Close to the beach and beautiful pool and outdoors

We had an issue with the air conditioning in our room and they were not able to fix it

The grounds they were beautiful and well maintained Staff was very uneven. The front desk staff the most failing

Felt for 4.5 the bathroom lacked a variety of toiletries only shampoo and body wash were given ..the towels were also on the thin side need to be replaced

Location

Our balcony and room views of beach were highlight. Breakfasts and setting were great as well as multiple outdoor venues to sit or relax. Soundproofing of sliding door was great. Housekeeping did a very good job.

Room was small. Furniture and wardrobe were antiquated. Need to have trained and dedicated concierges. Improve dinner and lunch choices n site. Pizzas at Il Basilico were only good choices.

Great location , good breakfast

Rooms and bathrooms are in dire need of a redo. Our ocean view room was right above the bar with live music. Super loud, after calling reception they said they would make note of it....Never changed us into another room.

This property was amazing, the ocean view was the best.

The parking garage was wayyyyyyy too small and very narrow.

The overall hotel and its facilities - clean and well-maintained. Nice activities schedule. And nice that we could use the facilities of both PortoBay Blue Ocean and PortoBay Falesia.

The room was not very spacious or cozy. One of the reception staff and one of the restaurant staff (Il Basilico) was impolite. And the food in the restaurant was overpriced but way below average in quality (especially the pizza and the pasta).

Hotel is clean and they have a great buffet breakfast. The view from the hotel to the sea is amazing.

Amazing location on the cliffs and beach

Some of the facility felt and looked old. Hot tub was not hot. Pool was not heated.

The location is spectacular. The views from the hotel are amazing. The beach is also more relaxed, very long and beautiful.Some staff were nice and helpful. However it seems like they are overloaded.The hotel was clean, facilities were great. Rooms are a bit old but clean

Most often reception staff were overloaded, hence I assume we were treated as the 'next work' to finish and move as soon as possible to the next one.A few staff in the restaurant were rude (once we got "late" for dinner, reached at 9:15 PM, one staff member said - you know it right, buffet closes at 9:30? That made us feel very unwelcome and we rushed to finish dinner as soon as possible and get out of there. Though at reception we were told dinner timings are till 10 PM)That also shows that staff are under pressure to be ready for the next task.I cannot recommend the dinner buffet, most dishes are a bit bland and after a few days (even if they switch to different themes, but don't change much) will feel repetitive. Food at restaurants outside, nearby was tastier than the hotel.The breakfast box is a huge disappointment, very basic sandwiches which are too dry, we had to throw it away. That breakfast box also indicated how little care was given into it, we felt why bother with this, just not offer this service.1 water bottle for the entire stay is also a bit ridiculous, money wise it doesn't change much but 1 water bottle per day will improve the feeling for the hotel service.Overall such things made us feel unwelcome, definitely not felt like it is a 4 star hotel. Maybe not directly the fault of the staff, they might simply be overloaded.

Beautiful views and location on Falesia beach. The terraces and pool were amazing. I especially liked the fact that there was no reserving of beach / pool loungers. It was so civilized compared to many other resorts and cruises we’ve been to where the staff do not enforce the rule that does not allow for reserving lounge chairs. The dinner menu at Basilico was great and very good. The access to Falesia beach was great. We rented a car and parking was not a problem. No cost which was nice.

The lunch menu items at Il Basilico were not that impressive. For the price and the place, I would have expected a much more eclectic and exciting menu with more than a standard burger and fries etc. the pizzas were good. The chicken wrap had no taste and the burger was a standard frozen patty. Cleaning staff were quite friendly as was all other staff however the cleaning staff were not the most attentive. Sometimes they would not remove and replace dirty cups, the tub / shower was not always cleaned and I had to call twice for extra toilet paper. Also the boxed breakfast was atrocious compared to the lovely and great breakfast buffet. Sandwiches without butter, horrible bread for sandwiches ( or the great fresh bread at the buffet). They could be a bit more generous given we paid for that breakfast too. Why not add a pasteis de nata instead of some horrible piece of pound cake? Anyway, not impressed with the breakfast box at all. If you need to leave the hotel before 7am and can’t make the buffet, don’t bother paying for that morning’s breakfast.

Beautiful property with excellent amenities like the pool, gym, spa and daily activities!

Excellent location with great views of the beach and cliffs. One hundred steps to the beach which I didn’t mind at all because it’s totally worth it after the amazing breakfast.

The hotel grounds offer a breathtaking view of brick-colored canyons and the ocean — a sight you simply never get tired of. It’s just a five-minute walk down the stairs to a spectacular golden beach. The pool is large and clean, perfect for both relaxing and swimming. "Il Basilico" is hands down the best hotel restaurant I’ve experienced. The dinner menu features true standouts, like the seafood risotto — an easy 10/10 — and it’s all served with the best ocean view from its terrace.

Breakfast could have been better, with richer menu and more rotations. The food quality was good, no complaints.
