    Pros +

    • One of the most beautiful settings ever!
    • The view and the city but the property is so overrated. Full of tourists, service crap
    • Beautiful garden and comfortable rooms and very good breakfast

    Cons -

    • One of the guys in the office was a bit bit rude. Called us three times asking for our passports, which I kept telling him we did not have with us. Gave me lot's of attitude. The women at the front desk were lovely.
    • Dining was extremely subpar. Took forever, nothing special, they messed up multiple things. Took forever dark in the garden, not that cosy
    • Reception nit very good.. not much lunch on offer snack dinner very moderate Room service too expensive and no coffee/tea provided in rooms .. lack of comfortable places to sit in the hotel.. bar area not comfortable ... outside sitting good

Fantastic views and attention to detail in the hotel and room.

Very difficult to find and no instructions sent telling us where to park which was out of the town. Then charged us an extra 50 euro for transfer in. The pool is not great and definitely not an infinity pool. Michelin star restaurant good but taking mickey with some of the prices or 26 euro for a bottle of water!

The location was exceptionally beautiful. The views were gorgeous, hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful. The service was great, the food delicious. It’s unlike any other place in Amalfi, it’s not crowded with tourists, very serene atmosphere in the whole of hotel.

No spa, however it’s not that big of a deal.

    Views and garden

Co access by car, you need 15 minutes up and down the hill to walk to any destination you could need..

The hotel is beautiful, the apartment is extremely comfortable, each room, each corridor is beautiful, especially the ceramic floors, which are beautiful. The gardens are a highlight in themselves, much more beautiful than in the photos, we went in autumn, I was imagining what it would be like in spring.

I missed a heated pool and a better gym.

Very beautiful and felt privileged to stay there. A bit of a trek if you aren’t mobile. Gorgeous breakfast. Wasn’t enamoured with the incredibly expensive dinner. Wasn’t really worth the money. But I’m glad to have stayed there and experienced it once.

Stunning villa in beautiful gardens, staff very welcoming, nice Pool area, beautiful room, lovely welcome gift and complimentary non alcoholic mini bar, lovely lunch and dinner.Friendly, helpful sommelier.

Breakfast. Coffee was awful. Stayed once before, years ago and had a wonderful experience at breakfast, so good it made me come back. A wonderful lady had bought me out beautiful pastries and anything I’d wanted, But this time it was a poorly stocked buffet, the apple juice had gone off and the bread was disappointing . The staff were lovely and tried hard but were uncoordinated, coffee took forever to come and then had no taste. Others waited an age too for their hot drinks. Beautiful view but a shame they changed the original set up.

Classic beautiful Ravello villa. We'd visited before but never stayed, and the views are as stunning as ever. Breakfast was good but sadly upstaged by the hotel we'd stayed in the previous few days. The view from the breakfast terrace is stunning. The hotel in general is impressive and attractive. We were very impressed by the bar adjacent to the restaurant, lovely setting and the staff there were friendly and pleasant.

While historically impressive, we didn't find the villa super comfortable as a hotel. We'd been wowed by the gardens on a previous visit to Ravello and returned as part of our honeymoon as a 'special treat'. Sadly we were disappointed. It's nice enough but (for us) not worth the hefty price tag. Just little things like not being allowed to use the air conditioning. The very fancy and expensive restaurant also sadly didn't quite live up to expectations. We will certainly return to Ravello, i would happily visit the Cimbrone gardens again and i'm glad to have experienced a stay there, but we will not be staying again.

The Villa and its gardens were spectacular, the staff were very kind and helpful, I had to phone reception because our air-conditioning wasn't working and they had it sorted straight away, the room was exceptionally clean and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with an excellent choice including some cooked options. Couldn't fault the service either. We had a wonderful stay.

The room was very hot, even when reception sorted out the air-conditioning it seemed to be stuck on 27 degrees, but we just opened the window so wasn't a problem for us.

The view, the garden & the Michelin star restaurant

Breakfast was poor and disgusting, most of the items like cheese, ham & cakes are not fresh. Dinner at their restaurant was very very bad my wife couldn’t eat her grilled fish platter because the fish was not fresh and even smelled bad (of course I’m not talking here about the Michelin star restaurant) Jasmine at the reception was rude and not helpful at all, while Maria Grazia was so friendly and professional.Staying at this hotel is not recommended, you can pay 10 euros to visit the garden and enjoy the view.

    Location, gardens, cocktails

Very cold, no heating in public areas. Breakfast area floor hadn’t been swept between dining customers. Poor choice of casual food options.

Unique views, great villa gardens, historical architecture and impressive rooms. Definitely a must visit or stay at least one night when on the Amalfi coast.

Accessibility wise it’s very challenging to get there or even go around in the villa but I understand the setting and historical value. The restaurants and the staff are a bit stiff and pretentious.

The breakfast and meal were average quality. Very nice view and the staff was friendly. Beautiful gardens and flowers.

The access to the Villa was extremely difficult specially in my case that i am disabled. They took me in an electric chair through a lot of stairs and I arrived crying due to the pain in my back. Afterwards we discover that there was an alternative road with no stairs. Each trip has a costo of 70 Euros, one way !!!!!. The access to the restaurant , to avoid stairs was by the garden outside the Villa with a lot of rain. Besides they charged 5 Euros for each bag one way .There was no way to move inside the Villa with a wheel chair, you have stairs for going to the restroom , to the restaurant , to the bar etcAllow me to clarify that I choose Villa Cimbrone because: 1) Google web site showed a wheel chair for disabled 2) Expedia web site offers valet parking ????3) Hotels.com shows valet parking and accesible wheel chair The breakfast was very poor and low service.

The outer garden area is absolutely stunning. The castle outskirts was beautiful too. We also had a great lunch at the restaurant, chef lorenzo and manger raffaele was impeccable, dishes were served ans cooked perfectly.

The location of this property is far with up and down hills and can only be reached by walking. The inside of the room is old, I tried to open the blinds and the entire blind fell on my head. Nothing was done by reception, not even apologising. Evening Staff was rude, when I returned to the hotel he barked at me “are you staying here?” I thought that was rather disrespectful having paid a large sum for this experience.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever visited in my life. The hotel itself, the gardens, above all, the setting, which is indescribably gorgeous. It is a Bucket List stay.

My only - tiny - objection, and this may well be because it was the end of a long season for them, is that some of the staff were a little jaded. Just that little bit short of the service you ideally hope for in a place such as this.
