There was a loud hum all night from a ventilation system, and it was not pleasant. Otherwise great room & place!

Not too much of an issue but we didn’t manage to turn off the heating. But we got pretty cosy!

Breakfast is great!

No enough running water in the bathroom! The reception promised an upgrade and the room was not good: badly conserved, dark, no enough water, not clean enough. After 19 years I decided to go back to this place which I found wonderful and it is not anymore! So disappointing!

We loved the cats outside. Omg so cute.

The bathroom tap was “eco friendly”, which really just means you’ll take 20 years to wash your face and end up using the same amount of water anyway.

History, clean, the tower, staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Excellent food in the restaurant.

The pool was a little noisy w/many children.

Ruben was a fantastic host, the location is superb and the history of this lovely palace cannot be replicated. The restaurant was outstanding.

We had an issue with aircon but the Ruben made it right. It’s an old castle so some issues maybe hard to avoid. Breakfast staff aren’t the most pleasant.

It was such a lovely hotel- much like a museum with so many beautiful Portuguese antiques and works of art. I made a mistake w/ the booking and not only did they accommodate my mistake, they gave us a bonus. The staff was wonderful.

Nothing- a great experience all around

Had a great stay here! We were on our honeymoon and they surprised us with a little congratulations wine/strawberries that was lovely. Breakfast was great and they also packed us a breakfast lunchbox for the morning we had to leave early.

Such an amazing experience staying in this castle and within the medieval city walls. Staff was kind, and breakfast was wonderful. Very clean and easy parking a plus!

Air conditioner could have been a little cooler, but we tend to be warm natured.

Remote. Felt very dated , simply like an older hotel.had to drive to access any other restaurants etc so location not that great. Pleasantly surprised it wasn’t drafty however.

The evening meal in the restaurant wasn't 100 %.

It was so unique, the history, the surroundings, the decor quite spectacular. The staff were extremely friendly and informative. The evening meal and breakfast were fantastic.

Exceeded my expectations. Absolutely beautiful, truly a castle. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. The property grounds were spectacular.

Good Location with parking, historic building. We were happy that the restaurant was open on sunday first of december, we were the only guests, food was good and restaurant staff very friendly.

The bedcover was very thick, warm and heavy. The shower (in the bath) did not give steady warm water (from cold to very hot).We rolled up the slippery carpet on the wooden floor.

Beautiful clean comfortable unique, lovely staff, easy parking

Breakfast was a lavish spread but not all of the items were as fresh as the usual standard in Portugal
