The hotel was nice and clean.

A bit far from the city center and old town and no public transportation so if you do not have a car then you will have to uber. Overall good value.

Very nice staff during breakfast and dinner. Great view from the breakfast Terrance. They removed the towels from people who blocked sun beds in the morning at least once - afterwards everyone could usually always find a free sun bed - i appreciate it a lot and I know most hotels never go through the trouble.

The staff at the reception was not very polite.The beach towel policy (they are exchanged only every 3. Day, if You need it mor frequently you pay 3 euros per towel) was not explained in the beginning.It takes about 15 minutes to reach the beach.The pool was pretty dirty (also because the shower next to the pool was not working) and very shallow.

Staff is incredibly nice and helpful with anything, best guest service I’ve met in PortugalRooms are dressy, spacious enough, comfortable and cleanBreakfast is exceptional with clearly fresh options Location is a little away from city but quite liked that, easy 5min drive reachable from city and train station or about 30min walk

Walls are a bit paper thin, and you could hear the noise, but it doesn't bother too much

The warmth of the Portuguese people and the Brazilians that also made my stay perfect

Although it is on the main road..I never heard traffic and my room ..even though hotel was booked was very quiet.

This was my second stay here. 10+ years ago I stayed here with a bigger group of friends. And now revisited with my wife only. Hotel changed a lot (went through a renovation) and got even better. For us the location was just excellent. Not in a crowded location but still everything is close and nice. Easy parking, very good restaurants nearby. Staff incredibly helpful. View was cool. Breakfast is just excellent. I have never had a breakfast before where you can actually extract honey from a honeycomb for yourself. ?

The only minor issue we had is that our room was directly located under the breakfast area which became quite noisy from around 7:15 AM with legs of chairs scratching the floor above us. Was really just a minor thing.

I liked the pool area, and the comfy bed, staff was very nice

Late at night the laughing/talking from the communal area was extremely loud even with earplugs so we couldn’t sleep

Everything was perfect. The breakfast was not bad. Coffee was marvellous! Most of the staff were helpful.

One reception guy was rude. And I just don‘ t like the idea of taking my credit card for scanning the data. The hotel was pre-paid in full. The guy just demanded my card for scanning - under the stupid pretext - to secure the proper payment for the items in the mini-bar. The fridge actually contained two cans of cola. One tiny bottle of beer and some candy bar. That‘s it. Imagine -I paid 160 euro for the hotel to steal this very cola:).

I was very happy with the Velamar hotel , Staff were friendly, helpful & spoke good english, hotel spotlessly clean , brilliant selection & variety for breakfast , pool area relaxing.

Absolutely loved this hotel, it exceeded my expectations. Extremely clean hotel and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing! We will definitely return!

Quite a walk to the beach but the hotel was well priced

Excellent place,beautiful location,close to the beach,the staff were great and service was always done with a smile.The bar staff we're exceptional,the receptionist was also very helpful.

The pool location-was shaded by the building, we ended up going to the beach instead

Staff was friendly, the room was a good size, and clean, and bed was confortable. Breakfast was really good. The location is a bit far from city center to walk and although we didn't go to the beach it seems like a good walk to it. Hotel has parking on site which is a plus.

Every member of staff is so friendly and helpful, always greeting us with a warm smile,, the room was spotlessly clean and the bed was enormous, plenty of choice for breakfast every morning , . For the money we paid it's exceptional value .

Very disapointed in the tea and coffee facilities in the room. As you must get many British guests you need to undersatnd how important cups of tea are to us both on waking and at any time that they return to their room in the day. My critisms are: 1: That you do not have milk in the fridge and have to ask for a small jug from the bar.2: The cups are far to small - tea cups need to be twice the size of the coffee cups provided ~ Brits drink quantities of tea unlike coffee drinkers who prefer the reverse.3: There is insuffiecient work space to boil the kettle, make tea and dispose of the tea bags.

This is a modern and comfortable hotel, we had a room with balcony over looking the pool / garden area. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, check in/ out was with ease..The bed was super comfy and nice bed linen. Breakfast was awesome and it was really nice on roof top with a view. Id definitely stay there again, if in area.

Freshly decorated small property. Lovely little touches such as homemade biscuits, a small gift on departure. Eco friendly...no small plastic milk pots etc... fresh jug of milk available at the bar.Lovely roof top breakfast room with a good selection of food.Small pool- peaceful, 11:00 am and just us around the pool. Checked in at 12- room was ready early, balcony upgrade and again a peaceful pool area even at that time.

Since the new refurb ....the room have become not fIT for comfort, or storage....no usable side tables. NO DRESSING TABLE ...JUST 3 DRAWS IN THE WHOLE OF THE ROOM....ALL WALLS AND CARPET DARK BLUE. AND THE ART WORK, WAS MORE FITTING FOR A NIGHT CLUB, NOT FOR A SUNNY HOLIDAY .. AND THE USELESS PIECE OF HUGE VERY SLIM BOOK CASE ! , WERE THE DRESSING TABLE SHOULD BE WAS AWFUL.....NO MIRROR IN BEDROOM TO SAT AT TO DO HAIR/MAKE...ONLY A MIRROR IN BATHROOM . YOU HAVE TO STAND UP TO DO HAIR / MAKEUP....NOT GREAT IF YOU HAVE A DISABILITY. TOILET ROLL BEHIND THE TOILET , NOT IN A CONVENIENT POSTION AT ALL. .......LIKED IT BETTER BEFORE THE THE REFURB. DID COMPLAIN ABOUT LACK OF DRAWS GIVEN TWO TROLLYS TO PUT MEDICINES, PERFUMES, CREAMS LOTIINS AND BRUSHES ETC ON......ROOM SOOOOOOO DARK AND WHO WANTS THAT ON HOLIDAY. MRS RUTH SUMMERS

THE ROOM VERY VERY DARK ( navy blue walks and carpet, no MIRROR or dressing table in room or any draws ! Worst refurb ever seen !
