    Pros +

    • The breakfast was excellent, with a lovely selection of cheeses, raw honey, croissants and juices and many other things, plus the ability to order eggs if desired. The restaurant was excellent as well. When the weather is nice you can be seated in the garden for outdoor dining. The room had a portable air conditioner which kept us very comfortable. Gorgeous mountains were visible outside the window.
    • The food was great at any time of the day, we loved the breakfasts. The interior of the hotel and room is very cosy. The staff was exceptional, and we had a lovely New Year celebration.I have already recommended to a friend!
    • Excellent location.Excellent staff.Amazing breakfast.

    Cons -

    • The restaurant had an excellent venison dish in 2024 that I was looking forward to having again, but it was not on the menu in 2025. The room did not have a refrigerator.
    • The room was too outdated and small for the price. Last year during the same time period, we got a great room overlooking the garden at ~180euro/night. This year we were put in room number 16 and the rate was ~245euro/night. That is too much for a tiny room that overlooks the parking lot and has a 1 square meter large shower like you would find in a hostel.
    • Just the reception from Saxony Germany did not yet get the one tone of Austrian hospitality – there is still some room for improvement on that side. For everything else: we had a great stay.

Small boutique hotel in the village Anif close to Salzburg with excellent Austrian cuisine and service. The nature pool outside and the sauna were great and totally sufficient for some physical recreation and relaxation. We had a room facing the garden, which was very quiet and comfortable to sleep in. The room had air conditioning and a mosquito net, which was very helpful during hot summer nights.

Just the reception from Saxony Germany did not yet get the one tone of Austrian hospitality – there is still some room for improvement on that side. For everything else: we had a great stay.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, in particular the staff working at breakfast.

Location was a little remote, but that was a known at booking. Easy bus ride to downtown Salzburg or walk to Hellbrunn Palace.

The Schlosswirt is in my bones as I had previously stayed here over a period of 34 years (from age 1) when the previous landlords ran it, so I'm a little bit biased. However, this stay was lovely. The hotel still feels the same, has the creaky floorboards that bring back memories and the lovely little elevator. The rooms, both bedrooms and public rooms are inviting and comfortable. The new sauna/relaxation area has brought a bit of the 21st century to the hotel, and the pool that is t being built will be a great asset. All of the staff were friendly and attentive but special mentions have to go to Salomen who was a ray of sunshine in the mornings, Luca on reception who made us feel so welcome every day and Kalil who was knowledgeable about the wines and food and made our evenings pleasant. We had a room on the front of the building, so every morning we woke to a view of the Untersberg. This was a room that my 3 sisters abd I always had as children, so I felt like a 4 year old looking out of the window. However the room has been extended and a large bathroom installed which made it comfortable. The choice of foods gor breakfast was large and it was served in a relaxing atmosphere. Dinner was delicious, with choices that were different, backed up by Austrian staples such as Weinerschnitzel.

The staff is really nice and helpful; The location is right outside the main cities but very close to Salzburg, Outlet and other shipping malls. The breakfast is declicious and varied. The quality of the food is fresh and genuine.

The floors creek. Just to say something haha

It is a very beautiful accommodation. It is an old building restored, it combines the new and the old. There is a castle near by, it is not visitable but you can see it if you walk on an alley that starts from the property. The staff is very nice. Furthermore, they are the real definition of pet-friendly.

great staff, nice breakfast, clean room.

cold for us, maximum temperature was 20 degree, I think it's general for Austrian but we feel cold.

We loved the room it was spacious for 2 adults and 2 kids the interior design of the room and the house was very rustic and classic. The breakfast variety was excellent and was very fresh and tasty.

It would be good if hot water electric flask was provided in the room. Other than that all was good.

Absolutely gorgeous and warm. Great staff, so helpful, authentically friendly. Beautiful, cozy room with nice view. A large bathroom, just perfect. Quiet. Great bed. We dined and had exceptional food, thoughtfully prepared and presented. Breakfast was a hit. I did not like the first cup of coffee, as I had to use the machine (cannot stand them) but I asked and the kitchen prepared a pot of fresh brewed filter coffee.

The aforementioned coffee automatic. Those machines are spreading like the plague. I’m sorry but I am not alone in my opinion that these time and cost saving machines are ruining breakfasts all over the world.

Room was quaint with parquet wood floors and traditional charm. Excellent breakfast included. Bus stop close by. Takes about 15 minutes to the main sights in Salzburg.

Beautiful old fashioned Austrian hotel, spot less and clean, good room and bathroom. Staff very welcoming , restaurant outstanding ( gourmet standard)

Sometimes road between 2 parts very busy

Breakfast was very good, service also, but room left a lot to be desired. Old, tired and small,

Kind welcome/reception. Professional team. Comfortable bed. Plenty of amenities provided. Excellent breakfast. Kind personnel in the restaurant. Everything worked out well, certainly beyond standard.

Some minor improvements in the (bath)room would make the place even better.

Property is s very clean and charming, staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Nice sauna, good breakfast. We also had dinner there one night, all the traditional dishes were delicious and the presentation impeccable

Would have preferred to be in the main building so we didn’t have to walk across the street. Also, being an older building, the floors were creaking in out room and the bathroom door was hard to close.

Good location, excellent welcome by Luca in reception.

Good & wide wine list, excellent food from the chef .Unfortunately let down by the waitress lack of knowledge & bad attitude unhelpful .
