    Pros +

    • Location
    • Beautiful location!
    • Iconic red cabins that are very homey and cozy to stay in

    Cons -

    • We only spend one night and did not see any staff.
    • Miscommunication from staff regarding whether breakfast was included in our original booking or not. They told us via email it was included in our original booking and would provide us a refund (we paid for it on site) and then they later changed their mind regarding providing a refund. Also, don’t pay for breakfast here - it’s overpriced and bland. Recommend to stay here but go elsewhere to get meals. Also, the sauna was overpriced. Wouldn’t recommend.
    • Although we understand the reason, having small hot water tanks was a bit of a downer when you did a long hike and want to take a long shower to relax. One strange thing we found was that the dish soap didn’t look like dish soap and was a bit difficult to know which was which. My fiancé was comfortable in the bed.

Beautiful area. And super friendly staff.

Booked a twin bed, but got a bunk bed (impossible for some elderly to climb up, so had so sleep on the couch. Also no coffe or tea bags in the room. Parking view. Very basic breakfast.

The view was spectacular. The facilities were warm, nice, and modern for the location.

I didn't fully consider that the sun wouldn't be out for the majority of our stay, but that's my bad for not thinking about that. I wish we could have seen the view more! But I don't regret staying whatsoever.

    Location and view

They put us to the old and unmatched our booking cabin. The power trip on and off. The building feel like to collapse when the strong wind. We were in front of the garbage collection area. Choice of breakfast is not good.

    9MichaelPosted on: 12-27-2025

Very clean, spacious and the kitchen is well equipped with what you need to make basic meals.

The room we were given did not have a great view, and parking was a bit challenging to get.

Stunning breath-taking viewGreat restaurant. The bathroom floor is heated. Great thumb up.

Suggest the reception could advise in advance that coffee machine (powder) / instant coffee or tea bag are not available (provided) in the room.

I love my stay at Eliassen Rorbuer very very much. I and my hubby could live our slow live as we expected. Location of the residence was very spectacular. All facilities were definitely matched our needs. I would visit this place again for sure if I have a chance to visit Lofoten.

Nothing. I could say I love Eliassen Rorbuer.

The view from our cabin is stunning and we got the chance to see the Northern Light without even driving. It is pitch black behind our cabin, although it was cloudy for the first day of our stay, it wasn't bad at all on the next day. There is a sofa bed on the living room where you could lie down and see stars from the glass ceiling. Our cabin is the waterfront view.

The bed is too small and the pillow is too thin. The hot water tank is small, so it is easy to run out of hot water and you have to wait for 1 hour for it to fill up again.

    8HongPosted on: 10-27-2025

We chose this place for viewing Northern Lights. And we were lucky to have one night with clear sky. We walked a few steps from our room to the water side of the deck - a breathtaking aurora borealis scene was right above us. The rorbuer / cabin definitely exceeded our expectation in this regard, and everything else became secondary though all were to our satisfaction.

Not intended to complain but if we go back to Norway and want to stay here again, please know the two chairs in the living room are a bit hard to sit on for long, and the sofa is not ergonomic as an alternative either.

    10FriedensonPosted on: 10-23-2025

Great rooms overlooking the fjord. Could sit in the warmth of the room and watch the Aurora Borealis dance in the sky through the window and skylight. Stood on the pier for a 270° view of the sky with beautiful snow capped peaks surrounding. The heat in the room worked well. The food at breakfast was well prepared and the pastries perfectly flakey. The staff was friendly and efficient.

The only problem we had was the dryer took my credit card but then didn’t work. However, this gave the great staff an opportunity to demonstrate their customer friendliness as the front desk clerk immediately assisted me and fixed the problem. Great service when needed.

    7JasminePosted on: 10-21-2025

It was close to touristy spots.

The website and Google says it is a 3 star hotel but I just stayed at another 3 star hotel on lofoten and it was extremely different. If I was paying for a 3 star hotel pricing, which is why I booked eliassen, I expected more from the stay. Unfortunately the stay was not on par with its website and pictures. It felt scammy for being so deceptive and the breakfast wasn't even good.

    8MaryPosted on: 10-14-2025

The view, even with rain, is incredible. Great to have a free charging station and a good restaurant on site.

Small cramped bedroom with the double bed shoved up against the wall on one side and no room to walk around the end, so you have to climb over the other person.

    10DebbiePosted on: 10-13-2025

Family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) stayed in a 2 bedroom over water bungalow and had a great experience. If you don’t do an over water cabin, it’s not really worth it. They had food truck, restaurant and bakery on site. Good location to other villages. Loved it and would recommend.

The smoke alarms were very very sensitive. Just turning on the heater set them off.

    9LingPosted on: 10-7-2025

Location is gorgeous. Kitchen has all we need. Breakfast has variety to choose from.

There is only 1 mirror in the bathroom, need another mirror. Also there is no instructions how to turn the induction cooktop on, we took long time to figure it out. After we left and submitted property review then received a message the instructions are behind some cabinets door! Hidden away from view! Why not put it in a visible spot?

    1WorawutPosted on: 10-5-2025

    Only the view

Not worth the money you pay . Kitchen was small and 2 bed rooms even more smaller. I won’t recommend or stay it again

Stayed at Eliassen Rorbuer and absolutely loved it! The staff were very helpful and friendly. A nice spot to watch the Northern Lights at night. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need, which made cooking so easy. Really enjoyed my stay and will definitely book here again when I return to Lofoten.
