Room was stuffy and smelled like cigarette smoke. Restaurant staff not helpful.

Average older Italian hotel. Room was large by European standards; clean and well maintained; average breakfast; great location

Everything was fine and as expected.

We had a lovely room with a great view - nothing can beat it in Portofino. The staff were terrific.

Our only suggestion would be to put down a rug because the floor is VERY CREAKY and would wake up my spouse when I went to the bathroom.

The location is excellent, right in the center of town!

There is no elevator, and lots of stairs but I knew that going in. It actually adds to the charm of this vintage hotel.

Unbeatable location, very clean and the staff are very kind and welcoming. It exceeded my expectations. Will definitely stay here again. Yes, rooms are basic but comfortable and clean.

Nothing. Maybe rooms need better soundproofing but it’s an old building and that’s part of the aesthetic :)

Everything!!I am going to put the lovely guy at the front desk at the top of the list as he was so smiley and welcoming. But all other aspects were of equally high standard. Gorgeous room with balcony overlooking the harbour and Castello Brown. Luxurious bedding and comfortable bed. Super clean. Great breakfast. Lovely relaxed vibe.Thankyou!

Albergo Nazionale is a beautiful hotel located in the center of the harbor! It is within walking distance of all shopping and dining experiences. The staff is extremely accomodating. The breakfast was delicious! We even enjoyed an afternoon glass of wine in their outdoor restaurant and enjoyed a cool, shady break from the crowds while being able to "people-watch" a short distance away.

Perfect location, kind and accommodating staff, excellent breakfast. We stayed in a room with a view of the water which was amazing.

Stairs to get to the bed could be a problem for some people.

It is probably the best place to stay in Portofino. The only place in the Italy with American customer service. This is my second visit to Italy but I was always feeling sorry for customer service quality. Albergo Nazionale has the best staff, location, food, price, look, amenities..

We loved the hotel, and the staff went above and beyond. Extremely clean, breakfast was very delicious. I would highly recommend this property.

Location totally immerses you in Portofino.

Location wise couldn't be any better, just there in the middle of the Allure of the legendary Portofino.The hotel has that classic italian cosy charm. Clean, comfortable and on point with very nice toiletries. The room had even a spacious terrace overlooking the gorgeous pastel coloured little alleys of the fishing village.Breakfast starts at 7:30am conveniently, so you can start your day early. Attentive service from the Reception and even throughout Breakfast.All i need to add is that I would suggest Hotel Nazionale to anyone visiting Portofino.

We went to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary and could not have asked for more. The staff were wonderful, the room was excellent and breakfast overlooking the port was fantastic.

Good selection at breakfast. Reception staff gave us beach towels in handy tote bags when we were going for a swim. We had dinner there that night and it was lovely and in such a stunning setting. Staff were lovely, so helpful. The 3 different gentlemen we met at reception were just exceptional! We were made to feel so welcome and valued as guests even though we were only staying for one night. Wish we could have stayed longer…

Steps into and also inside our room but most certainly not a dealbreaker.

I liked almost everything about the hotel and staff.

The view out our windows overlooked the space in back of a restaurant next door. It looked like a garbage dump. Avoid Room 27.

Fantastic location , very friendly staf and they gave us a special beachbag with content and towels to go to the beach. All perfect

The short stay ...... We wish we would have stayed longer ... Portofino is mesmerizing
