly staff. Our triple room was quite basic (no AC, it can get hot/humid during summer), but remember: you are staying in a 500-year old palace, it is worth it, and the value for money is good. Very friendly staff. Don't forget to pay for overnight parking (4.50 euros), or you are going to get a 100 euro ticket that is downgraded on the spot to 10 euros if you pay those 10 euros at the meter using a redemption code.
Great historic hotel in the center of old town. Wonderful breakfast with many options. Even on a hot day we did not have trouble with temperature of the rooms. Good instructions about parking near the Tourist office.
Nothing, it was all lovely
Historical value of the place, fantastic breakfast included, perfect location, amazing staff.
Breakfast was typical Spanish breakfast - jamón Serrano, cheese, varios bread options, sweets. All of it excellent. There were lots of toppings for the bread like tomato sauce and olive oil. Room was extremely clean. The town is SO gorgeous, it feels like a fairy tale and the inn is part of it. The only thing from the room that did not feel straight from the Middle Ages was the bathroom, which was pristine and had the best water pressure of my life.
Nothing comes to mind. Maybe gluten free options at breakfast would be nice, but it would be a plus.
Excellent location and friendly staff!
No coffee maker or way to get coffee for people who leave early.
Location, building maintenance and structure, decoration and medieval feeling.
Breakfast can do better.
The location is perfect. The hotel is situated at the center of the historic town. All the places of interest are just a few minutes walk from the hotel.
The breakfast could have been better.
The hotel is in a historic townhouse in the centre of Santillana. Inside it's a bit like staying in a museum, decoration fits very well to the medieval house. Our room was big and comfortable, facing the main road. Parking is a five minutes walk away. Breakfast was ok. Also very close to the famous Altamira cave.
Is a very charming hotel in a great location in Old Town. The sitting area off the 2nd floor was very nice area to visit with others
Very big room and nice staff
The Breakfast was a little disappointing with not very good quality items .It felt like eating in an school canteen
We loved it here.Location room and especially the building were amazing.Big thank you to Rosa for helping with bikes too.Thank you.
Fantastic location in heart of old town
Beds too softRestaurant Ok but not great
Situated in a lovely little historic town, car park only a short distance away to walk to and from, lots of restaurants near by. Hotel is situated on the main street and well kept and looks quite historic with all the stair cases and landings. Breakfasts were traditional and plenty of it.
room was quite basic, tv mini fridge and shower room but more than adequate.
It was an amazing place to stay in the Historical part of Santilana Del Mar. The breakfast was also a great way to start the day with the staff in the bistro exceptional. We will definitely be returning and suggesting this to all our friends.
The front staff weren't overly helpful.
Lovely old building that oozes character. Comfortable room and breakfast was okay.
Quite a lot of noise from other rooms at times. Bathroom a bit tired.
The staff were lovely and very accommodating. My initial room was so small and they found me another room although I had to pay extra.
The rooms were very basic and very small. There was quite a strong smell of damp which is to be expected in very old places but it just wasn’t for me.
Such a beautiful historical building. Antiques, stunning . Lovely breakfast. Helpful staff.Clean spacious bedroom
