Hotel BESTPRICE Santillana

False advertisement - website mentions in multiple places they have a/c. Hotel does not have working a/c's. 3 rooms I checked had no working a/c's. Lobby smells bad. Property manager ignored and continues to ignore my messages. I expected Booking to help. Manager told Booking he would take care of the issue by providing a different room and giving me compensation. He never responded that night and gave me the option of another room. Now he is ignoring my messages and has not provided any kind of compensation. Booking then gets out of the picture and expects the manager to meet his promises while nothing has happened. In addition, in my brother's room his bathroom sink was backing up indicating it was clugged.

What a gem! Santillana absolutely stole my heart. From the picture-perfect cobblestone streets to the peaceful charm of the village, everything was magic. The accommodation was spotless, welcoming, and had everything I needed to rest and recharge during my Camino. Hosts were lovely, the vibe was relaxed, and the town itself felt like stepping into a storybook. Would come back in a heartbeat — one of my favorite stops on the journey!

Room finishes

Air conditioning is the first thing promised in the description. We tested three rooms in which the AC did not work. The administrator ignored our requests for help. Booking called him and he requested an hour. Nothing was done, never worked. In addition the lavatory did not drain properly. No one was at the hotel. Finally the administrator wrote they would fix it next week. Noise from people, cats and other animals, and heat made it impossible to sleep when opening the window. After 2am the room cooled enough from opening the window. I am technically capable and I understand they purposely set the AC split units compressors not to cool. Then ignore claims when you arrive and is too late to leave. Get another hotel with a better condition and some service for a similar price.

One of the blankets had like 4 black dots on it but otherwise everything was great.

Easy to check in and clean. Breakfast was great.

Fire alarm went off due to a smoker in another room which is forbidden. The owner had to drive 15km to turn it off which was very loud. Once she arrived and turned the system off all was back to normal.

Top-notch! An absolutely wonderful place. The room and bathroom are spotless. The decor of the room is warm and cozy. Comfortable bed. And last but not least very friendly staff. I definitely recommend it for a stay in Santillana del Mar.

The rooms are very new and clean, everything seems fresh. The location is good as well, you can park your car close and also avoid the big fuss from the town centre, but still within close walking distance to everything

On the notes from self checkin the username for WiFi hasn’t been provided, only the password. I tried all the options but it did not work.

Breakfast was good and fresh. Carmen went above and beyond normal service. Everything a hostess should be.

Did not like the automated checkin. Was a nit confusing and the printed receipt was blank, so we never received any receipt at all.

Location is excellent, staff are really kind, the room and environment of the hotel are exceptional.

They put two beds together to give us a double bed, but it kept separating.

Recently reformed and with good design. The location was good outside the busy touristic center but easy access to all.

There’s no parking. In high season the parking is big problem.The walls are thin you can hear everything happens in the night, baby crying, people snoring…The breakfast with list price of 8 Euro is more than poor I’d say miserable. There was a slow queue as there are only 5 tables and 1 lady serving all. We waited and went late (9:45 while the breakfast hour is 9:00-10:30) and the last croissant just finished before me. I asked would there be other options besides sliced bread (with butter and jam). They said no the croissants are finished and that’s all, with 0 intention to do any effort. We are in a town with local cake shop every 5 meters and the long queue after me with pregnant lady and kids the same, had to wait for the only machine to toast the only white bread. People including had to go get their own bread for breakfast, I’d really prefer they don’t include if cannot provide a proper service. Nobody want’s to begin the day with bad mood.

Old world charm and very comfortable bed.
