Pros +
- Everything! One of the best places I have ever stayed. Food was outstanding. Pool beautiful. Great history and incredible church attached to the monastery
- Nice hotel, quiet yet good proximity to the square.
- Atmosphere, people and food quality were excellent. The quality of the restauration is amaing and you get to meet the well off class of pilgrims that visit the cathedral on one-two orders of magnitude larger budgets than the rest. Loved it as an overall e
Cons -
- Nothing at all- hope to return soon
- Laundry services too expensive. As a pilgrim, I needed to do laundry but doing so at the hotel would have cost nearly 50ââÂÂì. Inconvenient to have to take laundry to the laundry mat down the road.
- Some of the classic minor north american services were not there (ex tissue paper to blow your nose, a coffee machine to start the day with a self-boost)

Historic building with many original features. Central location with plenty of parking and swimming pool complex with jacuzzi is great. Friendly and helpful staff on reception- thank you.
No Tea/coffee in the room.
Friendly staff , nice location very good breakfast
Nice staff good location and good breakfast
I cannot speak highly enough about the staff here. They were so helpful and accommodating to my family which included young children. They made our final days of our pilgrimage very special. I highly recommend staying here.

Historic but modern
Gym was in a hallway
Staff were great, very good with the kids supporting them to speak Spanish and loved the pool.
I've been 3 times in Hotel Monumento San Francisco after finishing El Camino de Santiago. I always come back because everything about this hotel is perfect and so is the staff.
I booked this hotel through Booking.com instead of making the reservation directly with the hotel as I always did beforeI was SO unhappy with the room I got this time. Small, bare, with a Twin size bed.... I complained in the Reception and for the second night on they were so nice to change me to a much better room.Never before I had this situation.

The location is great! And the staff was friendly and helpful.
Would like the jacuzzi hotter.
Everything except temperature control. The internal structure of the hotel is spectacular.
I could not adjust the temperature in my room, in spite of the prompt assistance of staff.
I went back to San Francisco Hotel Monumento in Santiago-just finished my second Camino, crashed there three nights. Spot on for pilgrims: five minutes from the cathedral, but tucked in silence, no Plaza square racket. Walls feel ancient, like ghosts of old monks approving your blisters. First visit two years back? Huge room, plush bed, every plug and hair-dryer you need. This round, they stuck me in a shoebox-shower's leaky, loose tiles, but hey, sleep was fine. Still worth it for the vibe!
Need to update the bathroom in the room I stayed - loose tiles, leaky shower. I slept fine, however. It was still worth staying at the hotel. It always gives me a sense of history and great vibe. Highly recommend!

The hotel is set in a beautiful old building set back away from noisy roads. It has the potential to be very quiet. It has a good location very close to the cathedral and the centre. The room was fairly large and had adequate storage facilities but everything looked tired. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
No kettle and not even any drinking water provided. The room was functional not luxurious. The walls separating the rooms are paper thin with zero sound insulation. One night we experienced the people on each side of us coming in at 1 am screaming and shouting and playing very loud music. We had to call reception staff who came and fortunately managed to stop the noise after about an hour. Not the hotel's fault but I had chosen this hotel on the basis that it would be quiet, away from the road etc. It isn't good value for money.
great staff , very helpfull and polite, especially for car parkingbreakfast very good
shower in bathtube need to be upgraded.. all others very good
Awesome historic property, renovated beautifully, great location, helpful staff, great breakfast, large rooms
