About

This historic building is located just 656 feet from Santiago Cathedral, by the San Miguel dos Agros Church. It offers an attractive Feng Shui garden and stylish rooms with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TV. All rooms at the Hotel San Miguel offer unique views over the many Baroque buildings in the surroundings. These include the San Martin Pinario Monastery, set opposite the hotel. Rooms at San Miguel all have hardwood furniture, minimalist décor and a bathroom with hairdryer. Some also feature a characteristic Compostelan gallery. The property is in the historic heart of Compostela, in an area with traffic restrictions. Parking is available nearby. You can reach Praza do Obradoiro Square and the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in a 6-minute walk. Praza de Praterías Silversmith's Square is 1476 feet away.

Pros +

  • Great location, nice people and comfortable room.
  • For being in the old City Center it is quite well mantained and updated. Staff was very accommodating.
  • Location, view over garden, opening the window to ‘feel’ the fresh Santiago air, elevator, helpful and friendly staff, the breakfasts with espresso con leche, the stillness of night through the open window, plenty of umbrellas, heating, hot shower.

Cons -

  • The room has been renovated; I thought it would maintain the old flair a bit more
  • The breakfast starts kind of late so I regret having pay for it since I couldn't use it everyday.
  • At one point during the first evening my balcony door flew open and stayed that way over night, this was a bit creepy but nothing bad happened - thankfully no water got in. Another thing that came up was forgetting my hotel key in my room and needing to ask a neighbor to call for help since the front desk isn’t staffed overnight.

This was the perfect place to stay after finishing the Camino! Right next to the Cathedral and the city center, it made everything super walkable and easy to access. The rooms were clean and a great place to come back to after a long day!

It’s the perfect blend of historic charm and updated amenities, especially the tub and shower.

It is on the quiet part of the town, but close to the cathedral. I had a wonderful stay after my camino. My room was spacey, had the balcony and a view of the church. I never felt unsafe walking in and out of the hotel at night, very nice and helpful staff. Very comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels. Breakfast was offered but did not take it. The hotel is also close to the laundromat. I would stay there again and would recommend it to anyone!

None that I could think of.

The bedroom was lovely, clean enough, and location was amazing. The staff really helpful.

It was very noisy. You can hear the street and people talking, walking past all night.

10TraciPosted on: 11-5-2025

The location and the view were both fabulous. Also, it was very quiet. The bathroom in the shower were wonderful and it was close to everywhere we wanted to be.

I liked everything about it?

Away from the crowds, hear the church bells ringing. Staff excellent! And the rooms vary. This time a view to the cobblestone streets.

You charged me twice and I need that fixed.

Beautiful boutique hotel. Great location. Very comfortable bed.

The top floor only has skylight windows.

10VictoriaPosted on: 10-28-2025

Pretty room and lovely welcome from the concierge who gave helpful tips on where to go. Breakfast was outstanding. The best!

There was a glass panel between the bathroom and bedroom which meant when you turned the bathroom light on the bedroom was illuminated too.
