    Pros +

    • Small size, extremely personable staff, great location close to the old city and to the University
    • The staff was super friendly and made sure we felt welcomed during the stay. Location was great, in between the historic center and the city center. The train station is also close. The breakfast offered was also great value for money.
    • Hotel Herradura – Stay from December 21–23Hotel Herradura is exceptionally well located right in the heart of Santiago, making it an ideal base for exploring the city on foot. Being so centrally situated is a huge advantage, especially for travelers who want immediate access to restaurants, shops, historical sites, and public transportation without the need for taxis or long walks. The service was truly beyond expectations. From the moment of arrival, the staff demonstrated a high level of professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness. Every interaction felt genuine and guest-focused, with staff members always willing to assist, provide directions, and ensure a comfortable stay. Their hospitality significantly elevated the overall experience and deserves special recognition. However, the breakfast was a major disappointment and stood in sharp contrast to the otherwise excellent service. The selection was very limited, lacking variety and freshness, and did not reflect the quality one would expect from a hotel of this caliber and location. For guests who value a satisfying morning meal before a long day of walking and sightseeing, this was a clear weak point and an area that needs significant improvement.Overall, Hotel Herradura excels in location and outstanding service, which are strong reasons to stay here. That said, the breakfast experience falls well below expectations and detracts from an otherwise very positive visit. With improvements to the breakfast offering, this hotel could easily become an excellent choice for travelers staying in Santiago.

    Cons -

    • No problems or complaints
    • It would have been great to have a small fridge but otherwise everything was fine.
    • It was a good choice...there was no problems

Location is excellent, right next to the park and a very short walk into the old town

The room was a little dated and the shower head was difficult to manage

Beautiful location and comfortable place. Friendly staff. My partner was injured and recovering from his knee injury. They offered us crutches and walking sticks also some hot or cold packs if required. Very kind and respectful staff.

Great location to explore Santiago with restaurants, shops and tourists sites within a 10 minute walk from this lovely hotel. Staff were very helpful and attentive to any questions I had. Breakfast was very nice and filling. My room was very spacious and the bed was very comfy. If I was visiting Santiago again, I would definitely stay here.

Walk from the bus station up hill to the hotel with my suitcase.

Situated close to the city centre, very nice male receptionist

Breakfast was a non negotiable menu, mostly sweet and starchy. No eggs or healthy food.
