    Pros +

    • Everything was great. Excellent location.
    • Small cozy family hotel in the center of Santiago. Near the cathedral, with the Spanish vibe. Very good quality and price balance.
    • Having slept at the Hotel Real before, I knew and remembered the location is exceptional, right in the very heart of Santiago. The hotel has a cosy feel to it and whilst basic it meets all the essential needs.

    Cons -

    • Soundproofing. I could hear the noise and voices going up and down the stairs.
    • Everything was fine considering the price. There was no hairdryer, and there was no place to put stuff in the bathroom.
    • The sound proofing is not the best and you could hear people talking / walking in other rooms.

The size of the room, a little too small

    7LarryPosted on: 11-2-2025

    Great location

Lots of street noise. We are in party central

    8RobPosted on: 10-18-2025

Location is excellent. Arrived late at night. Check-in was easy. Beds good. No breakfast available.

    8JoseePosted on: 10-6-2025

Great location between the Train Station and the Cathedral, 15 minute walk to both

Beds are hard and uncomfortable and no elevator

    7DonnaPosted on: 10-2-2025

It was a great location but also noisy because we overlooked the street.

Very small bathroom. And our room was on the third floor over looking the street so although a great location in the old city people need to be aware that it can be quite noisy thoughtout the night - it was hot so we had to have the window open.

    The location was great.

The other guests were extremly noisy and the walls are very thin so you could hear the next rooms guest snoring

    9BiancaPosted on: 9-30-2025

Central location, a short walk to the Cathedral and plenty of places to eat all around. The windows lock really well to block noise and sunlight for a good rest after a long Camino.

It wasn't the hottest in Santiago yet our room was toasty without open windows which make it difficult to sleep with outside noise. AC isn't common which is fine but maybe a fan could help

Excellent location. Paid parking 3 minutes walking.

Has no lift, don’t forget that. You can hear everything from outside, but it’s ok since the location it’s awesome

    7CandacePosted on: 9-21-2025

    Adequate.

Bed hard, shower very small and had mold in corners.

    7KathrynPosted on: 9-15-2025

    Central location in old town

Not the hotel's fault but neighbouring room's guests were exceptionally noisy and kept me awake slamming doors screaming and shouting until 11pm. Got woken again at 4am by same guests. No one on reception to complain to

    9MerrillPosted on: 9-2-2025

Location was terrific, breakfast included was perfectly fine.

This is totally on us and also due to a the fact that it is an old historic building but the bed was a little small for two people. Again, this is not the hotels fault:) we loved our room?

    10YuvrajPosted on: 8-25-2025

Excellent location and my room 32 was spacious. It was easy to get keys from cafe next door.

    5KerrianePosted on: 8-6-2025

The location was great as right in the centre, easy for cathedral and other visits.Lots of choice for food and drink.

The room was on the top floor with no lift, when you have walked the Camino it can be a little tiresome. It’s an old building so the room was extremely hot, although a fan was supplied. As we had walked the Camino it would have been nice to maybe have water in the room. Check in was strange as we had to go next door to the cafe and then back again, maybe the cafe could have offered a complimentary drink.Although breakfast was meant to be included we left at 7:30am to get to bus station, there was no signs of breakfast availability. It might be a nice idea to have an option where you could take a piece of fruit or juice. We were not informed of options when we checked in. The staff allowed us to drop our bags off early as we were unable to check in until the room was available, this was handy as we didn’t want to carry our ruck sacks around the city. As we only stayed for one night it was manageable, but anymore would have been too much.Cold water in the room and maybe an option for discount in the cafe could be a nice touch for tired pilgrims.

    2AllisonPosted on: 8-2-2025

Received a message when my room was ready, but it was missing check-in instructions. No one answered the phone when I called from the front door.

No check-in staff, bartender next door had me waiting a long time to get checked in, asked for a sello but was told there weren't any. Then arrived at the room, which smelled like cigarettes despite being a non-smoking room. Shower stall was cramped and uncomfortable. Not sound-insulated. Didn't really have anything in the room to justify the €162 price point.

    9KellyPosted on: 7-26-2025

The location was very close to the Cathedral and lots of wonderful shops and restaurants.

    8CristinaPosted on: 7-24-2025

    Good location and clear.

Small rooms, above all the bath!
