Cons -
- It was hard to find the location of the hotel' even with Maps or Waze. The hotel should write a detailed explanation how to get there.
- For 2 nights there were private parties in the courtyard that we had to go thru to get to our rooms. The AC would not go below 20 and there was a fair going on with incredible noise so had to close windows. Mattress was very hard-mentioned to front desk
- The hotel does not turn the air conditioner on during the winter. When you open the window to let some fresh air in you cannot sleep because of the gaitero playing until late at night. Ask for an inside facing room.

The location cannot be better. The breakfast is great and it is super spacious. The bathroom is amazing.

Location and uniqueness
My bath towel was not replaced when it was removed. I had left it hanging on the rack and it did not need to be removed.
The hotel exceeded my expectations in every aspect, both the installation and staff. I look forward to returning.
Not a thing.
Tired property which needs urgent renovation of the rooms. Beds are tiny and uncomfortable. Staff is nice at front desk but unfriendly at the breakfast room. Breakfast itself is good but service is like in a cafeteria at best. 4 star property at best in a 5 star building.
Excellent location, right in downtown, the hotel ambiance is amazing, in sync with its name.
Due to the size of the hotel, we had to walk a little to get to our room, but it was not a big inconvenience.
Excellent location and staff, set in a historic building
The eggs were the only disappointment, but overall the breakfast was excellent, just like all the hotel.
Close to cathedral.
Property was under construction. Inside and outside. My room was ground floor, near elevator. Noise was constant from elevator and guests in the hallway. Also from side street just outside my windows. Staff did not even ask how my stay was.
Convenient to all the city’s sites, very helpful front desk
Dining at hotel was extremely overpriced for dinner & food mediocre. Front facade currently under restoration
I loved the historical aspect of the hotel. I can stay in a brand new luxury hotel anywhere in the world. Yes, the Four Season, The Oriental, the Ritz... they are lovely and very lux but they are all cut from the same mold. When I can I love historical hotels with character. Parador does that really well and when in Spain I do look for them when traveling.
1. I was disappointed initially with my room. I booked a suite based on the photo examples of the room. I wanted a 'larger' room with an area to sit. So when I arrived was shown to a very different kind of room I was not happy. I was given a room with a bedroom, and then a separate living room located down a hallway. I'm one person so I can't use both at once plus both were small and claustrophobic. I went to front desk and asked about a change. They were totally book so I was stuck. I was able to move the following day... but it was still an inconvenience. 2. Lack of an actual concierge. I like hotels that have an actual concierge, not just a front dest that performs some the functions.
The staff were extremely attentive. The room was nice and big and very clean. The location was excellent right at the cathedral. The historical building was intriguing and very cool to stay at Everything was as it should be for a Hotel of this caliber.
Everything was just fine no complaints
Beautiful, historic hotel right next to the cathedral. We treated ourselves to a couple of nights after completing the Camino from Porto. Great beds & pillows, excellent staff, great breakfast.
A little pricey compared to other options but not out of line with similar rates of historic hotels in other medieval cities.
Beautiful parador. Location excellent. Staff so kind and helpful. The lounge was big and comfortable. We had drinks and some good in the bar. The process were reasonable. Toiletries were good quality. Bed comfortable
I was traveling with my two adult children but had to reserve two rooms. All rooms at this parador only accommodate two persons max
Historical hotel adjacent to the Cathedral and sights, restaurants and shopping. Two restaurants and one cafeteria/bar onsite. Excellent breakfast buffet with hot made to order options. Staff friendly and helpful.
Location and service
The air was not on and the windows had to be open and I couldn’t sleep due to the church bells
A gorgeous historic building on the plaza of the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. The restaurant was outstanding for both the food and atmosphere. Great breakfast buffet.
Location, historic feel and amenities which rivaled none. Absolutely spectacular
Amazing location. Beautiful, historical building with a storied past and incredible architecture. Stunning amenities, big bathrooms, comfort as one would expect. Very close to cafes, restaurants, and of course the cathedral and the credential office if you have walked El Camino.
Perhaps a little overpriced, but then there is nothing else like it.
