Food could be improved

Our apartment here was amazing - we had 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, a full kitchen and dining/living room, and an incredible wrap around patio! Our patio overlooked the ocean and the view was just stunning. We walked through a short path from our building to the next building for our meals. The restaurant was good and the service was excellent. It was a short walk from our apartment down to the town, and we were so happy to find out that Christmas in Albufeira is quite warm and sunny. We saw some people swimming at the beach (not many; it was a bit cold for that) and we were all able to wear shorts and walk barefoot in the sand. Coming from the cold northeastern USA, this was such a great find, and we adored the patio and view!

I had read reviews that the town wasn't that great, but we were there Christmas Day so it wasn't overly touristy.

Good location, great exercise walking up lots of stairs from Centro . The shuttle was good but should run more often as it was sometimes too full to get on.

We had a full kitchen but were very surprised there was no dish soap or dish cloth provided to do our dishes. We asked the front desk for dish soap and they said to go buy our own. We have rented many condos/apartments over the years and all over the world and we have never been told to buy our own soap to do dishes when we rent a place that has a kitchen with dishes and cookware. This kind of turned us off / seemed very cheap when you are paying good money for accommodations.

Nice property close to the old town

It’s very old-fashioned not to be able to pay with a card at the hotel. They excepted only cash for renting towels or for the airport transfer service. People from many countries don’t want to use cash these days.

The location of the apartment was great. The facilities at the main hotel were nice. The pools were nice.

My daughter had to sleep on the trundle bed that was under the couch. The couch was old, dirty and stained. The trundle felt like you were sleeping on springs. The light in the bathroom kept going out after a minute. When you were in the shower it would go off. You would have to put your arm out of the shower and wave it around to get the light to come back on. Same if you were on the toilet or brushing your teeth. The light kept timing out.

Steps to the town with buggy was difficult but still ok.Side lamp needed for bedroom.

Rooms were spacious.

Food options over priced. Shuttle not frequent enough and doesnt go late enough. No dishwasher tabs, or dish soap or cloth.

Streams of Ants running through the apartment. Bad cleaning service.

My apartment was full of ants. Literally entire streams of ants going from outside through our apartment to God knows where. Staff did nothing to stop it. They just mopped the floor and two hours later it was all back to the same state as before. Also, the daily cleaning was terrible. They only switched bath towels with new ones and took out the garbage. We left breadcrumbs on the TV table and on the kitchen balcony to test it and they never cleaned it in 10 days. Once we checked out, they cleaned the apartment in under 10 minutes.Seems like a good deal but isn't. Spend a little more and go somewhere else.

We recently stayed at Cerro Mar Atlântico and had a very enjoyable experience overall. Here are some highlights and important things to consider before booking:Positives:•Cleanliness: Excellent. The room and common areas were spotless.•Staff: Generally helpful and courteous throughout our stay.•Food:•The Wednesday rooftop BBQ was fantastic — 100% worth it!•The Thursday night buffet was outstanding. The crepes were especially memorable — authentic and delicious.•Comfort:•Beds were very comfortable.•Room service was great with daily fresh towels.•The kitchen was well-equipped, which made a big difference during our stay.

Room 101 – Pros & Cons:•We stayed in Room 101, which has no view, so if a view is important to you, make sure to book an ocean-view room (though these aren’t guaranteed).•The upside of our room: it had a washing machine, which the nicer-view rooms didn’t have. That was a big bonus for us as we were continuing our travels and wanted to refresh our clothes.•Tip: You may need to look up the washing machine manual online, as it wasn’t very intuitive.•There’s a clothes drying rack on the balcony — clothes took about a day to dry.Important Note on Beach Towels:•The hotel offers beach towels through the spa for a €5 deposit per towel, refundable when you return them.•However, the spa only opens from 9 AM to 6 PM, which is inconvenient if you’re checking out early.•We left at 7 AM and initially were told we couldn’t return the towels or get our deposit back.•Thankfully, Daniel at the front desk (July 26th, 7:25 AM) found a logical and fair solution: he took the towels and personally gave us the cash and arranged for the deposit to be refunded once the spa opened.•Kudos to Daniel for his understanding and customer-focused approach.•Tip: Return towels the day before if you’re checking out early — not everyone at the front desk may be as accommodating.Final Thoughts:While the hotel offers great amenities, food, and comfort, I personally would not return to Cerro Mar Atlântico simply because Albufeira was too busy for my taste.We later visited Praia da Rocha in Portimão, and found it quieter and more beautiful, with a more relaxed atmosphere and beautiful hotels.

Loved the location wasn't too far from the main walk streets and the beach a perfect walk! The room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels were provided which we desperately needed it was quiet had an amazing balcony and we really enjoyed ourselves. The kitchen was amazing and useful!

Underground parking was an extra fee so we didn't use it juat found street parking but that wasn't really a big deal

The pool right outside our balcony was very nice. Laundry in room was great and kitchen in room was awesome but not very well equipped. A dishcloth would be nice and dish soap or dishwasher pucks would be helpful.

Location was okay but lots of steps (99) down to old town where all the action is. We did this a couple of times a day which was a good workout but not suitable for older or unfit people.

Swiming pool outsite greate but not heated. So end of April water in pool bit cold but ok to stay 5 minutes in water

Friendly, efficient staff. Lovely food. Helpful staff in leisure centre. Great facilities to suit everyone.

Nice location and well presented

Ants in kitchen. Too many rules and regulations. Nowhere to lock luggage on last day(a shared unsafe open luggage room)

Comfortable beds.Nice breakfast.Large pool.Shop just across the road.

Pool was freezing cold.Some large groups of young people partying above us kept us awake until til after 4am.

The hotel was nice and clean as were the rooms, very spacious. Great location.i

The hotel and apartments connected to the hotel were spacious and clean. Breakfast in the hotel was inviting and plentiful. A variety of hot and cold choices.

I didn't like wearing that ugly hat in the indoor swimming pool :(

We looked the room as it had a lovely sea view and was exceptionally cleanWe liked the location, which is just 7 minutes down the steps to the Old TownWe liked the pool because its big and very cleanWe liked the spa facilitiesWe liked the shop just 30 seconds up the hill.We liked pretty much everything.We didnt try the restaurant as we always eat out.

Historically, the hotel allowed same sex groups although they appear to have introduced policies to prevent this.Make sure it stays that way please.
