    Pros +

    • The suites at San Lorenzo offered the perfect environment for our family during our stay. The room was enormous and allowed for our kiddo to have his own space. And the view…one of the most peaceful and lovely aspects of the stay.
    • The suites were a perfect place to stay in San Lorenzo. The views from the balcony are spectacular day and night; I got lucky with a full moon night. Very comfortable room and quite roomy with a small living room area and kitchen. Easy walk to sites and a bus ride to Valley of the fallen now called Caigamuras. The only challenge was parking on the street to drop off bags. If you're traveling with someone, have someone drop off bags at hotel and the other person go directly to parking garage a few streets down. Be sure to get the hotel discount, well worth it. Everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful. Ask the staff for restaurant recommendations, they know the yummy places. Hope you enjoy your stay.
    • Spacious room, opportunities to make meals. It was very close to the monastery and wasn't in an area of steep slopes. I have knee problems but could get around very well. Lovely arty shops nearby. Pleasant walks. The staff were charming and helpful.

    Cons -

    • They no longer had an in room breakfast option which was a little disappointing.
    • Parking was a challenge.
    • Unfortunately, we were on a lower floor and didn't get the stunning view of El Escorial, just the tree outside our window (see photo). We didn't mind as we know the area well but if you're a new visitor, ask for a higher room. The view is really special!

They have only part time staffing. We arrived about 2:30 and the place was locked. I had received a message with clear instructions on how to get in and find my room key. The room is sparse but the bed was comfortable. The town only has the Monastery to see. There really is nothing else. Better as a day trip destination or just 1 night stay.

Fabulous location, the apartment is comfortable and well equipped - and the view across to the Monasterio is wonderful. There is a parking space for unloading adjacent to the apartment building (which faces a small garden) and after that, you can park in a public car park (there is a discount provided for one of them I believe).

As we have a large car, we parked it in the larger Monasterio car park a few mins walk away - it's a very expensive car park - but does provide space and security.

    Location, cleanliness, modern

This is a very nice accommodation for a two star hotel but pricey given the lack of amenities including limited personal check-in. The room was spacious with a sitting area and kitchenette, very nicely renovated and clean. The view of the El Escorial monastery is wonderful.

I inquired about parking options before attending the property. Information was provided about a parking garage and also that there was on street parking. What the hotel did not advise was that free on street parking is limited to a very small area around the hotel (always full) and that other on street parking is to be paid for. There are no signs on the street to demarcate paid parking and the parking stations are not obvious and few and far between. As a result we were issued an 80Euro ticket. When a guest specifically asks about parking options, the property should alert the Canadian not Spanish) tourist that most on street parking must be paid for and by coins only, no credit cards. When I pointed this out to the nice lady at reception, she had lots of excuses as opposed to a proactive response.

We had a great 4 day stay at 'San Lorenzo Suites'! The location was fabulous, so close to everything and with views of the amazing and beautiful monastery from the balcony windows and only 50kms from Madrid! The room was huge with kitchen facilities and everything was extremely clean and comfortable! The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful with information on San Lorenzo de El Escorial...things to do and see, restaurant suggestions, etc. While you're there also visit the incredible 'Valley of the Fallen'...if you're not driving, the hotel will organise a taxi to take you there and back, so easy and convenient! It was great to relax in 'San Lorenzo Suites' and this tranquil town for a few days before travelling on.

    Nothing really!

Great location, clean, comfortable rooms. San Lorenzo is a lovely place with lots of good bars and restaurants.

No breakfast , wish we had booked a room at the front with a view of town.

The view of the monastery from our suite from the fourth floor was breath-taking!

The hotel does not have a restaurant, however, there are plenty on offer within a short walking distance, including the legendary restaurant Charoles.

Fabulous view from the balcony! Located in the heart of the beautiful San Lorenzo de El Escorial. Very welcoming and helpful reception (open until 2 p.m. for in person reception). There is a close unloading space for a car on the street to the side of the apartment building, as the building opens onto a pedestrianised area. They offer a special rate of 15 euros per day at a nearby covered public car park, though we found that car park very narrow to enter so used a different one (Parking Ministerio) that was wider and cost 30 euros per day. The studio apartment was fabulous (modern and clean) and the view quite something. The town offers plenty of eateries and restaurants, and facilities such as shops, banks etc.

There is an air conditioning system that clears the air 'in the background' (i.e quietly) and keeps the temperature of the room steady - but this meant that there was no fast way to change the temperature or demist the bathroom (no extractor fan). An extractor fan would have been appreciated!

Breath-taking view from our balcony. Lovely, spacious, bright room. Macarena on reception was so friendly and helpful. Overall, a fantastic hotel & highly recommended.

We loved the location, the facilities, the comfort and cleanliness and welcoming staff. The city is beautiful too.

Self check in was very easy with a detailed text instruction. Later I met the staff at reception and she was friendly and professional. I attended an event in El Escorial and I could walk there in 5 minutes. The room is more spacious than those in many 4 stars hotels.

I was a bit unsure if I would get the text message regarding self check in. It would be helpful if I was informed earlier.

Perfect location, heated floors were really nice, the shower was perfect and big and most of all it was very quite to rest well.

    10AntoninaPosted on: 1-13-2024

+ Extremely clean.+ Perfect view.+ Warm, comfortable room with big bed and bathroom. + The place is located in the central part of El Escorial.

Modern set up, clean, comfortable bed and furniture, great service. Breakfast was satisfying. The staff was very nice as well.

Parking near the hotel was very challenging due to narrow roads. It could include more amenities in the room.
